Exclusive: The Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin-hosted version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is officially coming to ABC after the Disney-owned network handed the show a series order.
It comes nearly a year after ABC revealed that the show was in development with new hosts after its brief dalliance with HGTV.
Shearer and Teplin created the global lifestyle brand The Home Edit and previously fronted two seasons of Netflix’s Get Organized with the Home Edit.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition previously ran on ABC between 2004 and 2012 before being canceled. The Warner Bros. Discovery cable network aired one season of a reboot, hosted by Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, in 2020.
The show will now return in the 2024/25 season. It is ABC’s latest unscripted order; Deadline revealed that Shaquille O’Neal and Gina Rodriguez are hosting game show Lucky 13 from exec producer Kevin Bacon last week and it has...
