Good episode. The famous Marcia gets hit in the nose with a football. It all comes when she is set to go on a date with Doug Simpson on the school football team and big man on campus. To go with Doug however she must break a date with sweet Charley . Greg gives Marcia the famous something suddenly came up excuse to break her date with Charley . Then comes the accident and Marcia's nose swells up. She still goes to school to take some important exams. Doug see what happens and uses the same excuse to break their date! That was some quick karma!
Charley is still willing to take her out the next night. He doesn't care about her appearance. " I want to take out you not just your nose ! What an extraordinary young man! Marcia can't face going anywhere.
Finally her nose is back to normal and Doug so called excuse goes away! Marcia has seen the light and no longer cares about Doug . She apologizes to Charley and he accepts. He also accepts it when she asks him out.
She gets home and tells her parents about the fight Charley and Doug had and Charley gets the best of him ! Doug runs off with a swollen nose! Marcia mocks his reaction and Mike reminds her of her recent vanity issues. She pretends to not know what he's talking about but with a smile. I don't know why but I really loved that reaction from Marcia probably because she wasn't arrogant or smug just having a bit of fun at her own expense.
