Vikings: Promised (2016)
Season 4, Episode 5
7/10
The bond and the break

Warning: Spoilers
In tradition of seasonal raiding, the Vikings are preparing for another onslaught to Frankia. This year's participants are quite dubious, unlike previous years of merry comrades, this party consists of glory seekers. This is a more combustible setting, especially when they know they have more motivations to take down Paris.

Most of the episode concentrates on Vikings newcomers, the design and presentation give them noticeable visages. Both the new warlords have their own images, with the older one seems to be more ambitious. They even approach Bjorn and Floki while Ragnar appears to be detached from the other, he becomes weary and prefers the company of Yidu who apparently comes from deceptive background.

There are a few good shots on this gathering at Kattegat. The usual navy look is present, as well as the bluish air on the Vikings ground, but there's also a high rise view on the party while Ragnar rests solemnly on the roof. It's a different vibe, which I daresay more romantic than the general ambiance the series normally has.

A few other expansions occur on other regions, although these are the same prelude to the battle, be it may the defense of Paris or the preparation to reclaim the queen's throne. The best event happens by the hands of Lagertha, who merely says a few words but her touch utterly changes her fate.
