One Question: Why???
kobedawson8 October 2022
This episode is getting six stars because of the animation/art, music and voice acting that was put into this episode, other than that this episode was hard to watch. I don't completely hate this episode because there are much worst in this show, but this was insufferable to say the least.

So basically Part 1, is Spongebob falling in love with a Krabby Patty(aka a Hamburger) and just keeping it around through 90% of the episode and by the end, he finally forgets it and comes to his senses even though most of the episode just made Spongebob look stupid in a bad way. This was probably the most unrelatable and unrealistic Spongebob has looked towards the audience.

Then the Squidward episode, where he becomes nice. Now to be fair, making Squidward the opposite of who he usually is, was a great idea and could've been a great episode if it was done right. But again, Spongebob ruins the episode by being an insufferable pain and completely belittling Squidward for no reason outside of jealousy. I guess you could look at it as a great idea, because both Squidward and Spongebob were both out of character and were the opposite of who they truly were, but it was just an annoyance for me as I watched.

Breath of fresh Squidward...

Warning: Spoilers
This is my least favorite episode of SpongeBob Squarepants by far. I'm really surprised that it's not mentioned by other people, because this is a special kind of terrible. I loathe this episode SO MUCH, that It made me stop watching this show for a very long time. The beginning starts with Spongebob and Patrick in Squidward's house while he's sleeping. (Stalker alert!). When he wakes up he asks what happens if they intrude in his house, and Spongebob literally repeats what happens saying "When we annoy Squidward a rain cloud storms over his brain cells and it needs to shelter itself." I'm paraphrasing, but that means that Spongebob KNOWS that he's causing grief to Squidward, but doesn't care. So, Squidward builds a electric fence to keep Spongebob and Patrick out, but there already inside, so as Squidward tries to leave the fence electrocutes him and he starts to act like Spongebob. So in a house party when Squidward gets tons of respect, Spongebob literally yells at him and drives him out of the party. (I hate this sponge). So when Spongebob goes to "apologize" to Squidward the electric fence shocks them all and everyone's personality changes to Squidward. Even when I was younger I've always hated this episode with a burning passion. It was worse than One Course Meal, Pet Sitter Pat, A Pal for Gary, Demolition Doofus, and even Choir Boys. As of today, this is my least favorite SpongeBob Squarepants Episode.

Entertaining

I for my self really like this episodes and don't understand why there are the mixed reviews. It makes fun too watch this and it has got clever writing. There just some morally reprehensible parts too if you look at Spongebob's behavior in the 2nd epiode.

Am I finding this double series distracting by any means?

Warning: Spoilers
Breath of Fresh Squidward is a bit of a debbie-downer.

I'm not gonna go into details, especially with how it ended.

Overall, let's just say the ending kind of killed the mood.

To Love a Patty.

I can find this either weird, downright crazy, or just plain strange.

But let's get through the big elephant in the room.

The part where the Krabby Patty was being swarmed by baby clams. Right?

Remember the episode Rock-A-Bye-Bivalve? Yeah...the one where Spongebob and Patrick had to take care of A BABY CLAM!?

Spongebob in this episode kills a BUNCH of baby clams, not just one, A LOT...and yet, doesn't really acknowledge in remembering that he had took care of one and let it go at the end of the episode. What if the one Spongebob killed was Junior amongst them?

Apparently, bivalve "child" murder is okay to be featured on this show.

It's amazing that the creators of Spongebob somehow get away with this...and not remotely look at what kind of consequences this would bring.

Warning: Spoilers
To Love a Patty - Has its funny moments and an entertaining plot. I actually think the ending is alr but it is a bit too slow tbh. Didn't find it gross, and SpongeBob going slowly insane was funny. The clam killing scene was actually good imo, it just showed how insane SpongeBob was going.

This is an episode I don't care for that much though, but again, it's definitely not as bad as people say, and I don't even think it's bad.

5.5/10 (High Meh)

Breath of Fresh Squidward - This episode is hilarious and has a great plot with SpongeBob losing everything he likes, this leading to him getting angry at Squidward. Overall a very clever role switching episode with some great jokes, easily top 50 of the series imo.

9/10 (EXCELLENT)

(5.5 + 9) : 2 = 7.25/10 -> 7/10.
