Carmella's telling the truth about Livia is probably my favorite moment with her

Honestly I didn't even notice Livia was cgi! Aida Turturro was amazing as Janice. An absolute psycho and would do anything to get what she wants. Even betraying Tony. Like in The second season with Richie. Very convincing performance. I always wondered why they wrote out Liv when they did. It didn't even occur to me she died in real life. Also I didn't know about the CGI and didn't spot anything off about that scene. I feel like Livia's death allowed her to become a more tormenting figure to Tony in his psyche than if she carried on. Now he'd forever have doubts as to her intentions and questions left unanswered as to her true feelings, and a source of misery in his life he'll never come to terms with. In the final episode with the new psychiatrist he's still harping on about his mother. Yea the scenes with Livia were edited because the actress Nancy Marchand died suddenly. So they used prerecorded dialog over previously filmed footage and came up with a new direction for the show. This isn't a spoiler but originally Livia was going to testify against Tony for the stole airline tickets and that was were the show was going. The original plan for the show in the creators eye was for the show to always be Tony vs his Mother she was going to at some point going to testify against Tony in the airline ticket fraud case. Sadly after the actress died the shows focus had to shift, but the show is still amazing and the subject matter gets even broader without a "main antagonist" in Livia.
