The jokes will extend well past April 1st on HBO and HBO Max.
“Barry” returns for its fourth and final season. After the shocking Season 3 finale which saw Barry (Billy Hader) getting arrested and Cousineau (Henry Winkler) being hailed as a hero, there will be plenty of consequences for both. The dark comedy premieres on April 16 with two episodes.
“A Black Lady Sketch Show” will also bring plenty of laughs when it returns for its fourth season. The sketch comedy series premieres April 14.
On the drama side, the limited series “Love and Death” premieres on April 27. It’s based on the true story of Candy (Elizabeth Olsen) and Pat Montgomery (Patrick Fugit) and Betty (Lily Rabe) and Allan Gore (Jesse Plemons) – two churchgoing couples enjoying their small-town Texas life… until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.

With its list of new releases for April 2023, HBO Max is premiering the final episodes of two major shows.
First up is the continuation of Titans season 4 on April 13. Returning after a four month hiatus, these next six episodes will be the last go around for HBO Max’s gritty live-action DC series. Arriving three days later on HBO proper is the fourth and final season of Barry. Bill Hader and the rest of the Barry team wrote themselves into a fascinating corner with the conclusion of season 3. And judging by the first teasers for season 4, this final batch of episodes will indeed catch up with our favorite actor/hitman in prison.
Other TV shows of note this month include the Pete Davidson-starring animated series Fired on Mars on April 20 (light ’em up) the the Elizabeth Olsen-starring true crime story Love & Death on April 27.

HBO Max offers this description of the fourth and final season’s remaining episodes: “The Titans – with the exception of Gar – are returned to the Temple of Trigon and rush to find Sebastian and Mother Mayhem before Sebastian summons Trigon. In the final season of HBO Max’s “Barry,” premiering on April 16, Barry’s arrest for the murder of Cousineau’s girlfriend leads to a shocking conclusion. Barry (Bill Hader), a hitman who stumbles into acting, explores the dark, often comedic underbelly of both LA gangsters and Hollywood. Henry Winkler stars as Cousineau, Barry’s acting teacher and the man forced to confront the reality of his former student.
Watch the “Barry” season 4 trailer:
Another crime story will come to HBO Max in April, although this one is based on a true story. “Love & Death” revolves around the murder of Betty Gore (played by Lily Rabe) in a small Texas town in 1980. Her husband Alan (Jesse Plemons) has an affair with Candy (Elizabeth Olsen), who attends their church. Suddenly, the thrills turn deadly. Candy picks up an ax, whacks her rival over 40 times, and then claims self-defense. The new...

Another red band trailer for "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard" has made its way out. Debuted via Funny or Die, this latest sneak peek at the comedy is relatively shorter than the first red band trailer released months before. Though so, it still manages to let out a number of never-before-seen footage from the film.
Contrary to the previous trailer which focuses on introducing Jeremy Piven's character Don Ready, this new one highlights on how Ready psyches up his sales team to turn a failing auto dealership's Fourth of July sale into major profitable event. The restricted promo video also gives out more on the dinner table scene where Ready tells his ragtag crew what they should prepare for the next day.

A red-band trailer has gone online for the Jeremy Piven-starring The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, and it makes the used car dealership comedy look like an effective broad comedy. The plot's simple really: Piven and the gang are wheeled in to bail out an ailing car dealership over the big July 4 weekend. Cue comedy, racist humour, smoking on airplanes and Piven proclaiming, "I have hair on my balls and I sell cars. The end."Originally called The Goods: The Don Ready Story (echoes of Anchorman: The Ron Burgundy Story there) the film's out on August 14 in the Us but doesn't yet have a release date here.

One of them which is an approved for all audiences trailer is presented by Moviefone, while the other is a restricted trailer that comes out courtesy of MySpace. Warner Bros. is moving up the release date for literary adaptation "The Time Traveler's Wife" from next year to Aug. 14.
To facilitate its move, Warners will delay releasing fantasy sequel "Final Destination: Death Trip 3D" until Aug. 28. "Death Trip" had been set to unspool on Aug. 14; "Traveler's" was an unslotted 2010 title.
Starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, "Traveler's" is a romantic drama based on a best-selling novel by Audrey Niffenegger. Its screenplay was written by Bruce Joel Rubin ("Stuart Little 2"), with Robert Schwentke ("Tattoo") directing.

Ken Jeong has finally ascended to one of the key levels of celebritydom: getting recognized on the street. Sort of. "I'm getting, like, 'I've seen you in some stuff; I don't know who you are, but you're really funny,' " the actor says with a laugh. It's likely these would-be fans caught one of Jeong's scene-stealing performances in a trio of recent hits. He portrayed surly ob-gyn Dr. Kuni in 2007's Knocked Up and followed up with roles as the grim assassin in Pineapple Express and the haughty king in Role Models. All three characters are antagonists — villains, if you will — but Jeong doesn't necessarily see it that way. "In my opinion, I don't think Dr. Kuni's a villain," he says. "I just thought of him as having a bad day. He's just tired. Or he had reasons to be kind of a dick. I guess that's a good way...

