Now streaming on Screambox is the fan-made documentary focusing on the 80’s cult classic, Clue: The Movie.
In the spirit of The Shark Is Still Working (Jaws) and Back In Time (Back to the Future), Who Done It: The Clue Documentary is lensed by filmmaker fans who want to know the entire story of the production.
The doc features interviews with writer/director Jonathan Lynn and cast members Colleen Camp (Yvette), Michael McKean (Mr. Green), Lesley Ann Warren (Miss Scarlet), and Lee Ving (Mr. Boddy), among others.
“Clue is one of the most enjoyable, quotable and rewatchable films of the past 35 years,” director Jeff C. Smith originally stated when the project was announced. “When I couldn’t find the answers to questions I have always wondered (like who came up with Madeline Kahn’s amazing ‘Flames on the side of my face’ speech), I decided to go find out for myself.

When I was growing up on the Jersey Shore, mere miles from the 1916 shark attacks that Peter Benchley used as inspiration for his best-selling novel, Steven Spielberg’s Jaws had a profound effect on my summers. Whenever I was alone in the water, I inevitably began to fear that I was being stalked by something beneath the surface. The panic would grow and grow — as John Williams’ daaa-dum music grew louder in my head — until I finally felt compelled to make a break for it. Swimming for my life, my flailing arms furiously pounded the water and my lungs felt...

It’s been a good 12 months for Jaws fans. Steven Spielberg’s classic tale of a man-eating shark prowling the waters off of Amity Island had its Blu-ray debut last August and earned rave reviews not only for its restored image, but for packing in a boatload of extras for hard-core fans. The crown jewels of that set were two feature-length documentaries about the film – including the long delayed The Shark Is Still Working. While Tsisw was a truncated cut from the earlier prerelease edits some of us saw years ago, it was still an amazing tribute to the original summer blockbuster. However, if you’re as ravenous for Jaws lore as a great white is for baby seals and little kids on rafts, we’ve got some exciting news. Jamie Benning’s Inside Jaws: A...

Jaws is often cited as a turning point for mainstream American cinema – its record-breaking success at the box office marking it as, essentially, the first Summer blockbuster. Watching it now, however, what is striking is how different it is to so much of its progeny, and a large part of that is down to the skill and dedication of the young Steven Spielberg, who knew how to tease, manipulate and frighten an audience, but also knew how important it was that the audience cared about the characters first. By the end of the opening sequence, the 26-year-old Spielberg has you in the palm of his hand.
Take the attack on the Kintner boy. The placement of the scene, and its effect, is sometimes compared to Hitchcock’s shower scene, although the sequence is weighed much more towards build-up than pay-off. Roy Scheider’s cop, Police Chief Brody,...

Jaws
Do you really need another copy of Jaws? It is seen as the film that heralded in the modern blockbuster age, but it wasn't made with that intention, according to the comprehensive documentary, The Shark Is Still Working, which is included here.
While Jaws still seems fresh, in many ways it couldn't be more different from our current multiplex fodder. Is there any character as memorable as Quint in this summer's haul of movies? Any dialogue as impacting as his USS Indianapolis speech? You'd kill for such quality today. Jaws wasn't a hit because of the advertising, celebrity starpower, the simplicity of its concept or its distribution. It hit big because it's really, really good. It's astoundingly well made, with the fingerprints of a talented director, the then relatively unproven Steven Spielberg, all over it rather than bearing the uneven marks of being steered by a committee or market...

Jaws (1975) Universal Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo Available Now
Steven Spielberg’s classic thriller has been painstakingly restored from the original film elements. Amity Island has never been so beautiful. The movie itself seems to improve with age, with amazing performances and scenes that still manage to unnerve — Susan Backlinie’s death at the beginning is truly one of the most horrifying ever portrayed onscreen. Making this a true “special edition” is the long-awaited release of The Shark Is Still Working, an expansive documentary on the making and the impact of the 1975 film. All of the surviving cast and crew are interviewed along with several minutes of never-before-seen footage.
Special Features:
*Digitally remastered and fully restored from high resolution 35mm original film elements.

All good things come to those who wait. That being said the reason why Blu-ray was invented is finally here. Steven Spielberg's Jaws, arguably the first and the greatest summer movie ever made, in addition to being one of the best American films of all-time, has been given a complete digital 4K restoration derived from the original camera negative. The results are magnificent. A far cry from the McA DiscoVision laser disc, the Capacitance Electronic Disc (Ced) by RCA, the VHS tape, the 20th anniversary letterboxed laser disc, or even the past two previous DVD incarnations (which were admittedly pretty decent), the new Blu-ray most closely approximates what it was like to see Jaws for the first time in movie theaters in the summer of 1975. Best of all, the Blu-ray cover retains artist Roger Kastel’s iconic poster art.

