Duck That Opening

Catch that opening. I thought I'd stumbled on WWIII. But then the hook is needed considering the next 10-minutes is snappy talk with Pete, Jacoby, and Edie. Good thing their chemistry is so compelling. Seems a gang of baddies has stolen a bunch of money that Pete's helping Jacoby track down. I'm not sure what the idea with the foreign king is, but it doesn't add much to the results. However, 40's aficionados can scope out the inimitable Milton Parsons as the tipster and some kind of greenhouse nut. His creepy face and skeletal frame are unforgettable; it's good seeing him pick up a payday. But, really, Warren Kemmerling (Bennett) deserves triple pay for all his stunt work, including a big fight with Pete, plus acrobatics across a monolithic building. Speaking of that building, I wouldn't be surprised it's an outside part of MGM studio. All in all, the episode appears formulaic, but with the usual series style and color.
