Danny Tanner's big chance may be a big mistake
callanvass13 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Danny Tanner gets a chance of a lifetime to cover a boxing event. During the event, he accidentally reveals private information about boxer Reggie "The Sadman's" wife leaving him. Reggie flips his lid, and Danny becomes a laughing stock. Meanwhile, Jesse & Joey are forced to be the incumbent babysitters for the night. Unfortunately for them, things get worse when they have to treat Michelle's cold. This is another episode that is a bit too corny for my liking. It definitely has moments of entertainment, but it is instantly forgettable. You can't help but laugh at some of the ludicrous scenario's, especially Danny's situation. It just got to the point where I rolled my eyes. Bob Saget's interview segment with The Sandman grew increasingly aggravating. How is it that Danny got to continue being on the air after that inexcusable mishap? Ernie Hudson is terrific as the eccentric boxer. I also liked Jesse & Joey's storyline with Michelle. Watching them try to help Michelle feel better was amusing. D.J & Stephanie don't have much to do in this one. I thought this episode was watchable, not great. Too many hits & misses

Figthing a Cold
mitchrmp5 December 2013
Danny has a national fight to cover for his job. Jesse and Joey stay home with the kids to watch the fight. Michelle starts coughing, worrying her two babysitters.

Danny let's the truth slip out that the wrestler's wife has moved out and is filing for divorce. He gets pretty mad. When a fight breaks out, a tie tack Stephanie made for her father saved him from being hurt.

The cuteness continues as Jesse and Joey figure out the parenting thing. Michelle has her first cold. They call the doctor and are told to give Michelle cough medicine. The cough medicine episode made it into later flashback episodes (two, I believe).

This episode is not one of my favorites, either. Except for the Michelle stuff, it was pretty boring.

The Uncut Version is the Best One.
Movie-ManDan3 March 2016
I have seen every episode of Full House many, many times. I've seen them all on DVD and Netflix maybe two or three times, the rest have all been on TV. It's been a long time since I've seen the uncut version of this, but I do remember liking it more than what was being shown on TV. The uncut version cuts maybe 1 minute of material. This extra minute made the episode better.

Danny is chosen to do a live sports interview with famous boxer Reggie "Sandman" Martin (played by Ernie Hudson) who is coming out of retirement. Danny makes a complete fool of himself after he blabs that the Sandman's wife is leaving him. Meanwhile at home, the girls want to watch their father on TV, and Jesse and Joey tend to Michelle with a cough.

This is said to be a rather generic episode, (except for the parts that deal with Michelle) but I actually liked the whole thing. Danny's embarrassing moment on TV is just as funny as the Michelle bits.
