After almost a year of radio silence, we have some good news to report about Leverage: Redemption.
The fan-favorite reboot has been renewed for a third season, which is set to air in 2024.
There is a significant change on the horizon for the series.
It will no longer be a Freevee original and has been shifted to Prime Video for the next season.
No reason for the change in streaming home has been given, but it's probably thanks to the devoted audience that has embraced the show since it premiered in July 2021.
Reboots are tricky to pull off, with many imploding once the initial curiosity factor wears off.
But fans have connected with this revamped series, thanks to its featuring many franchise veterans and new characters to tell a different story.

If you've been dying to watch the first four seasons of the Magnum P.I. reboot but haven't been able to find it, then this is the news you've been waiting for.
According to TV Line, the first four seasons of the Jay Hernandez procedural will be available to stream on the Amazon-owned Freevee beginning Friday, September 1, 2023.
The first four seasons will be available to stream for free with ads, but if you've been keeping up with shows like Almost Paradise, then you're probably aware the ads are not as bad as they could be.
News of the show landing a new streaming home comes as the series prepares for its last-ever episodes on NBC.
Magnum P.I. has had a long and storied history, having begun its life on CBS.
At the time of its cancellation, observers and fans were shocked because the Hawaii-set drama was one of the network's most-watched shows.

[This interview was conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike authorization.] [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers from all of Almost Paradise Season 2.] “Let’s go steal…” Those are three words that every Leverage fan knows well but has never heard come out of Christian Kane‘s mouth — until his other Freevee series, Almost Paradise. In Season 2 (all 10 episodes of which are now available to stream), there are a few things that will be very familiar to Leverage (and Redemption) fans, from flashbacks with the stars in different roles to a casino heist, especially considering the common threads of Kane and executive producer Dean Devlin. “We didn’t really try to remind people of Leverage. We actually stole from Leverage,” Kane told TV Insider with a laugh. “Dean Devlin got his hands on that one, and he said, ‘Nope, this is Leverage, and we’re just going to make it Leverage.‘ And it was so much fun.” The star then went ...

Christian Kane has played essentially the same character in four delightful light crime series. In “Leverage” and its successor, “Leverage: Redemption,” he was Elliot. In “The Librarians,” he was Jake. In this incarnation, “Almost Paradise: Season 2,” he’s Alex. All have some sort of military or intelligence background to prepare them for the current undertakings. Each time Kane’s character is smarter than he looks, does his thing with a grim sense of humor, and is tougher than all he must oppose. Underneath the surface of surly, he’s noble, loyal to his colleagues, and hell-bent on helping whoever needs it. He’s always reluctant to use violence but in just about every episode of each, he has to. And does it well. 180 times, collectively. Yet even after all those cloned outings,...

Ernesto thinks he’s found a way to infiltrate a secret club, but is he really being sly, or does his plan have flaws – especially when he and Alex are being billed as an “act.”
In an exclusive clip of an upcoming episode, Ernesto confidently says he, Alex, and Kai Mendoza (Samantha Richelle) were invited to the club. Presenting a special chip seems to soften the defensive club owner – but does it?

When the club owner asks for names, he stops and says, “Don’t answer that, it doesn’t matter! And I don’t wanna know.”

If you want to attract a younger audience, you have to watch what they watch. Not what you think they are watching, says producer Dean Devlin, best known for “Independence Day” and “Stargate.” But he never designs his shows for one market.
“It’s no longer all about gender or age demographic. If you go to a sci-fi convention, they are not just kids, they are not just older people. It’s everybody!”
At Berlinale Series Market Selects, which runs as part of the European Film Market in Berlin, with his latest show, sci-fi series “The Ark,” Devlin continues to pay homage to the kind of stories he loved as a child, from Douglas Trumbull’s “Silent Running” to “The Omega Man.”

Hitter. Hacker. Grifter. Thief. Brains. For five seasons on TNT, “Leverage” followed four lone wolf criminals — led by former insurance investigator, Nathan Ford (Timothy Hutton) — turned crew of Robin Hoods, fighting corporate and government injustices inflicted upon everyday people. Using their individual skills as a team to steal from the deceitful and remorseless rich and powerful, the Leverage crew’s motto was simple: “Sometimes bad guys make the best good guys.”
Nine years after its original run, “Leverage” is returning (on Amazon’s IMDb TV) with “Leverage: Redemption.” In this continuation series, the Leverage crew has to adjust to the new world order of the rich and powerful, who are even more ruthless — and getting away with even more heinous crimes — than before. Hitter Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane), hacker Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge), grifter and now also brains Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman), and thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf) have all returned for “Leverage: Redemption.

Hopefully, this season finale has left Alex in a better place.
After all, he dealt with a couple of his most prominent sources of anxiety, the partner that betrayed him and his estranged daughter, on Almost Paradise Season 1 Episode 10.
When the episode opened with Alex having a flashback about the events in Barcelona 17 months ago, obviously, he was still haunted by his betrayal by Carpenter.
Did Alex really see Carpenter in the lobby of his resort?
Maybe yes, maybe no. After all, the groggy Alex hadn't had his first cup of coffee of the day. So maybe it was a hallucination, or maybe he just saw an Aussie who looked like Carpenter.
That did set up that funny moment when the paranoid Alex almost whacked his estranged daughter Evelyn with an oar.
Maybe Alex should have been more afraid of Evelyn than Carpenter.
After all, she was the wronged party in that case,...

Kai finally got out of Ike's doghouse.
The chief sent her undercover again in quite dangerous conditions on Almost Paradise Season 1 Episode 9.
She proved she had great investigative instincts and even managed to manipulate veteran agent Alex into providing her additional backup amid a gathering of Asian triad bosses and foot soldiers.
Now, if only she and Alex could stop pushing each other's buttons.
Give Dean Devlin credit for keeping them essentially being a big brother and little sister, constantly ragging on each other, with stoic Ernesto stuck in the middle as the father figure.
There have been a few sparks between Alex and Kai, so their becoming a couple at this juncture of the season would ruin the chemistry among the three agents.
Remember the Moonlighting Curse. And that was hardly the last series ruined by a forced romance.
Besides, between his quick temper and his hypertension, Alex couldn't handle Kai.

It was bound to happen sometime.
Christian Kane as country singer was finally featured on Almost Paradise Season 1 Episode 8.
Not at all coincidentally, this episode was centered around a country singer who was at the center of a kidnapping plot.
So, yes, Kane's performance came up fairly organically, after a tease early in the episode.
This episode marked a pleasant change of pace as for once Alex wasn't the loudest personality present.
That honor went to August Crowe, the down-on-his-luck country singer attempting to mount a comeback concert on Cebu.
As August, Billy Ray Gallion (Lost) felt authentic, proudly soaking in his fans' appreciation at the airport as though country music hadn't passed him by a decade ago.
Accompanied by Shelton, his manager/enabler, it was simple to understand how August had taken such a long slide from stardom.
It was puzzling that Ike, Kai, and Ernesto viewed August as...
