The eight-episode third season finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) having finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. Bridgerton season three is almost upon us (part one lands on Netflix on May 16) and the first full trailer has arrived to prove it.
Sensibly skipping book three in Julia Quinn’s frothy Regency-set series and getting straight to the Penelope and Colin of the matter, the third season is all about Pen’s search for a husband. Desperate to break out of the Featherington home and frustrated by her failure to attract attention from the ton, Penelope enlists the services of childhood pal Colin Bridgerton. With Colin’s tuition, a suitable beau can’t be far away. In fact, one might just be very close indeed…
Before we come to all the blue-eyes-bandaged-hand stuff though, some viewers have a question. Who, in the name of the gloriously bewigged Queen Charlotte, is the new face being presented at court by Lady Violet Bridgerton at 0:16?
That right there is Francesca Bridgerton,...

Bridgerton‘s third season may very well be about the romance sparking between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), but that doesn’t mean there’s no time to shine a spotlight on other fan-favorite pairings like Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley). Polin season gets underway on Bridgerton when the series returns in May, and Netflix has dropped quite the teaser to tide us over.
We’re unsure whether the clip was released to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but before you get too excited, there’s a severe lack of romance. That isn’t very Bridgerton of you, Netflix.
Instead, we see Colin (Luke Newton) getting an icy reception from Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
The reason?
Penelope overheard the man she’d been pining for telling everyone he’d never court her.
So, she’s shocked when he dares to say he now misses her.

“You miss me, but you would never court me. Is that correct?” she wondered before telling him she had heard everything he said about her.
To her bewilderment, he wants to take the exchange away from the public’s prying eyes.

Netflix debuted a one-minute clip from Bridgerton season three during a special fan event featuring the cast, showrunner Jess Brownell, executive producer Shonda Rhimes, and author Julia Quinn. The clip, which was brought online immediately following the event, focuses on the prickly relationship between Penelope and Colin at the beginning of the long-awaited new season.
During the spoiler-free event, Rhimes said she’s most excited that this new season features a love story between characters we already know and root for. She also teased that a lot of characters will be finding themselves in new, interesting situations.
“Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen,” added Jess Brownell.

Netflix has debuted a new batch of first-look images of Penelope and Colin’s budding romance in season 3 of ‘Bridgerton.’
Season 3 will be based on ‘Romancing Mister Bridgerton,’ the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s series. The third season finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) finally giving up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.
But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

Ready for another rendezvous with the ton?
“Bridgerton” is returning to Netflix in 2024, with the third season of the period drama waltzing onto streaming in two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on May 16, and the next four will be available to stream on June 13.
Along with the announcement, Netflix released a video stitching together previously seen footage with TikToks and social media posts from fans eager to revisit the upper crust of Regency-era London.
The Shondaland series will jump right into Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) romance in Season 3, diverting from the Julia Quinn books it’s based on. Meanwhile, Penelope will have to deal with her rift with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), who, according to Netflix’s description, has found a new friend in an unlikely place. With a growing presence in the ton, Penelope is challenged with keeping her Lady Whistledown alter ego under wraps.

Ruby Stokes made the move from Bridgerton to Lockwood & Co. and is now opening up about what she misses the most from the Netflix period drama.
“The thing I miss the most about that show is the people. The people are just unmatched,” she told 1883 magazine in an interview. “They are incredible, generous, kind, hilarious and genuine. They’re great. They are just really, really good people, both the crew and the cast.”
Stokes played the role of Francesca Bridgerton in the television adaptation of the Julia Quinn book series. She is now the lead star of Lockwood & Co. where she plays Lucy Carlyle and Stokes is now comparing what similarities both roles share.
“I think they’re both very confident in their opinions,” she explains. “They don’t really give a shit what others think, but they do value people close to them and people in their inner circle.

