Story told in ten minutes
blumdeluxe28 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"Death Row" tells the story of a formerly bullied prisoner who seeks revenge and goes on a killing spree, desperate to take the lives of as many prisoners and guards as possible during a program in an abandoned prison.

The movie tells its story more or less in the first ten minutes, everything that follows are just numberous repetitions of the same thing without much tension or any lessons to be learned. While there is some thought behind the killer getting away with it, some of the characters behave amazingly dumb and make you question how serious you can take the plot. The film is clearly low budget, which excuses some of the weaknesses, but nontheless a bit more twists and creativity would haver helped to prevent one and a half hours of the same thing over and over again. You do grow some dislike towards the killer, but who wouldn't under the given circumstances.

All in all this is only something for fans of low budget killing sprees, everyone else will find better movies to invest time in. As always, though, this is just my opinion and if you're eager to watch, go give it a try.

Mildly amusing

Warning: Spoilers
DEATH ROW is an indie horror/slasher flick about a bunch of convicts who visit an abandoned prison as part of a work programme. While there they begin to be murdered by persons unknown. I found this mildly amusing for an independent production and the real-life prison setting helps a lot. The film does suffer from having a slow pace and some overworked acting, as well as death scenes which are anything but realistic, but you could do worse.

Worst Movie Ever Made.

Warning: Spoilers
This is the worst film I have ever seen. My friend and I enjoy watching horrible films and making fun of them, so in that respect, we had a good time. The writing, acting, directing, location and editing were unspeakably horrible. The entire film could have been shot on a tripod or security camera and it could not have been any worse for it. The concept of passing time did not apply as it seemed that every second of the time-line was covered. If you need to learn how to put chloroform on a rag in a bag, we watch the killer do this on three to four occasions in real-time for no apparent reason other than to fill time.

The creators obviously did no research on police procedure or what is said or not said over a police radio. I was begging for the fast forward button as the killer is talking over the walkie pretending to be injured to lure his victims for a chloroforming and either stabbing in the gut, throat slashing, or shooting to the head. Killing 12 guys at your disposal in an abandoned prison should afford more interesting murder methods. High School adolescents could have written a better screenplay.

Guards usually don't fire sidearms indoors to break up minor scuffles between inmates, or randomly point their weapon at inactive, obedient convicts. What could have been interesting with a character based approach was horribly dependent on a plot twist that was more like the sound of air being let out of a balloon. A rating of 1 is a compliment.

Oh My!

I'm not sure what movie this other guy was watching, but this is an outstanding accomplishment in low budget cinema. The visuals are very powerful, giving you the feeling of fear as the camera follows the actors around this creepy abandoned prison. The soundtrack to this movie will keep you jumping at every high tension moment as your speakers erupt with the sounds of gunfire(Dolby 7.1 speakers recommended). Let us now move on the real star of the show.... the plot. The writers obviously poured their hearts and souls into this project, as is obvious through the meticulous storytelling that leaves no stone unturned. They explore the emotions and thoughts that anyone would have if they were placed in this most terrifying of situations. All in all this is one of the greatest movies that I have seen in years. I would have to go as far as to say that this makes Kill Bill look like Sesame Street. Enough said, rush to the store and BUY(no rentals here, worth at least 3 viewings to fully appreciate the story) this movie NOW!!!!!!!! P.S. Todd Bridges turns in a phenomenal performance. Can you say Oscar?

Good film, those other comments don't know what they are talking about!!

I hate when I read a review and some guy is trying to compare a low budget horror film to "Gone with the Wind" It's a low budget horror film you idiots. Have you ever tried making a film? The Quiroz Brothers have an audience...a big audience...every guy that goes to college and smokes a little weed in between exams. That's it! Nothing more! The film is meant to be fun, silly, crazy and might scare you a little...making a film for 20k is tough, trust me I've done it and its no walk in the park. Who gives a crap about police protocol? The great thing about movies is they are FANTASY! They are meant to take you away from REALITY..There are no rules in film making, the only rule is that there are no rules...just watch "Boffo Tinseltown"...some of the greatest directors and producers will say the same thing. There are no secrets, no one in film-making knows what is going to be a hit or even be good...Paranormal whatever or that other horror picture that make a billion dollars...There are no rules, don't be mad at the Quiroz brothers for breaking them...they have 17 straight to video films...looks to me they are have an audience
