"Two Bad Neighbors" portrays how even a President can be brought down to the level of a joke.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode showcases the level of stupidity one person can have... in this case pertaining to the idiocy that is the character of President George Bush. Not only does Bush bring himself down to Homer's level to fight and bicker with him, but is bested by Homer and loses against him on numerous occasions. Basically, Bart screws up Bush's memoirs, resulting in the president to get ticked off and slap Bart on the buttock. Bart ends up complaining to his dad... and the scuffle between Homer and Bush starts. Homer stands outside Bush's house and rings his bell... he places two cardboard cut-outs of what are supposed to be idiotic replicas of Jeb Bush and George W. Bush, Bush's equally moronic sons. Bush is so stupid, he easily falls for the prank and opens the door... getting his hair colored rainbow as a paint bucket spilled on top of his head. Bush goes over to Homer's lawn and begins driving around on the lawn, spraying dirt all over and making a mess. Then, he leaves to return home... and notices Homer in a sewer. The two begin to fight and Homer seems to get the better of him, beating the life out of him. Gorbachev comes to visit Bush and sees him brought down to the level of a doofus and laughs as Bush is forced to apologize to Homer. Bush then leaves the town and President Ford moves in... who seems to get along well with Homer. Awesome writing; details just how moronic some people are in life... be it a president or a regular guy.

Former President George Bush Senior moves into Evergreen Terrace.

This is a solid parody with strong character moments.

You would expect this episode to contain lots of political satire but it does not. It's basically a gentle ribbing of the guest Bush's personality with an comically exaggerated characterisation. The 'Dennis 'tribute is a great idea and drives the plot well.

Bush is used superbly as a memorable guest character and regulars like Homer, Bart, and Flanders are written well to maximise his presence. I particularly liked the moment when Ned and George meet each other for the first time.

For me it's a 7.5/10 but I round upwards.

Excellent episode but a bit complicated

This episode is great but not the best episode of the series, the episode follows George W.H. Bush being the neighbor of the Simpsons, they fight, they begin war for each other when George meets his New arch-nemesis Bart and Homer, when Bart comes over to meet him, Bart accidentally broke his memorials, then he hated The Simpsons, then he begins to break their lawn but Barbra on the other hand, doesn't care. They fight under the sewer and then his lawyer meets him and replaced With Gerald Ford, a comparison to Homer and former president, then at the end Homer hangs out With him and lived happily ever after

Weak

Couldn't stand George H. W. Bush, but the portrayal here seemed cheap and unfair. Bart is portrayed as a thug with no sense of decency. I'm a big fan of the Simpsons but couldn't really get into this one. It isn't funny.

Why is this praised?

What a garbage episode. Bush moves in, Homer and Bart make his life a living hell. That's it. It is completely pointless. I heard this episode was made after Bush stated that America needs to be more like The Waltons and less like The Simpsons. This episode just proves his point.

What happened

There seems to be much praise for Two Bad Neighbors, from the seventh season of The Simpsons. I saw it upon its debut, and to be honest, really I'm a huge fan of The Simpsons but this episode was really quite weak, and it's hard for me to give anything more than four stars. What were they thinking, you must ask. Anyway, I would have preferred if all the shenanigans were all a dream, like Homer dreaming it like what happened in Dallas. But I'm afraid I cannot say anything kind about this episode even though the first 10 seasons represent the golden era for sure, but I guess there are blips init.
