Poll: Happy Birthday, Lucky Luke!

Like Tintin and Asterix, Lucky Luke, the "poor, lonesome, cowboy" is one of the most popular and iconic characters of the Franco-Belgian comic-book school.

He was created in 1946 by Maurice de Bevere aka Morris, a Belgian drawer who, like many other people of his generation, was impregnated by all the Hollywood Golden Age classics, and naturally westerns, the genre that inspired the iconic cowboy who draws his gun faster than his shadow (a catchphrase that became synonym of 'quickness' in French language).

As for writer Goscinny's humor, it was not political, not thought-provoking, but always with this mix of wit, inventiveness and sophistication that would appeal to both kids and adults. His greatest creation would be the Daltons brothers: Joe, William, Jack and the tallest and most stupid one, Averell who embodies one of Goscinny's greatest talents: creating stupid characters with a level of brilliance that makes them particularly endearing, Rin-Tin-Can, the dog, is one of them.

So celebrating the 75th anniversary of the iconic cowboy, which screen adaptation of his adventures is your personal favorite?

After voting and faster than your shadow, you might discuss the poll here

(a last bit of trivia for the road: in 1988, Morris was awarded a special medal from the World Health Organization for having made Lucky Luke quit smoking)
