The Machinist (2004)
8/10
Well Made Psychological Thriller.

The Machinist is a movie which is closest to a Hitchcock kinda film in making style.

Its among those movies which keeps intriguing you even after the running time.

The film making is top notch.

Cinematography and Color Grading made the movie look intense.

It keeps establishing new plots throughout to the end. But many of the incoming scenes are predictable. We'll get to feel like it's just a scene to deviate us. But have to always remember its what Trevor Reznik (C. BALE) thinks about what going around him.

Spoiler : [We'll get to predict that he's living a fantasy life even after some run time.]

The mystery wasn't really a mystery. Simple and Good Climax.

Next thing the performance of Christian Bale as Trevor Reznik.

Christian Bale has entered to the legends list.

Usually i don't brag about the physical transitions of actors for movies. But oh Boy Bale looked terrific, he had lost 60 pounds after the American Psycho in which he had a muscle packed body... This was like he'll die starving... The eyes of an insomniac was well captured, both by camera as well as Bale and transported to viewers.

I'm not sure he went to to his original character after director called the cut. Such a performance.

The Machinist is well baked slow paced thriller yet predictable. It had moments which we won't forget. Felt like if supporting characters too had some character development the film could have been better. Recommendable.
