My rating of 5 is because that is what I think of the series based on the first three episodes. So far they have progressively gotten better, As for the flashbacks, they really disjoint the first two episode, in the third they were less disjointed. What I am hoping for is as the episodes progress, the flashbacks lessen and the series goes linear for it's conclusion.
The actors are all doing a fine job so far and I have no issues with the changes made with gender and race, as long as the spirit of the character remains. I am still on the fence with Whoopie, while she is a good actress, I am still having a hard time seeing her as Mother Abigail, as in my mind, she is just to robust and young for the part.
So far I don't hate it, and hope it will continue to get better.
