Could Kitt ride again? Scooper Daniel Richtman took to his Patreon to claim that not only is Universal Pictures developing a Knight Rider movie, but that John Cena is already attached to star.
Richtman added that Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows (The Package) are writing the script. Of course, nothing has been confirmed at this time, but it’s somewhat surprising that Knight Rider hasn’t received a modern big-screen update like so many of its ’80s brethren. We’ve seen The A-Team, 21 Jump Street, The Equalizer, Miami Vice, and more all make the leap to the big screen, so why not Knight Rider? The classic series starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a former detective given a new identity by a tech billionaire to help fight crime. Aiding him in that pursuit was Kitt, an artificially intelligent and nearly indestructible car.

Jacques Haitkin, the cinematographer on the first two Nightmare on Elm Street films as well as myriad other horror and action movies, has died. He passed on March, 21 after a battle with Als and Leukemia, according to a Facebook post by his son Zak Haitkin. He was 72.
More recently, Haitkin had worked as second unit director of photography or camera operator on some of the industry’s biggest titles, including Black Panther, Venom, Captain America: Civil War (and Winter Soldier), Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, Captain Phillips, The Expendables, X-Men: First Class, X-Men: The Last Stand and Kong: Skull Island.
Below is his son Zac’s statement.
I am deeply saddened to announce that my dad, Jacques Haitkin passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the age of 72 in San Francisco, CA after a long and courageous battle with Als and Leukemia. Despite the challenges that he faced,...

As the beginning of his IMDb bio states, “Every horror film buff will recognize the name Jacques Haitkin.” Haitkin was the cinematographer on one of the most popular horror movies ever made, the 1984 Wes Craven classic A Nightmare on Elm Street (watch it Here). And while Craven didn’t return to the helm for A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge, Haitkin did return to be the cinematographer on that sequel. Sadly, we have to share the news today that Jacques Haitkin is no longer with us. This news was broken on the Facebook account of filmmaker Tony Randel, who is best known for directing Hellbound: Hellraiser II and worked with Haitkin on Galaxy of Terror, Ticks, Fist of the North Star, Rattled, One Good Turn, and Assignment Berlin.
Randel posted, “I knew Jacques Haitkin practically my entire career. We met on a Roger Corman horror/sci-fi epic – Galaxy of Terror.

It’s 2020, and Hollywood still can’t get enough of old David Hasselhoff IPs. Three years after Baywatch was rebooted with a starry new cast in 2017, the news has arrived that cult 80s TV series Knight Rider is also now making its way to the big screen.
Deadline reported this afternoon that Spyglass Entertainment is teaming up with Aquaman director James Wan’s Atomic Monster production company to develop a feature film reboot of the classic property. It looks like Wan will produce, alongside Michael Clear, with former video game writer Tj Fixman, whose credits include Ratchet & Clank and Resistance: Fall of Man, attached to provide the script. Judson Scott will exec produce.
As anyone familiar with the original show will know, Knight Rider followed Hasselhoff’s Michael Knight as he went around fighting crime with his trusty talking car, Kitt. Plot details on the movie reboot have yet to be revealed,...

Michael Knight and Kitt may soon be bringing their adventures to the big screen. The La Times reports that The Weinstein Company has hired Brad Copeland to draft a feature film take on the popular automotive action franchise. The original "Knight Rider" series aired for four seasons on NBC beginning in 1982. It starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a crimefighter aided by the Knight Industries Two Thousand (Kitt), a highly advanced vehicle with its own A.I. personality. "Knight Rider" was spun off into the short-lived "Code of Vengeance" in 1985 and, in addition to three different telefilms, received two sequel/reboot series, "Team Knight Rider" and just plain "Knight Rider" in 1997 and 2008, respectively. In addition...

It’s been about a year since Marvel announced they were rocking out four Anime mini-series’ based on their most well known properties; Wolverine, Iron Man, Blade and The X-Men. A full year since Internet Jesus Warren Ellis was revealed as the man who would be outlining the four shows. A full year since we discovered that it would be animated by Madhouse, the studio behind a bunch of the recent Marvel and DC direct-to-video animated movies, not to mention Paprika and Ninja Scroll.
With that mix they surely can’t have gone wrong… But there’s been a lot of ‘meh’ in the press about them since the Americans got a preview last week but we very much enjoyed the new Wolverine series, and I sat down with the first episodes of Iron Man series to report back on whether it’s worth the wait.
** beware, here be spoilers **

Tomorrow night — yes, Friday the 13th — a new show is premiering on Cinemax, that purveyor of inspirational After Dark programming such as Zane's Sex Chronicles and Co-Ed Confidential 4Play. It's called Femme Fatales and I don't know if it will be any good, but it just might be better than it needs to be.
Femme Fatales is being promoted as a female-centric film noir version of The Twilight Zone, drawing influences from pulp fiction stories and graphic novels, with lots of T&A. It comes to us from the overstimulated minds of Mark A. Altman and Steven Kriozere, which seems weird at first because both of these guys have respectable day jobs in network television. But it starts to make sense when you realize they also have a bit of experience with the ol' slap and tickle.
Altman and Kriozere work as producers on Castle, the ABC detective romp starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Kanic.

According to Variety, Family Guy producer and writer David A. Goodman has not only taken on the task of adapting Hong Kong Phooey for a big screen outing, he's also the man at the typewriter for Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Vegas? The most comforting element of Goodman's CV is that he has written for Futurama but, sadly, the rest of his rap sheet actually seems quite disconcerting to me, from The Golden Girls to Team Knight Rider. Even if Futurama proves he does have it in him, penning a Hong Kong Phooey movie for producer Brett Ratner will probably be enough to seal his fate in the eyes of many. Poor chap. When it comes to casting this adaptation I've no idea who could possibly replace Scatman Crothers as the raspy voice of Penrod 'Penry' Pooch but I hope they sound even one half as fantastic. Crothers'...
