Lots of twists and turns in this one
mitchrmp21 January 2013
Before he dies, an old man, Samuel Gould, admits that he knows beyond a shadow of doubt that Morgan Ames did not kill a man ten years ago, but he will not name the person who did.

There are a lot of twists and turns in this episode that I don't want to revel, so I cannot say too much in this episode. I will say, however, that the original killing had nothing to do what what Clayt later expected, but a recent killing had everything to do. Confused yet? Like I said, you just have to watch this episode. It will keep you guessing (okay, maybe not guessing but trying to figure out how it's revealed). I knew one was guilty, but then I thought the other was guilty. By the end, you figure out that I was right...

Clayt and the Marshal actually get along in this episode. Though there was opportunity to do so, Marshal Scott did not throw any verbal darts at Clayt.

Burden of Guilt
Prismark1022 September 2023
Clay Culhane helps get Morgan Ames (John Marley) released from prison after ten years for a crime he did not commit.

A man called Gould gives a dying confession that Ames was not the killer but does not say who the actual murderer was.

However there is no warm welcome for Morgan Ames in Latigo. He has a certain reputation and Marshall Gib Scott is wary of his return and so is Ames' daughter. She and her husband have been running Ames farm and do not want him back to take over the land.

However Ames is not in town for long. He is murdered in the Inn he is staying at and Clay Culhane thinks that the original killer might have silenced Ames for good.

A story where Clay Culhane has to solve two murders. What happened ten years ago and now. It could be two different killers.

I did think Ames murderer was not hard to figure although the motive might have been more difficult to guess.
