I had no expectations, and I was mostly negative beforehand. I was especially negative against Iman which I thought would be horrible. I was wrong on both counts. This was a fun ride, and I had a stupid comic book nerdy smile on my face throughout the entire episode. And Iman Vellani is excellent in the role and bring such enthusiasm and love to the role I completely forgot all my worries.
I laughed out loud on several occasions and seeing Kamala and her friend bike with images on the wall, listening to the fantastic dialogue, and seeing all of these great character (the parents are fantastic!) I was so surprised and so happy I saw this.
Best start of any Marvel TV show so far! This gave me hope back for Marvel - yea that is how good this is. I had almost completely given up since most recent movies and TV shows has been horrible, but this?? THIS, this is what comic book stories should be. This is what it used to be. Escapism, fun, entertaining, great characters with great dialogue, loving world and all the rest. I am so happy after seeing this I am still smiling.
The only negative I can think of is that this is made more for preteens, teens and younger adults. The world this is set in, Kamala, the characters, the feel and tone, it is all aimed at a certain demographic and it is not me, and perhaps not you either.
