It’s hard to believe it’s been over 10 years since Bravo premiered its Real Housewives franchise. Conceived as a real life soap opera and named after the popular ABC show Desperate Housewives at the time, the initial outing — 2006’s The Real Housewives of Orange County — became such a massive hit, it spawned eight shows in the United States alone. Over the years, The Real Housewives shows have become iconic television viewing and made celebrities out of many of it’s 99 stars (not to mention launched tons of products). Below, a rundown of the Real Housewives’ top franchises and most memorable stars.

For Hollywood's most famous chefs, tasty recipes are only the appetizer to a successful career. At one point, being a food mogul may have included a successful restaurant or a cookbook filled with delicious recipes. But these days, a few familiar foodies have taken the term to a whole new level with product lines, successful TV shows and so much more. Back in the day, Bethenny Frankel was just a contestant on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart trying to impress the boss. Today, she runs a multi-million dollar Skinnygirl empire. Before becoming one of the most famous faces on Food Network, Bobby Flay was just a high school student working at a pizza parlor and Baskin-Robbins. In...

The banter between Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg is a special kind of treat. Not exactly the sort of treat you’d find in one of Snoop’s brownies – but there’s a different contact high that comes with seeing this unlikely duo in action.
In October, TV’s oddest couple gathered at Beverly Hills’ Four Seasons Hotel to promote their latest collaboration, VH1’s new cooking show “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.” Below is a sample of their conversation with reporters that day:

Are you putting the “pot” in the potluck here on the show?
Snoop Dogg: Yeah, I have my special organic herbs that I bring to the meal and when she’s not looking I like to put a little bit in hers. That’s what we do.

Attention Bravo: Bethenny Frankel has the perfect suggestion for a new addition to the Real Housewives of New York City cast: Martha Stewart.
Frankel joked to Seth Meyers during an appearance on Late Night that she thinks the 74-year-old lifestyle guru would be the perfect fit for the reality series because the pair would butt heads.
"She doesn't like me. She never really has," Frankel, 45, told Meyers of Stewart, who she first met while competing on her show The Apprentice: Martha Stewart in 2005. "She's consistent."

Not many people impress Martha Stewart. Bethenny Frankel, who was the runner-up on NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart in 2005, is one of those people. While it used to bother her, it doesn't anymore. "She doesn't like me. She never really has. She's consistent," the Real Housewives of New York City star told Seth Meyers when she appeared on NBC's Late Night Wednesday. "We had a moment where we were going to do something on TV recently together. She's always been like a parent that I've always tried to get them to love me, but I gave up on that a couple years ago when I had my own show. She just never misses the opportunity to say something negative about me or my products."...

She's also become a successful businesswoman thanks to her Skinnygirl products ranging from popcorn to wine. But perhaps what keeps fans most entertained and happy is the reality star's words whenever she graces the small screen. Will Martha Stewart put her company's extravagant good-bye gift to Executive Chairman Charles Koppelman in a tasteful gift box with a bow? The former Emi Music chief -- who was a fixture on NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart in 2005 -- will leave by year's end, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia disclosed in an SEC filing today. His departure was moved up a year to open running room for Mslo's new COO Lisa Gersh, who co-founded and ran Oxygen Media until NBCUniversal bought it in 2007. She's been reporting to Koppelman but will report directly to the board when he leaves. But he shouldn't complain: His exit package includes a $1.47M severance payment and up to $35,000 for the attorneys who worked on his new arrangement. The filing says he'll remain on the Mslo board as "Non-Executive Chairman, Vice Chairman or Special Committee Chairman." That will entitle him to an initial $50,000 in stock rights...

HollywoodNews.com: Bethenny Frankel has become somewhat of the ultimate reality TV star as she competed on ‘The Apprentice: Martha Stewart,’ found fame with ‘Real Housewives of New York City,’ moved onto her own reality shows, and then gave ‘Skating with the Stars’ a try.
But, as someone whose life is almost always filmed, what is it like? Frankel recently admitted that she believes she is sending women a great message, states Windy City Times. “I have developed a strong relationship with my fans,” Frankel says about being open with her life.
However, it isn’t a life she wants to live forever: “Is it exhausting because I’ve been doing it—this will be my, oh my goodness, my fifth season on TV in a row pretty much so I’m tired.”

