I don't know if I haven't had enough chills from watching the show already, imagine the chills that I had when the announcer over the opening credits said that the program was now in color. The previous episode was filmed in color but only the Black and White Version apparently survived, but the impact is really felt by watching the previous end in black and white and seeing it again in color. Maggie has walked into the Blue Whale, and of course Barnabas is Ashen even more so by this return. The effects outside the window appearing to be frog are more obviously phony by the color photography, and that makes it very humorous to watch.
Dr. Hoffman comes back into the story as Barnabas confronts her and briefly you get to see her fear as what he could possibly do to her. Once again, she's one step ahead of him, and is able to buy time after he threatens her, fortunately saved by the bell by bring up the telephone. With the addition of color, the details of the show will be more obvious, and it's certainly going to be more fun and even kept your to watch. But somehow the elements of the gothic spookiness will disappear with the foggy black and white photography that indicated a cheapness on the show, necessitated by changes in the industry.
