Louis exposes an eccentric couple who are genuinely happy and in love

Louis spends time with diminutive magician Paul Daniels and his wife/assistant Debbie McGee. He joins them in the build up to Debbie's first ever ballet performance (written by her) and funded by Paul. During the production Louis gets to know the relationship behind the showmanship.

Louis specialises in eccentric characters. Here he seems to have a perfect pick – Paul and Debbie. Their relationship is silly and ditzy – when together they don't seem serious at all. However under this they do have characters. Debbie is generally happy because after years of giving up her dream of ballet to work with Paul, she now has her chance. However Paul seems a bit bitter at being an aging magician. He goes on daytime TV to promote the ballet and hates being asked to do magic etc and is increasingly bad tempered.

The ballet doesn't go too well and Paul is forced to go back to doing shows etc to cover the losses, however he doesn't blame Debbie – instead he sees it as part of giving back to Debbie for all she gave him.

Overall Paul and Debbie are certainly a very different couple and may even be described as eccentric, but they do seem genuinely happy together and in love. No matter how weird Louis exposes them to be – he can't stop that coming through.
