more than 100 emails
ralph-mail4 June 2005
I remember yonder go, when the DVD first came out on the website, within a couple of weeks they ran out of stock, i saved up enough money (in $US) to purchase it, and when they said they have their stock replenished, i ordered my dad to help me order it, when telling him what it is that I wanted he kept thinking i wanted a program that could only send 100 emails. In the end I got the DVD, envy spread among friends. But, what I wasn't anticipating was it's awesomeness. It wasn't just the first 100 emails. It contained hidden easter eggs (well, duh, of course they are hidden), audio commentaries, 3 unreleased emails and cartoons, karaoke videos, music videos, behind the scenes footage, 3D generated menus, and it comes complete with it's "impress your friends" packaging. Truly, if anybody is a fan of the series, doesn't matter if you've seen the emails 5000 times each or more (or less), get this freaking DVD. you will not be disappointed, i know i wasn't.

Easily the freaking awesomest DVD of all time.
doggans16 April 2005
Every internet geek should be familiar with the genius of the Brothers Chaps and their Homestar Runner cartoons, which first became popular with the release of the Strong Bad Emails in 2002. This DVD collection features the first hundred installments of the usually-weekly short, plus audio commentaries, mockumentaries, puppet stuff, music videos, and more. Matt Chapman proves himself to be quite possible the most talented voice actor since Mel Blanc, and both Mike and Matt show their writing talent, with subtly clever satires on everything from music, to movies, to television, to video games, and most importantly, the Internet, and the Eighties.

Most of the easter eggs from the site are accessible on the DVD, and some new ones have also been included. All in all, this belongs in every Homestar fan's collection, and I hope we don't have to wait too long before the next batch of emails on DVD, or perhaps some of the other cartoons. (I think "Where's the Cheat" deserves to be on DVD, as well as the Marzipan Answering Machines.) It is now my intention to play video games for several hours.

The BEST show on the net!
FordPrefect-4217 May 2005
These shows are extremely funny. Sometimes just chuckle en-deucing, sometimes gut-wrenchingly hilarious! Strongbad is a midget jerk in a wrestling mask. Two brothers (Strongmad and strong sad) the main character Is... Homestar. You'll meet the other characters when you watch the toons.

Every week the "Brothers Chaps" make a new Strongbad email. The websites has toons and games and fan-sent art as well. You NEED to check this place out! Espessically if you aren't to old to not laugh at stuff that makes no sense sometimes! (Don't worry, nothing bad but still great!)

Very clever internet humor

Warning: Spoilers
Strong Bad is the lead character in the animated fictional world of Homestar Runner, in which he answers emails from fans throughout the world who have visited the actual website. The answers Strong Bad gives to these emails are each the subject of 100 comedic animations under one minute in length and are the centerpiece of this collection. Strong Bad is modeled after a Mexican wrestler from Nintendo's "Tag Team Wrestling", and the creators obviously like poking fun of 1980's era computing by featuring Strong Bad's computer the "Compy 386", and then when that computer is destroyed by a virus- and a shotgun - the "Lappy 486".

My favorite emails include:

"trevor the vampire"- An incomplete email from Trevor the Vampire has Strong Bad fearing the worst- that Trevor has been done in by vampire hunters!

"credit card"-Strongbad gets "phished" by someone seeking his credit card information & forwards the email to Homestar. Homestar gives out his credit card info and Strongbad proceeds to buy a spaceship, rocket launcher, killer robot, and 200 bean burritos using the information.

"techno"-Strong Bad gets an e-mail asking if he likes techno. He proceeds to make up and sing a techno song of his own, with accompanyment by The Cheat.

"english paper"- Strongbad writes an English paper for someone- convinced that the secret to success is to have a cool knickname- in this case "Kyle the Yellow Dart"-, and to tape some money to the last page of the report.

My personal all-time favorite is "dragon" in which Strong Bad displays his "skills as an artist" as he shows Strong Mad, Strong Sad, and CoachZ how to draw a dragon. Strong Bad names his own drawing "Trogdor the Burninator". Trogdor is mentioned on the series finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a tribute by Joss Whedon, who happens to be a big fan of Strong Bad.

In short, the Strong Bad emails are hilarious and are suitable for kids and adults alike. Strongly recommended.

Strong Bad e-mails on DVD!.
emasterslake26 May 2008
You've seen them on the web. Now experience watching the Strong Bad E-Mails on your own DVD player.

This is a collection of the first 100 e-mails from the Homestar Runner website. About a Mexican Wrestler Mask head bad dude with boxing gloves, Strong Bad. Who gets e-mails from actual people asking him questions or do something that involves schemes, products, businesses, interviews, dares, pranks, or tips. Taking place in Free Country, USA containing a whole cast of other non-reality characters.

These shorts were originally made from 2001 to 2004. Now you can be able to watch Strong Bad e-mails anywhere that has no internet connection. The real reason why this DVD is worth buying is it has bonus material and unreleased shorts you'll never see on the official website.

Including karaoke videos, 2 music videos, making of the 100th e-mail, and 4 never before seen Strong Bad e-mails! So those who like the Strong Bad e-mails will enjoy this DVD.

Strongbad E-Mail is really awesome
tommypezmaster25 September 2007
A show about 3 bad guys who share a house. A Mask-Wresilar, a Dim-Witted huge Human, and a Mini Dino (Strongbad, Strongmad, & The Cheat). They have crazy adventures together in a Homestar Runner spin-off with terrible quality: old house, moldy foods, odd games and activities, a 70's freak named Coach Z, and a sexy blond southern-bell. Along with the other show that was in the web site. (Homestar runner) with far better quality, and much neater. Strongbad seems to have a secret crush on Mazipan. Homestar Runner used to be a series by itself, until Strongbad E-Mail came in. This show deserves an A+.

this show can be funny and enjoyable but mostly to a select crowd the humor is very crude even though the political humor as overplayed as it is seems to be aimed at more of an adult audience a a the show primarily focuses on Strongbad in his own show checking his E-Mail, & then there's The Cheat who always help Strongbad with destroying Homestar & Strongmad who cannot speak in anything but grunts and mutters and is violently insane compared to most political humor TV shows this show is more childish than most and being a cartoon cannot always make fun of the current mistakes the president makes and has to focus on the more-well known mistakes that he has made in the past

Good, but......

I love the Strong Bad e-mails. Strong Bad is very funny. The DVD is fun to watch, and you will laugh at the e-mails. There are even extra e-mails that will manage to get a laugh from you. I can't choose a favorite, because they are all so good! However, I was disappointed because you can find the same thing on homestarrunner.com for free, and the website has games and more cartoons. There are simply not enough extras to fill your quench. All they offer are simple things such as a few extra cartoons, karaoke and new menus.

I'm not sure how I expected anything different from the website. I just did.

Besides, its annoying to switch between discs.

Go to the website-it's better.
