Vikings: Promised (2016)
Season 4, Episode 5
7/10
Let's talk

This episode of the "Vikings" lacks in the action department, but more than makes for it with lots of plotting, talking and looks that mean way more than they let out.

King Harald is here, and he is joined pretty soon by his brother Halfdan (cough cough, history, cough). Both seem quite interested in Floki's situation and queen Aslaug seems more than happy to see all three getting to know each other. And Ragnar is just happy to pass time with his new friend, Yidu.

The acting shines in episodes like this one, where all the characters have a chance to do way more than just fight. The new characters are bringing an interesting dynamic to the show, and Floki maybe joining them could make for an interesting challenge to Ragnar's power. The dialogues are good, and the delivery is great. And as in previous episodes, the direction is sound and stable, and the scenery brings the right mood.

Will they go back to Paris? It can't be soon enough.
