That said, Gosling also vowed to give the stunt category the respect it deserves, which might start a new Oscar category.

New Amsterdam‘s Tyler Labine is currently in the hospital recovering after suffering from a “potentially fatal blood clot.”
He announced his hospitalization on social media after believing he had a simple stomachache. He posted a video that featured several clips of him in an ambulance and at the hospital.
He updated fans saying, “Sometimes it’s a Tuesday and you’re walking around with a tummy ache so you try to sleep it off. Then sometimes you wake up on a Weds with a stomach ache so bad you decide to go to the ER at your local hospital. And then sometimes your tummy ache turns out to be a potentially fatal blood clot in your intestines and liver and you have to spend the next 3 days in the hospital trying not to die. Just sometimes.”
He reassured fans that he is expected to be okay and is currently in recovery.

Having gotten his start at age 12 on Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Club and starring in youth-oriented shows like Breaker High and Young Hercules, Ryan Gosling had a reputation as a squeaky-clean child star. And when he took the role of a getaway driver in the 2011 movie Drive, he told us it was because the film finally let him indulge that dark side he’d been keeping hidden. Trailblazer. Icon. Turtle. These are just a few of the words one could use to describe Venus de Milo, a character largely forgotten by pop culture despite being entirely unforgettable.
On Sept. 12, 1997, Fox Kids debuted Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, the first (and still only) live-action series based on the popular franchise. Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling’s career trajectory doesn’t resemble that of other actors—unless you count his “Mickey Mouse Club” co-stars Keri Russell, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears, of course. Cast as a teenager on the Disney Channel’s hit variety show in 1993, the actor got to brush up on his acting, singing, and dancing skills in front of a national audience week in and week out. From there it was a natural jump to starring roles in TV series “Breaker High” and “Young Hercules” before making the leap to indie films and superstardom with “The Notebook” and “Lars and the Real Girl.” Gosling gets to show off his triple-threat status again in Lionsgate’s “La La Land,” Damien Chazelle’s spectacular original movie musical opening in theaters Dec. 9. For a glimpse of the kind of material that helped Gosling prepare for his acting career, look no further than...

Hey girls, it's a very special day.
That's right ladies, today, Nov. 12, is Ryan Gosling's 32 birthday and we're celebrating by taking a look back at some of his hottest red carpet moments.
The hunky star got his big break in the 1990s, when he landed a starring role on "The Mickey Mouse Club." After a few cameos in shows and movies like "Goosebumps," "Breaker High," "Young Hercules" and "Remeber The Titans," Gosling took Hollywood by storm -- and got all of us swooning -- when he played Noah opposite Rachel McAdams in "The Notebook."
"Look, this is crazy. I don't understand how I'm here, living this life, wearing this suit. I assume I'm going to pay for it someday ... And that's Ok," Gosling told GQ of his success last year, adding, "It seems fair to me. I just want to be ready for it. I want to meet it like a gentleman.

While we were at it, we rounded up a few other 90's TV gems starring some of our favorite celebrities today. Highlights include Big Wolf On Campus starring Twilight's Rachelle Lefevre, Flash Forward starring Ben Foster, Blossom starring Mayim Bialik (otherwise known as Amy Farrah Fowler from Big Bang Theory), and Sister Sister starring The Game's Tia Mowry. Then there are the timeless classics Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Doogie Howser with mega-stars Will Smith and Neil Patrick Harris.

There’s a lot of potentially humiliating stuff going on in Ryan Gosling‘s Breaker High, the Canadian sitcom that helped launch the Drive actor’s career in 1997, back when he was just a hunky teen. Between Ryan’s faux-Brooklyn accent, the insanely flamboyant hockey coach, and the fact that the show revolved around a high school located on a cruise ship, it’d be understandable if Ryan wanted to toss all copies of this show into the Atlantic and never look back. But really, is it any worse than any other early embarrassing celeb role? From Jack Black to Jennifer Aniston to Renee Zellweger, plenty of A-listers have had to take some Z-list roles when they were starting out. If you had to chose one from our humiliating list (and you do!), which cringe-worthy part do you think is the most regrettable?

Despite having met most of the parents of Mystic Falls' main players on "The Vampire Diaries" -- including Mama Donovan, Mama (and the late Papa) Lockwood, Mama and Papa Forbes and even Elena's birth parents -- the only non-ancient Bennett family member we've met so far (besides Bonnie, of course), is Grams (may she Rip).
That'll change in the second half of Season 3, when we finally meet Bonnie's mother. According to Entertainment Weekly, the pivotal role of Abby Bennett will be played by former "Girlfriends" star Persia White.
Starting in episode 312, we'll see the "beautiful but troubled woman who is burdened by the secrets of her past that led her to leave Bonnie." She's "as determined and fiery as any Bennett woman." EW speculates (quite interestingly) that she might have something to do with the revelation that you can either be a witch or a vampire, but not both.