Who knew that a movie about a shark, filmed in the 70s before the era of green screen and CG madness, would become one of the most memorable action films of all time?
Closing in on its 40th Anniversary, Jaws makes its way to Blu-ray as part of Universal’s 100th Anniversary series. The fully restored film has been remastered with 7.1 Audio and deservedly comes with a new feature-length documentary.
Jaws centers on the beachside community of Amity. When rumors of a shark attack begin to spread, the locals are more worried about the impact it will have on the summer vacation season and their businesses than the potential safety hazard of having a shark on their beach.
Unfortunately, tragedy strikes, forcing three unlikely allies to go head-to-head with Jaws, a great white shark. To this day, captivating performances by Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss keep Jaws on...

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, Jaws has arrived on Blu-ray for the first time. This is one of those releases that had me excited from when it was first announced. Jaws is such a classic film for so many reasons. It is the first "event" summer blockbuster movies, and is the film that solidified Steven Spielberg as the amazing director that he is. The film has a great eclectic cast, which includes Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, and Carl Gottlieb.
The story follows new police chief Martin Brody (Scheider) during what is supposed to be a relaxing summer on Amity's beach with plenty of sand and sun. Things change abruptly when a young woman's mangled body washes ashore. When Amity's medical examiner announces that the girl was killed by a shark, chief Brody jumps into action and...

Yeah, I could review the new Jaws Blu Ray. I really could, but I’m not going to. There’s absolutely nothing for me to tell you that you won’t soon see for yourself. The 100th Anniversary Universal releases are priced well, look great and you’ll pick this up for your collection or weep while you stare it down in your friend’s collection. Just buy it. Enjoy it. Make sure you watch it on competent video equipment with an overpriced sound system. Treat yourself. Treat the whole family, but most of all… treat the shark.
Today I’m hear to chat you up about the documentary include on the Blu Ray/DVD combo, The Shark is Still Working, one of the finest pieces of love created for Jaws fans since Lego Jaws. Truly you are getting two films for the price of one when you buy this...

Chicago – I’ve long argued that the main reason that Blu-ray sales didn’t instantly take off like purists argued that they should have was because too many people’s favorite movies weren’t even available on the format. Universal has gone a long way to fixing that problem in 2012 through their 100th Anniversary line of Blu-ray releases and today sees the company unveiling for the public what is unquestionably the Blu-ray of the year. “Jaws” is back, digitally restored in a way that’s truly difficult to put into words. You need to see it. You need to own it. Or your Blu-ray player isn’t doing its job.
Rating: 5.0/5.0
As for the movie itself, there are some films that I adore for which I’m open to debate or discussion about their potential flaws. “Jaws” is not one of them. The movie is Perfect. It’s one of...

Jaws. The first summer blockbuster. The first film to reap the benefits of a massive 400 theater opening weekend release. The first film to really set television into action as a home invading movie advertisement machine. The film that proved Steven Spielberg to be a true craftsmen at the helm of a major studio funded motion feature. The film that inadvertently closed the curtain on an era of unfathomable creative freedom by proving you could make insane amounts of money if a film can be marketed to every living person on the planet. And though in its wake major studio film culture has become synonymous with cheap popcorn thrills and overblown studio expenditures, Jaws remains a classic not just for how it changed the film industry, but because it is an exquisitely made monster movie that tapped into universal human fears and did so with iconic style.

In honor of Uniersal's 100th anniversary, many of their classics are getting Blu-ray treatment, but none of their releases compares to the HD version of the mother of all blockbusters, "Jaws."
The new release of Steven Spielberg's first mega-hit packs a full restoration, in addition to four hours of bonus features and an all new feature-length documentary "The Shark Is Still Working."
[ video unavailable on this device ]
To celebrate the release, we have an exclusive clip from that documentary. In it, the cast recalls improvising scenes on set while they waited for the shark to be ready.
One memorable scene in particular came straight out of those ad-libbing sessions. As Roy Scheider recalls in the clip, he had been sitting between takes with his young co-star Jay Mello, who played Brody's son Sean, when the boy started mimicking him. Scheider found the game so charming that he convinced Spielberg to include it.

Back in 1974 when production was first gearing up for Universal Studios' Jaws, Joe Alves knew that while the challenges they were facing to bring Peter Benchley's novel to the big screen were going to be huge, the rewards would be worth it.
That is, if they could survive their almost 160 day shooting schedule.
But of course Alves was right; Jaws went on to become the movie that launched the summer blockbuster and despite the passing of almost 40 years since its initial release, the Steven Spielberg-classic still remains one of the best and most critically-acclaimed movies ever made that has become the measuring stick for countless filmmakers out there who have stated it’s the one film that made them realize anything was possible once you step behind the camera.

Steven Spielberg's Jaws, the movie that pretty much single-handedly invented the summer blockbuster, is finally coming to Blu-ray next week as part of Universal's centennial celebration. Fans of the shark flick will be excited to see tons of bonus features packed into the release, including documentaries looking at the making of the film, its legacy, and the restoration process for Jaws' big Blu-ray debut. The folks over at Universal have sent along a preview clip from the documentary, "The Shark Is Still Working," which is included on the new Blu-ray. Here's a look at Craig Kingsbury, the real-life inspiration for the character of "Quint," played in the film by Robert Shaw. $sb("ci030_7754a5729a7dfb091f552df8ec568f81",{"sbFeed":{"partnerId":39,"type":"video","contentId":530383,"cname":"cinemablend"},"style":{"width":480,"height":320}}); google.load("ima", "1"); Kingsbury was ...

