Elizabeth Warren has jumped into second place nationally in a poll of the Democratic 2020 field. The Economist/YouGov survey shows her surge has come at the expense of Bernie Sanders, who now sits in third place.
No surprise: The poll finds Joe Biden still comfortably in first place. But the former vice president’s ceiling is remarkably low: Just 26 percent of voters who intend to participate in the primaries and caucuses list Biden as their first choice.

Elle Magazine apologized on Thursday evening after falsely reporting that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had split. Stunned Twitter users who clicked into the story to know more, were instead met with a voter registration form.
“We made a bad joke,” said the magazine. “Our passion for voter registration clouded our judgement and we are sincerely sorry.”

Dozens of internet denizens were abuzz Thursday after Newsweek reported that the Earth could be facing destruction inside the grips of a black hole.
A tweet with some accompanying dramatic art of what the black hole might look like, swiftly took off in some quarters. And, instead of fear, most responses focused on how pleased they would be to be sucked into cosmic oblivion.

On Monday, Barack and Michelle Obama unveiled their new official portraits at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. And though the stunning works by artists Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald debuted to largely rave reviews, folks on Twitter had fun offering up some humorous alternative portraits of the former president.
Several Twitter users were disappointed that Wiley didn’t take this opportunity to paint Obama in the headline-making tan suit he wore to a 2014 press conference — much like Dutch artist Edwin van den Dikkenberg did in an unofficial portrait of the former president that went viral...
