WOW!

This film was completely out of left-field. With the recent dross of commercial flicks that Bollywood has brought, here was something I didn't expect; a mindless Bollywood action film which was so damn entertaining from start to finish. Yes, I am an action junkie and worship Hollywood films like Commando, First Blood Trilogy and The Expendables. But seeing Bollywood try their equivalent of the aforementioned movies is something I have longed for. Never did I think that Bollywood would EVER bring out a movie on the same action level like Ong Bak or even the original Police Story (real stunts, no wires etc).

Well.....We do now!

And we have a new full-on action hero in Vidyut Jamwal. I mean, he was impressive as the villain in Force. But here, he shows that he can be Bollywood's answer to Tony Jaa and Stallone, all rolled into one. Tough, rugged-looking, yet silent and the occasional smart one-liners (a great homage to the 80s action heroes of Hollywood). Some of the stunts he does in the film are breathtaking. Even more impressive when you realise that no body-doubles are used for the main hero (hence the disclaimer at the start of the film).

The antagonist AK47 (Jaideep Ahlawat) screen presence is menacing. I felt that he could have been more terrifying, but in the end, he gets the job done. A good counter to Karanvir (as played by Vidyut). Newcomer Pooja Chopra does a good job too.

Okay, so the plot is predictable, and some parts of the editing could have been sharper. But for action fans, the entertainment value is sky- high. Its an out-and-out action film; it does what it says on the tin. And I really look forward to the eventual sequel. Really, I want more of the same.

Its a must-see for Bollywood action fans!!!
