Some gracious southern hospitality
bkoganbing20 December 2016
Some more inspiration from the big screen was the source of this Laredo episode. Someone saw You Can't Take It With You and brought the Vanderhof family south of the Mason-Dixon line and set them in Laredo. The Culpeppers formerly of Louisiana have nothing on the Vanderhofs for gracious living and for suspension from reality.

But reality is intruding on them as one of their family Parley Baer has sold the property on which their faux southern ante-bellum mansion is. So Walter Coy of the railroad asks Philip Carey to send some of his best Texas Rangers to evict the Culpeppers. Carey does do that, he sends them one at a time starting with Neville Brand.

What can I say, this Vanderhof like family just disarms all before them as Captain Parmalee keeps losing his best Rangers to them.

The Vanderhofs oops Culpeppers are played by Don Beddoe, Jeanette Nolan, Gillian Tomlin, and as an Indian known only as "Noble Savage" Russ McCubbin.

This late arrival in the series history is one of my favorites. I think it will be one of your's.