"Bridgerton" will soon return to Netflix with its third season — but without its Duchess.
Phoebe Dynevor, who rose to fame for playing Daphne in the period drama's first season alongside Regé-Jean Page, the Duke of Hastings, has confirmed she won't reprise her role in "Bridgerton" season 3. The Netflix and Shondaland-produced show became a huge success for Netflix immediately after its release in December 2020, becoming the streamer's most successful show. Its lush landscapes, colorful costumes, and charming storyline had millions of subscribers tune into Netflix to binge-watch the show. Dynevor and Page's on-screen love story struck a chord with viewers — who wanted to continue seeing them in some capacity long after their story had ended.

Netflix's Bridgerton is losing another original cast member.
Phoebe Dynevor is not returning for the third season of the Regency-era drama, it has been revealed.
Dynevor revealed the news to Screenrant during an interview at the Sundance Film Festival.
"Sadly [I'm] not in Season 3," Dynevor told the outlet.
However, she is not closing the door on a return, revealing she could "potentially" appear in future seasons.
The star said she's "just excited to watch [Season 3] as a viewer."
Dynevor was co-lead of the hit drama's freshman season, where she starred opposite Regé-Jean Page.
They played star-crossed lovers Daphne Bridgerton and Duke of Hastings Simon Basset.
Page announced his departure following the first season, leading to fans demanding his return.
The actor said he only signed a one-year deal and had fulfilled it.
Bridgerton was a breakout role.
Initially, it was expected that Dynevor would also not be a part of the sophomore season.

This piece contains spoilers for Enola Holmes 2.
The first official case for young Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) starts with a missing girl: factory worker named Sarah Chapman (Hannah Dodd). But as Enola tugs at all the loose threads, she discovers mounting evidence—a missing page from the factory books, a suspicious surge of typhus, a scandalous romance—that draws the attention of the factory’s owners, Scotland Yard, and even her brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill). It all culminates in Sarah, her sister Bessie (Serrana Su-Ling Bliss), and the other factory girls going on strike—a real-life event which grounded the movie’s events in a sense of historical context.
The Matchgirls’ strike of 1888 changed the working conditions at the Bryant & May match factory, but it was not the first of its kind. The matchgirls went on strike several times between the 1870s to 1880s, always in an attempt to...

Plot: Now a detective-for-hire like her infamous brother, Enola Holmes takes on her first official case to find a missing girl, as the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires the help of friends — and Sherlock himself — to unravel.
Review: When Enola Holmes debuted in 2020, it represented one of the better Netflix feature films. Quality production values, a solid screenplay, and some pretty impressive action sequences made the film more than a teen-centric mystery and more of a worthy showcase for Millie Bobby Brown in a franchise all her own. With the credit sequence all but guaranteeing a sequel, Enola Holmes 2 arrives and exceeds the original film in virtually every way. With a bigger and more intricate plot, bigger stakes, and potential for countless more sequels, Enola Holmes 2 is one of the best Netflix original films and a rip-roaring good time that could have been a big screen hit.

The biggest revelation in Enola Holmes 2 isn’t just all about the post-credits scene connecting the old-school Holmes canon to Nancy Springer’s books. Yes, there is a surprising cameo at the end, one which will make all sorts of Sherlockian fans happy. But before that happens, in the movie’s big denouement, we get another very famous Sherlock Holmes character. But this time, this specific person is disguised as another character entirely.
The Enola Holmes 2 Easter Egg That Changes Everything
For most of the second Enola Holmes film, both Sherlock and Enola (Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown) are battling a mystery of corruption. Enola is concerned with the very real event of the Matchgirls’ Strike of 1888 while Sherlock is after a money laundering scheme orchestrated by a mysterious villain named “Moriarty.” As we learn midway through the film, these two events are linked.

Enola starts out by searching for missing girl Sarah Chapman (Hannah Dodd), whose absence gets reported to her by her “sister” Bessie, who worked with Sarah in the Lyon Match Factory. Enola reports to Sarah’s shift to investigate the factory and learn more about Sarah.
