Where Have All the Floorboards Gone? (#10.8)
ComedyFan201025 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
It is Norm's birthday and as one of the presents Sam gets Kevin McHale personally give him a team jacket. But before he leaves Kevin gets into the trivia question of how many bolts are in the floor of Boston Garden basketball court. Now he is so into it he can't even play. So the guys try to count the bolts to calm him down.

Well the main story is not one of my favorites but it had some good moments. Mainly the ending when they walk around counting those bolts. Don't even know why they had to confess to Kevin they lied about the amount before! Lilith with her new hair was especially funny though. Now I think she still looked beautiful, but Frasier's reactions were too funny!

OK, why is Norm wearing a real Celtics jacket but not Kevin?

So, in this episode, Kevin McHale from the Celtics comes to Cheers to give Norm an official Celtics jacket for his birthday. When he does, Kevin is wearing a plain green and white varsity jacket with no Celtics logo or Celtics name on the back. Meanwhile, the jacket he gives Norm has both.

Is there a reason for this? Does the NBA have some deal that doesn't allow players to wear the logos? How come Norm's jacket had the logo and team name?

Also, why did they use the wrong number for both the floorboards and bolts to hold them down? It had to be easy enough to make a call and get the right number when they were writing the episode.

Are You Board?

Kevin McHale shows up again. He gives Norm a Celtics jacket for his birthday. This leads to a discussion of how many bolts there are in the Boston Garden which leads to the gang going to the Garden to count. But things go awry. I don't know if I cared much for this. I've been a huge Celtic fan my whole life, but there's too much celebrity in this one.