The rift between Donald Trump and Martha Stewart is escalating after the lifestyle guru blasted the property mogul as "juvenile, evil, unethical and immoral." The estranged pals have been arguing since Stewart told Newsweek magazine her show The Apprentice: Martha Stewart suffered poor ratings because Trump failed to step down from his original reality TV program The Apprentice. Trump fired back, declaring Stewart needs to take responsibility for the failure of her spin-off and accused her of lying about plans by producers NBC for the cookery queen to "fire" him at the beginning of her series. After Stewart read a letter from Trump, detailing his disdain for her show and the reason it failed, she took the opportunity to attack him on her daughter Alexis' radio show Thursday. Stewart said, "He sent the letter to the press before he sent it to me." When Alexis declared, "A normal businessman doesn't really behave this way," and described Trump as being "busy riding around town seeing if your name is polished properly on the front of all the buildings you don't really own," Stewart replied, "Donald is not a normal businessman. Remember Donald was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He's a spoiled brat." Alexis went on to attack Trump even further, expressing her sympathy for his daughter Ivanka, saying, "I feel sorry for her. She seems like a nice girl. It must be hard to have such a freak for a father," and also suggesting he shove a silver spoon "up his a*s." In response, Trump says, "Nice. What a crude statement. But then Alexis is used to making crude statements."...

Property tycoon Donald Trump has accused Martha Stewart of lying about her defunct spin-off of The Apprentice, comparing her lies to her suspicious stock sale conviction. After The Apprentice: Martha Stewart - Stewart's spin-off of Trump's original hit reality TV show - was cancelled in November following poor ratings, the cookery queen claimed she was supposed to fire Trump from his show at the beginning of the series, so she could capitalize on his viewership. However, Trump fired back asking Stewart to take responsibility for the failure of her show and now has written a letter, bringing her criminal past into the argument. The lifestyle guru spent five months in a West Virginia prison and then a further six months under house arrest last year following her conviction of lying to federal investigators about a suspicious sale of her ImClone shares. Trump writes, "Essentially, you made this firing up just as you made up your sell order of ImClone. The only difference is - that was more obvious. Putting your show on the air was a mistake for everybody - especially NBC. Your performance was terrible in that the show lacked mood, temperament and just about everything else a show needs for success." A shocked Stewart responds, "The letter is so mean-spirited and reckless that I almost can't believe my longtime friend Donald Trump wrote it."...

Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has hit back at criticism of her axed version of US reality show The Apprentice, insisting that competing with tycoon Donald Trump was "unfair." The Apprentice: Martha Stewart failed to match the popularity of the original show fronted by Trump, and NBC executives dropped the TV series in December. But Stewart insists she has no chance of winning an audience after Trump allegedly went back on his word to carry on fronting a rival show. She tells Newsweek, "Having two Apprentices was as unfair to him as it was unfair to me. But Donald really wanted to stay on." However, Trump has rubbished her argument, maintaining Stewart's version of the boardroom competition lacked an appropriate tone and demeanor. He says, "I wish she would be able to take responsibility for her failure."...

The most effective product integrations last year in terms of brand recall and improved brand opinion were the Pontiac Solstice in NBC's The Apprentice, KB Home in ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition -- How'd They Do That? and Tide in NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, according to TV advertising research firm IAG Research. Scoring 318 on IAG's brand opinion index, Pontiac's integration -- in which Apprentice contestants designed marketing brochures for the Solstice -- was more than three times more effective than the average integration, which scores 100. KB Home tallied 310 on the IAG brand opinion index for building a family home and providing free landscaping for neighbors on How'd They Do That? And Tide scored 271 for its role in The Apprentice: Martha Stewart in which contestants designed live-action mobile billboards for Tide to Go. The other integrations in the top five for 2005 were Crest Whitestrips in Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Adidas apparel in UPN's The Road to Stardom With Missy Elliott.

