In case of doubt, fairy tales

Surprisingly, after a shaky start, "The Librarians" has found its ground pretty fast. Episode 6, "The Librarians: And the Fables of Doom" is the best episode so far in this very young show.

An accident on a bridge calls the attention of the librarians, who go to the place of the accident to discover that a lot of strange things seem to be happening. And they seem to be related to classical fairy tales...

The episode is one centered on a classical on fantasy shows: fairy tales. And it does a great job, with a very funny and charming episode. It is pretty early on "The Librarians" life, but the dynamics between the characters have been clearly established, and the acting and direction are fresh and with lots of energy. Ezekiel Jones, for example, who started as a character who was a little bit annoying, is being played with more and more confidence by John Harlan Kim. Making the character's moral compass always pointing towards own-benefit makes for some very funny moments. But it is not only Jones, but all the characters who have their own chance to shine.

"The Librarians" may not be a great show, but for now, it is pretty fun.
