Marks the debut of Terrence and Philip
gangstahippie24 September 2008
Death is the sixth episode of South Park. It's a very funny episode and marks the debut of the foul-mouthed canadians Terrence and Philip. The episode spoofs what happened when South Park first came out, with angry parents rioting.Kyle's mom sees Terrence and Philip, bans all the other kids from watching the show and gets a bunch of parents to try and take the show off the air.Funny thing about it is, while they are blaming the show for fart-jokes, the parents make fart-jokes themselves when they all find themselves with diarrhea(courtesy of Kenny).Meanwhile, Stan's grandpa is 102 years old and wants Stan to kill him.Stan is worried about helping his grandpa die and is hesitant to do it.Eventually he agrees to(after grandpa shows him how he feels, by playing crappy music) and Death comes along. However Death does not want to kill grandpa.Death is a great episode! Kyle's mom trying to ban terrence and philip would later be used as the plot for the South Park movie.

"I'd never kill somebody; not unless they 'tick' me off"

This episode tackles two very controversial topics; assisted suicide and censorship. On the one hand we have Stan's 102 year old grandpa asking for Stan's help in killing him. The other story line has the kids watching Terrance and Phillip, the vulgar Canadian cartoon and Kyle's mom freaking out. (This is South Park making a parody of themselves) She gets the towns parents to boycott the network. While protesting, half the town catches Kenny's explosive diarrhea and the other half catapult their bodies against the network building. While this is going on, Death shows up and chases the boys, then Grandpa chases him. Death doesn't kill Grandpa but he does kill Kenny.

"I think I caught the flu from little Kenny. I have the green apple splatters"-Mr. Garrison

"Kyle's mom is a stupid b ****"-Cartman (this would later be said in many episodes and be turned into songs)

Kyles Mom is a Dirty (lady)

She sure is. She sucks, she always has, I can't stand her, regardless, one of the earlier seasons better episodes. We get Terrance and Phillip, Grandpa Marsh, dead Kenny. All good stuff. Matt and Trey also touch heavily on the meta side of their show, fart jokes are funny, and they always will be. 7.9.

Death (#1.6)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode keeps South Park on top of the game with hilarious jokes, soon to be classic characters and addressing a bunch of social issues with their special humor.

One of the stories in it is Stan's grandpa wanting to die and them trying to figure out if assisted suicide is acceptable. I like how they change their mind on it several times through the episode and each time the reason they did is pretty funny.

And we get to see Terrence and Philip! This causes Kyle's mom (one of the funniest parents in my opinion) to go to protest it with other parents so that the show gets pulled of the air. This is incredibly hilarious, with them dying for the kids.

Brilliant!

Most people say the early seasons of Southpark aren't that good. I beg to differ. I think it's probably some of their best stuff!

Take this episode: On the one hand, we have the brilliant hypocrisy of the parents who want to cancel Terrence and Philipp for their "toilet humour" while using strange euphemisms for diarrhea (given to them by Kenny) throughout the episode, never once realising it (plus, it's of course a wink at the show itself).

Then we also have the other storyline that involves Stan and his grandpa who wishes to die. It's as tasteless as it is hilarious, especially when grandpa explains what it's like to be old (basically, it's like an Enya song^^)!

I really miss when the show had this subtle meta humour that you could enjoy while at the same time, you could simply enjoy it as a cheap toilet humour show as well. It has de-volved since then.
