Murder at the reunion
bkoganbing19 October 2020
This latest Aurora Teagarden mystery has our sleuthing librarian heading for her high school reunion and thinking of little more than the music she listened to back in the day. She's also sporting a new fiance in Niall Matter as she got engaged in the last film.

The last thing Roe and the others expect is murder, but one happens and it's one of her classmates who had a reputation for being a go getter and a promoter back in the day. Now he's gone gotten himself stabbed to death and the murder weapon is missing.

This one is painful for our librarian sleuth as she has trouble fathoming who among her friends could be a killer.

Marilu Henner is back as Aurora's mom and Dylan Sloane is back as cousin Phillip. For the first time since his introduction in the series Sloane is not in any trouble. So far he unwittingly aided in a heist, was a murder suspect when caught with weapon in hand, and has been kidnapped.

Fans of the series should enjoy this.

A decent mystery

Warning: Spoilers
I would not rate this among my very favorite episodes, but it was still good.

Like a lot of mysteries--not just Aurora Teagarden--the victim is often pretty easy to guess. It is the person who is the most annoying, despicable, or pompous--all three words describing our murder victim in this episode!

What I found a little more interesting, plot-wise, was that despite several red herrings, the actual murderer is zeroed in on for much of the show. It is only really Aurora who is having a hard time accepting this person might be a murderer.

So when the murderer is exposed--in another well done action scene where Nick and Aurora show their protective instincts--I was not especially surprised. I'm guessing that the writers were hoping that viewers would expect Aurora's instincts would prove true, and are therefore surprised when Aurora proves to be fallible!

There were also some nicely staged emotional moments, especially with Aida (Marilu Henner) this episode.

Some were raw, like Aida witnessing the victim's mother, Shirley Landon (Iris Quinn) shockingly cold rejection the victim's wife shortly after learning of the death.

And some were tender, like Nick (Niall Matter) asking Aida for her blessing to marry Aurora.

Love Aurora and her friends
ginasharp29 October 2020
Another great mystery with Aurora and her friends. I enjoyed this just as the others. Only slightly negative thing is that these are getting predictable knowing that the first person they arrest is never the true killer, they always find they wrongly accused.

A deadly Reunion
coltras3517 July 2023
Ro (Cameron Bure) and her best friend, Sally (Lexa Doig), are looking forward to a memorable night out at their high school reunion. They arrive to see that the campus big shots haven't shown much growth. Former lovers and homecoming king and queen Jack (Toby Levins) and Cassie (Kate Isaac) draw attention with an interaction that suggests they're not through as a couple. This puts Jack's wife, Amy (Tegan Moss), in a hot rage. Coach Caldwell (Jeffrey Joseph) from the football team also decides to light into his star player over a lawsuit regarding the latter's failed fitness company. When Jack turns up dead, stabbed and floating face-down in the swimming pool, everyone is shocked but not all that surprised.

Aurora Teagarden and her murder club investigate a school reunion murder in this snappy mystery. There isn't one dull moment as the plot snakes into plenty of avenues. The list of suspects are short, and expertly several red herrings leap out. The only thing I didn't like was Nick ( Niall matter )- I found him quite annoying with his smug look every time he confronts one of the suspects who once dated his now fiancée, Aurora. Aurora's previous beau played by Yannick was a much more likeable character.

I like them
Lollylovesmovies23 October 2020
I always like these movies but who do they think they are fooling? 20 year anniversary? Yeah if they didn't graduate high school until they were late 20's to early 30's! It's ridiculous to act as if these middle aged people are in their 30's. They aren't.

Engaged and it feels so good...
cgvsluis7 October 2021
Nick gets to meet Ro's high school classmates at her twenty year high school reunion and consults with Arthur and the police on a serial robbery case.

Parker Stevens...Ro's high school sweetheart comes to the reunion as well as Jack Landon the football quarterback, who is a little down on his luck and being sued by their former coach for money owed. The embittered high school cheerleader and prom Queen Cassie...takes all of thirty seconds to cause problems between her former love, Jack, and his wife.

It wouldn't be an Aurora Teagarden mystery if there wasn't a murder...and then Jack, the quarterback, ends up dead in the hotel pool. Sadly, the list of suspects is long and almost all classmates of Ro, Arthur and Sally.

This is another great who dunnit in the Aurora Teagarden Mystery series, one of my three favorite on Hallmark along with Hannah Swensen's Murder she Baked and Mystery 101. Aurora Teagarden is loosely based on the Charlaine Harris series.

Did Ro date a murderer?

Nick was his normal wonderful supportive self and assured Ro that it is ok for them to disagree. Our usual team gets right down to...as Aida calls it "the real murders game of find the suspect".

I have enjoyed every Aurora Teagarden entry and this one is no exception. If you are not watching this series...you are missing out!

Pick a suspect, any suspect, and when you find out who finally gets arrested your response may just be "who cares"
Ed-Shullivan11 November 2020
This is one of those cookie cutter murder mysteries that runs for the standard ninety (90) minutes and presents an endless stream of potential murder suspects to the point where I just didn't care anymore who they arrested. Mrs. Shullivan and I truly enjoy actress Candace Cameron Bure's innocence and perky personality in almost all of the earlier Aurora Teagarden mysteries, but when Aurora climbs out a second storey window, over a railing, and down a trellise to prove a point, now I have seen everything.

Just because this made for TV mystery had a dozen or so suspects, does not make it a mystery, nor does the hokey way that Aurora solve this murder, with the eventual murderer declaring their crime.

I write some of my IMDB reviews just to remind myself not to get fooled a second time and watch it again a few years later after time has passed and memories have waned. This is one of those forgettable made for TV mysteries that can be forgotten and "No, Aurora it does not feel so deadly"

I give it a mediocre rated 5 out of 10 IMDB review.

high school reunion
Kirpianuscus3 April 2022
The high school reunion frame for new murder case is the best good trait of this episode. In same measure, the work of Matthew MacCaull , giving to his Parker reasonable dose of ambiguity and the fair job of Dylane Sloane are nice virtues, to. An episode about youth, a dead body in pool, secrets and blackmail, conflicts , a knife and pure truth. And, sure, Candace Cameron Bure as fair balance for smart use of the ingredients of her role from Marilu Henner..