J. Michael Roddy was only six years old in the summer of 1975, but like the rest of the country, he developed shark fever after seeing Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. “There are two things that are really cool to a six year old boy, and that’s dinosaurs and sharks,” says Roddy. “I begged my parents to let me see Jaws, and it was the first time I remember being completely lost in a film. It changed my life.”
Roddy isn’t alone. Jaws changed a lot of people’s lives, beginning with the then 28-year-old Spielberg himself. But in The Shark is Still Working,...

If there's one man who knows the most about Jaws and its enduring legacy, even more so than director Steven Spielberg, it has to be Carl Gottlieb.
Not only did the writer/actor co-write the screenplay with Jaws novelist Peter Benchley, Gottlieb also starred in the film as local reporter Meadows and wrote the official book on what went into making the flick, The Jaws Log, which has been called one of the best 'making-of' books ever released by Hollywood heavyweights and fans alike since it was first published back in 1975.

Steven Spielberg's Jaws is swimming onto Blu-Ray next month, and it's kind of mind-boggling that it's taken this long. Jaws pretty much invented the summer blockbuster, is considered by many to be one of the best movies ever made (currently #133 on the IMDb Top 250), and is a movie that's just crying out for a high-def makeover. While we're waiting the few remaining weeks until the Blu-Ray release date, the folks over at Universal have posted a clip from the restored film, and it's all kinds of purty. Brody and Hooper's demands to close the beaches have never looked so good. And check out that anchor jacket! (Make sure to set the quality all the way up to 1080p.) Jaws hits Blu-Ray on August 14th, featuring an all-new restored and digitally remastered picture, plus 7.1 surround sound. The disc is also packing four+ hours of bonus features: The Shark Is Still Working...

The thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'. The ocean turns red, and despite all the poundin' and the hollerin', they all come in and they... rip you to pieces.

After Steven Spielberg confirmed that a Blu-ray of Jaws was in the works, Universal have now officially announced that Bruce the shark will be terrorising the swimmers of Amity Island in high definition on September 3, 2012.
Along with 12 other landmark films including Frankenstein and The Sting, the remastered Blu-ray release of Jaws will form part of Universal’s 100th anniversary celebration, with each of the films having been digitally restored and remastered from their original negatives. Jaws itself has been painstakingly restored frame-by-frame to remove dirt and scratches, with its Oscar winning soundtrack rejuvenated with a 7.1 sound mix and optimized for home theaters.
The entire restoration process has been supervised by Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, while the beard has promised fans that Jaws won’t feature any digital enhancements or disputable changes – presumably having learnt his lesson from the controversial re-releases of Close Encounters and E.T.

August 1-8, the Alamo is presenting a series of shark-related films that will get you out of the water and into a movie.
Every year, a certain nerdy TV channel stops airing clips of lions making love and boosts its ratings by devoting every moment of seven glorious days to nature’s rudest fish. The shark is like the Superfly of the sea, and the species’ amazing feats are as hypnotizing as they are horrifying. A couple of months ago we were talking about the sharkiest movies ever and we decided we should have our own Shark Week and to hell with everybody else.
On their Shark Week no one leaves the house. Everyone is glued to their sets, watching those damn teeth regenerate and those fins squirm. Well, not ours! We’re going to have a little fun this year, in what promises to be the first annual Shark Week at the Alamo.

It's hard to believe that it was 35 years ago today that Steven Spielberg revolutionized the film industry with the release of Jaws. I recall being a college student at the time, and while there was anticipation for the film because of the book's status as a best-seller, no one could believe the lines at the box-office. I saw the movie opening night in my hometown of Jersey City, New Jersey- and the next day my girlfriend and I went to the beach. The impact of the film was not lost on me. Although New Jersey has some of the finest, most popular beaches in the world, the water was pretty light on swimmers even though the beach was packed. So many people had seen the film opening night, or spread the word about its impact, that people were frightened to go into the water. We do have...

The 6th annual Portland Underground Film Festival is ready to once again take over the historic Clinton St. Theater for four straight nights of demented and deranged movies on June 10-13.
The big highlight of the event — from Bad Lit’s perspective — is the closing night film: The touching and heartwarming story of a man who became a beloved alien, clown and, most importantly, a vampire. That’s right, it’s Every Other Day Is Halloween, the documentary portrait of Dick Dyzel, who transformed himself into Bozo, Captain 20 and Count Gore DeVol on local Washington, D.C. TV.
As for the rest of the fest, there’s the always popular “Bike Porn” short film program; the made-in-Oregon feature The Corners; the Jaws documentary The Shark Is Still Working and more. Plus, don’t miss the short film program that includes Spree All the Way to Mexico, made by one of...