Martha Stewart's version of hit reality TV show The Apprentice will not be commissioned for a second series by US TV network NBC. The Apprentice: Martha Stewart failed to match the popularity of the original show fronted by tycoon Donald Trump, and NBC executives insist they only ever viewed it as a one season special. Stewart, who spent five months behind bars this year after being convicted of insider trading, has drawn in an average of 6.8 million American viewers - but her show will not return on NBC after its December 21 finale.

It's a fade out for The Apprentice: Martha Stewart after next month's finale. Sources said that NBC has passed on ordering another round of episodes of the Stewart-hosted edition of The Apprentice from Mark Burnett Prods. The spinoff has struggled for the peacock on Wednesday nights since its Sept. 21 premiere. A spokesman for NBC stressed Sunday that the show always had been scheduled to run for only one cycle. NBC and Apprentice executive producer Burnett tapped Stewart to helm the spinoff in an effort to capitalize on public curiosity about the lifestyle maven after her release this year from a five-month prison term for lying to investigators in connection with an insider-trading stock probe. Plans for Stewart to host the spinoff were announced in February while Stewart was behind bars in West Virginia (HR 2/03).

The Houston Astros may have scored their first World Series berth in the 43-year history of the ball club, but the game still didn't bring in as many fans as the turnout in primetime Wednesday for ABC's Lost. ABC's 9 p.m. monster led the network to victory for the night in the adults 18-49 demographic and total viewers. Lost reeled in 20.7 million viewers and 8.9 rating/21 share in adults 18-49, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. CBS' new drama Criminal Minds (12.4 million, 3.8/9) held up pretty well against Lost and baseball competition; NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart (6.8 million, 2.7/6) remained a distant fourth in the time slot. The presence of baseball in the 10 p.m. hour on Fox seemed to put a dent in the viewership for all three competing drama series, ABC's Invasion (11.5 million, 4.8/12), CBS' CSI: NY (13.7 million, 4.6/12) and NBC's Law & Order.

Heading into its fifth year, American Idol, Fox's hit show, has set a new milestone for network TV: a record-high price tag for a 30-second commercial unit. For the new fall season, the cost of a 30-second spot during the Wednesday installment of the program has surpassed the $700,000 mark. That's a first for any regularly scheduled primetime network series. Sources with firsthand knowledge of the numbers confirmed that the average price for a 30-second unit in the program is $705,000, up about 7% from a year ago. For the second year in a row, the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of American Idol are the most expensive shows on network TV (the Tuesday installment of Idol is going for $660,000 per :30). "Deservedly so," said Andy Donchin, executive vp/director of national broadcast at Carat, noting that they were the highest-rated shows of the 2004-05 season across most of the key metrics, including adults 18-49. Sources said Cingular Wireless, Coca-Cola and Ford, last year's major Idol advertisers, have all renewed their sponsorships. The highest-priced new show is NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, sources said, with 30-second units pegged at $310,000.

Martha Stewart will make her first late night talk show appearance since her release from prison and subsequent house arrest on CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman on Sept. 19, the first night of the 2005-06 television season. This will be Stewart's first late night talk show interview since serving a five-month prison sentence -- and more than five months of house arrest -- stemming from her conviction for lying to investigators in connection with a stock sale. Stewart's decision to make her return to late night with Letterman rather than NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is something of a surprise, given her new association with NBC as the host of a new version of The Apprentice this fall and her new daytime lifestyle show that NBC Universal's syndication division is distributing. The Sept. 19 appearance will mark Stewart's first visit to Late Show in more than three years, though she has been a frequent guest of the show in past years. Stewart has made some 23 Late Show appearances in interviews, comedy pieces and demonstrations since the show's premiere on CBS in 1993. Stewart last appeared on Late Show on May 17, 2002.
NEW YORK -- Martha Stewart and Mark Burnett won't reveal her catchphrase -- or even if there will be one -- at the end of her version of The Apprentice, which will debut next month on Wednesday nights on NBC. But they say the domestic doyenne has found a way to make the show her own -- apart from the Donald Trump version that is entering its third season. "It's a totally different feel," said Stewart, who appeared with Burnett and other Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia executives Thursday morning in the new Martha syndicated show studios in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. Apparently, Stewart's coup de grace to end each Apprentice episode surprised the producers, who weren't briefed on it. ("They were kind of pissed off at me," she said.) She wouldn't reveal any more about it but said it wasn't going to be Trump's catchphrase. "I don't think I've ever said 'You're fired, ' " Stewart said.