Former "Breaker High" star Tyler Labine does his best Ryan Gosling (circa The Notebook) and shows off his wood-chopping skills in this first photo from upcoming dark comedy Cottage Country.
The two, of course, played best buds in the late-'90s TV series about kids who went to school on a cruise ship - is that what it was really about? - and while nothing much became of this Gosling character (As If) Labine has scored spots in shows like "Reaper," "Mad Love," "Boston Legal" and recently took top billing in horror-comedy Tucker & Dale vs Evil.
Now he takes the lead in Peter Wellington's ("Slings & Arrows") pitch-black family comedy that finds him accidentally offing his slacker brother Salinger with, you guessed it, an axe.
Oops.

He may have started his career working the teen scene on "The Micky Mouse Club" and "Breaker High," but the notoriously picky actor has made a name for himself as an adult by largely choosing interesting, quirky roles that showcase his natural talent.
But Gosling's star is on the rise and as New York magazine notes with this summer's "Crazy, Stupid, Love" it's just the start of his return to more mainstream roles.
The actor who has currently sporting bleach blond hair while filming "The Place Beyond The Pines," next stars alongside Carey Mulligan in "Drive" as a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver, and in the political thriller "The Ides of March" directed by and co-staring George Clooney.
New York magazine caught up with Gosling to find out what it was like to work with Clooney as a director and not surprisingly, Gosling had only kind, although somewhat strange words for him.

Brendan Fehr was an actor for all of one year when he got the part of Michael on Roswell.
But sometimes luck doesn’t bring perspective. He say’s that he “didn’t realize how hard [acting] was because it came so quick and when it comes quick it seems relatively easy.”
After Roswell ended, he admittedly didn’t go out on pilots for a long time and now he says that he’s “definitely been humbled.”
Since then though, he’s had some great recurring roles on Bones and CSI: Miami and this Saturday, you can watch him and Victor Garber in SyFy original movie, Ice Quake.
I talked to him in a Q & A where he talks about the new movie, how he got his roles on both Bones and Roswell, how he got started and more!

I'm having trouble thinking of a good opening line. I suppose that'll do. I head towards downtown for another day of Tiff and I'm right behind a guy walking two terriers. I'm immediately reminded of the Kids in the Hall song: Terriers. "Terrier is my very favourite breed"...anybody? Bueller? . Inside the subway station, Pizza Pizza is selling slices for a dollar. This happens every year. I have to say that it's not fair to sell hot pizza for such a cheap price and being a fat guy with a healthy appetite makes it even less fair. Luckily, I had just flossed, brushed my teeth and used Total Care Listerine. I still had that minty breath and pizza would not be a good idea. My dentist told me to use that Total Care stuff. She's super cute, so I'd pretty much do whatever she said. On the way to the theatre,...

Thank goodness Ryan Gosling has a movie coming out, because if it weren’t for all the press he has to do for Blue Valentine (which co-stars Michelle Williams and looks incredible) we might’ve missed the chance to see just how much the actor — who’s relatively undetected by paparazzi in his off time — has evolved into such a stand-out stud.

In another story of actors wanting to become musicians or musicians wanting to become actors, here comes the tale of Ryan Gosling and his band Dead Man's Bones. According to Jam [1]!, my favourite cast member of Breaker High [2] has decided to take a few months off from acting and focus on music. I suppose he's earned the chance to do this. With superb acting performances in The Believer and Half Nelson maybe he can translate that into music. If you haven't heard much from his band check this [3] out. Not much in the way of actual music videos from the band, but you can get a good idea of what they're about. I should point out that this isn't indicative of Canadian music, but I'll hand it to him and say that at the very least, it's different. He and partner Zach Shield sing about zombies with broken hearts and other weird stuff.

News first broke about Blue Valentine back in 2007, with the quite unique and distinct plot of "a couple whose relationship is jeopardized when they find themselves in different places in their lives." We're getting only a wee bit more now, two years later, as the film jumped out of ThinkFilm and finally hits production, but at least it's matched with leads who will make it interesting.
Variety reports that Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams have signed on to star in the indie drama, which will follow a couple in a failing marriage. Derek Cianfrance, who will direct, penned the script with Cami Delavigne and Joey Curtis, while Mike Vogel, John Doman, and Maryann Plunkett fill in the rest of the cast.
