Daredevil: Rabbit in a Snowstorm (2015)
Season 1, Episode 3

The judgement is yours and yours alone

This episode took a step back from Matt the vigilante and focused on Matt the lawyer, which I really liked as he is a very good lawyer that seeks justice no matter where he can get it. There was still action, a new character and the introduction of the big bad, Wilson Fisk.

Starting with the focus of this episode, Nelson and Murdock defending the ultra creepy John Healy. Both of them proved themselves to be excellent attorneys that have the charisma and determination to win over a jury. I'm actually starting to like Foggy now as he really proved himself in the land of the law. The ending of Healy's story with him killing himself after revealing his employer's name was truly brutal and shocking and furthers the power that Fisk has, even by name, literally.

Speaking of Fisk, we finally got to meet him, and not just as a voice on the phone. I must say, I really liked how they showed him in his first scene as he is easily sympathetic. We first see him sorrowfully looking at a painting while also being sort of shy to the beautiful gallery owner. We already know that he is an imposing force but this made him such a likable character as it shows us his vulnerability in his first on screen appearance.

We also got introduced to a new main character, Ben Urich, a reporter for the Daily Bulletin. Urich, as well as Fisk, is immediately sympathetic as he is struggling with insurance and is being controlled by his boss by not letting his voice be heard.

I will say that this episode definitely felt like it slowed down after the first couple of episodes. While we do get important scenes and plot points that are set up, it did feel like they pumped the brakes.

+ Nelson and Murdock + Healy's battle with the man in black and his end + Unusual first scene with Fisk + Crucial new character in Urich + Foggy getting better - Slowed down since first few episodes

Final Score: 8.8/10