NEW YORK -- There won't be any "You're fired" when Martha Stewart takes the reins of The Apprentice this fall. The domestic doyenne will find her own way in her own reality series -- but she won't say what it is yet. The show will spotlight Stewart's working life and her attempts to find an aide through the TV process pioneered by Donald Trump through two seasons on NBC. "I think you'll find it quite different," Stewart said Wednesday during an appearance at the Promax&BDA conference in New York. But she wouldn't disclose what she will be saying when she lets go contestants (and it won't be in a boardroom, she confirmed). "I won't tell you. We're saving that for September" and the premiere, Stewart said.

NBC is bringing a reformed crook, a reformed overeater and mysterious creatures of the deep sea to its primetime lineup for the 2005-06 season. Sources said NBC has ordered at least three new comedies -- 20th Century Fox TV's My Name Is Earl, NBC Universal TV Studio's Thick and Thin and Warner Bros. TV's Four Kings -- and three new dramas -- Warners' E-Ring, Touchstone TV's Inconceivable and NBC Uni TV's Fathom -- for the coming season. The peacock kicks off a week of broadcast network upfront presentations Monday with its fall schedule unveiling for media buyers, major advertisers and industryites at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Sources said the peacock will emphasize its plans to launch new programming throughout the September-May season, which for NBC will include significant primetime pre-emptions from Feb. 10-16 for coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Indeed, some of the speculative NBC schedules making the rounds did not include My Name Is Earl or Four Kings on the fall lineup and had two versions of The Apprentice -- one hosted by Donald Trump, the other by Martha Stewart -- nailing down slots on Thursday and Sunday, respectively.

NEW YORK -- Acknowledging that its decadelong streak of dominance in primetime has ended, NBC charted its course for the comeback trail with six new series unveiled at its upfront presentation Monday at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. Facing a crowd of advertisers and assorted media, NBC Universal Television Group president Jeff Zucker candidly sized up the network's primetime fortunes, which dropped it from first to fourth among viewers ages 18-49. The network had maintained the lead in that key demographic going back to Seinfeld. "The truth is, it has been a tough year," Zucker said. "For the first time in 10 years, we come before you without a fantastic story to tell." With an emphasis on shoring up ratings shortfalls in the 8 p.m. time slots, NBC reloaded anchor slots Monday, where Fear Factor was benched until November in favor of undersea saga Fathom; Wednesday, where Martha Stewart will unveil her version of The Apprentice; and Friday, home to another new unscripted series, Three Wishes.

The syndicated Martha Stewart Living daytime strip got a quick hook from its station affiliates last year after its host went to prison, but Living still earned the trophy for best service show Saturday during the Creative Craft portion of the 32nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Saturday's win marked Martha Stewart Living's sixth triumph in the category. After more than a decade on the air, and nearly eight years as a Monday-Friday strip, Martha Stewart Living had a quick demise last season when Stewart was convicted of lying to prosecutors in connection with an insider stock-trading case. Stewart was released in March after serving a five-month prison term, and now is poised to redouble her TV efforts in the fall with the launch of a new syndicated daytime series produced by Mark Burnett for NBC Universal TV Distribution, and with a primetime gig as the host of a new rendition of The Apprentice, also for Burnett and NBC.
