Warning: Spoilers
I'll be damned this was a FANTASTIC episode! We all knew that the attack on York would happen, and that most likely Ivar would have a plan, but DAMN, his plan was excellent! Ivar is asking for a sacrifice and thus brings in a slave, he then commands her to kiss him, but following that he is figuring out that his "manly parts" work! This is new to him and he then makes the slave a free woman, I do have a feeling that we will see her again in later episodes. Ivar is observing the battle at first, but eventually decides to join in, it doesn't take long before he is knocked down from his chariot, the saxon soldier underestimates Ivar's agility and pays the price. Ivar is in a trance or something when he is surrounded by the saxons, GREAT performance by Alex, absolutely stunning. We also see the tear between the brothers following the aftermath of the battle of York, becoming clearer with Ubbe leaving England. I am a bit uneasy with this, because I like both Ivar and Ubbe, I do not want them to fight each other. My only complaint is the apparent teleportation of Ivar's bodyguards at one point in the battle when we watch Heahmund cut down vikings, but these things happen ALL the time.