Inglourious Basterds will march into theaters nationwide on Aug. 21, 2009, distributor The Weinstein Company announced today. The World War II action picture marks the seventh feature from writer-director Quentin Tarantino and its cast includes Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger and Mike Myers. Also scheduled for Aug. 21 are Warner Bros.' horror sequel Final Destination 4 3D and Paramount Pictures' comedy The Goods: The Don Ready Story, featuring Jeremy Piven, which moved to the date earlier this week after being previously set for April 24. G.I. Joe, another military action picture, opens earlier that month, though it only superficially compares to Inglourious Basterds. Two other Paramount pictures shifted dates this week as well: Dance Flick and Case 39. The Wayans Bros.' Dance Flick jumped from Feb. ...

Paramount Pictures has just unveiled their 2009 preview and in rather lackluster form I may say as new images from anticipated features such as Martin Scorese's Shutter Island, Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones and Star Trek were nowhere to be found. Fanboy favorites such as G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen also saw zilch in the updated imagery department. We do, however, have new pics from Eddie Murphy's next kid flick, the previously titled Nowhereland, now labeled as Imagine That and to be honest that is about as exciting as it gets in the updates department. All the cast, director and synopsis information is listed over the course of the next few pages as well as all the release dates for 15 new features. Surprisingly enough, only one of them is actual a Paramount Pictures solo release as the majority of these belong to their previous partner DreamWorks.

Fox has inked a talent holding deal with Broadway's "Boeing-Boeing" co-star Kathryn Hahn.
Hahn had been on the radar of Fox's head of casting Marcia Shulman since her days at Yale School of Drama, when the actress was a standout at the school's annual showcase for agents and TV executives.
Hahn landed a co-starring role on NBC's "Crossing Jordan" shortly after graduating. For six seasons, she played Lily Lebowski on the crime drama, drawing the attention of Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly, who ran NBC Entertainment for half of the "Jordan" run.
Hahn's deal with Fox marks a rare talent pact as the broadcast networks have been scaling back in the past few years.
"In a time when there is less money for such deals, we're taking really specific shots, and Hahn was one that both Kevin and I wanted to pursue," Shulman said.

Fox is boldly going with a newcomer as the lead of one of its hottest comedy pilots.
After his first studio and network test, Ben Koldyke has landed the central role in "Boldly Going Nowhere," which also has tapped "Arrested Development" alum Tony Hale.
The high-concept comedy, from the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" trio of Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton, is about what happens day-to-day on an intergalactic spaceship helmed by a rogue captain (Koldyke).
Hale, repped by Icm and Framework, will play the ship's robot, who thinks he's superior to the human race. He next appears in the features "The Informant," "The Goods: The Don Ready Story" and "The Dream of the Romans."
Koldyke's casting stems from a chance meeting two years ago at the Rose Cafe in Venice, Calif., where "Philadelphia" creator-star McElhenney regularly had breakfast.
That day, instead of the check, McElhenney was given an anonymous note -- "Hey,...

- The good news is they ain't shutting down, The bads news is... There is a changing of the guard in the Indiewood landscape. Studio's Indie divisions are being either shut down or morphed, and a combo of hiring and firing is now the mainstay. We don't need to list those that have bit the dust since the start of the year, but this week I was perplexed by an unexpected move from an indie-label that had a great year in 2007, at least in terms of critical acclaim. While they aren't throwing in the towel (as wildly speculated), Paramount Vantage is officially changing their course, Paramount made the choice to cut costs by merging the marketing dept's together and now, Amy Israel has been given her walking papers, being replaced by a former New Line exec who chaperoned some prestige specialty films, but genre flicks as well. Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms are getting ready to have a "Hangover."
The pair is in final negotiations to star in the Todd Phillips bachelor-party comedy, about three friends who lose the groom at their Vegas fandango two days before the wedding. The third lead role has yet to be cast.
The project, a spec which Warners acquired from Jon Lucas and Scott Moore last fall, is moving forward quickly, with cast and crew now entering preproduction.
Legendary Pictures will finance and co-produce the comedy. Phillips will direct and produce under his Green Hat Films banner; Dan Goldberg will produce and Scott Budnick will exec produce.
The project marks Helms' first lead feature role to date. The "Daily Show" and "Office" veteran has roles in the upcoming Eddie Murphy comedy "Meet Dave" and Neal Brennan's "The Goods: The Don Ready Story."
Cooper next stars in Christian Alvart's "Case 39" for Paramount and Warners' Jennifer Aniston-toplined romantic comedy "He's Just Not That Into You."

Kathryn Hahn has been cast in Paramount Vantage's The Goods: The Don Ready Story for director Neal Brennan.
Goods marks the third major feature project for the Crossing Jordan alumna in the past six months, after her roles in Sam Mendes' Revolutionary Road for DreamWorks and Adam McKay's Step Brothers for Columbia, which is produced by Judd Apatow.
Goods, the first comedy under Paramount Vantage's deal with Will Ferrell and McKay's Gary Sanchez Prods., centers on Don Ready (Jeremy Piven), a used-car liquidator hired to save a struggling dealership during a Fourth of July weekend sale. Hahn will play the only woman on his team of mercenary car salesmen. Filming on the movie is scheduled to begin in December in Los Angeles.
Hahn, who played Lily Lebowski on Jordan for six years, is repped by Gersh and attorney James Adams.
