Enjoyable and funny but not for everyone
missamatullah21 August 2020
I'm gonna start off with saying that no, this is not a show for everyone, so I completely understand if some people don't like it. But personally, I really enjoy it, it has a weird style of comedy, I like both Rachel and Sara(more so Rachel), and it has a crude yet somewhat appealing art style, what can I say? It's something different, it's absurd, but enjoyable. I'm glad that the show doesn't rely on a bunch of sex jokes or toilet humor, it's nice to see adult swim give other indie/small creators like this a shot. Give it a shot, if you don't like it then try some of adult swims other indie shows.

Better than King Star King
nasdagoodshepherd10 August 2020
I liked JJ Villard's Fairy Tales, Ballmasterz 9009, The Jellies!, and Tigtone. I love Rick and Morty, Primal, Lazor Wulf and Final Space. And I also enjoyed the return of the classic Adult Swim cartoon, 12 oz. Mouse. But now that Adult Swim is getting more and more better with their new show, YOLO: Crystal Fantasy and this show is one of those Adult Swim cartoons that I like and it was made by YouTuber, Michael Cussack. (who previously made Bushworld Adventures and also co-created the successful Adult Swim animated pilot, Smiling Friends) It features crazy weird adventures of Rachel and Sarah, doing some party, hanging out, getting drunk, taking selfies, encountering weird beings and whatnot. The animation is really great and rather fluid but looks kinda ugly to be honest but it's not as ugly as King Star King which a show that I did not care for. It has a lot of crazy epic, wacky, clever, out-of-control humor and some pretty funny writing. Adult Swim has been doing pretty well with the variety of oringal adult animation such as Rick and Morty, Final Space and Primal and YOLO: Crystal Fantasy is one of those shows that would fit in the Adult Swim box and it's also a great thing that Adult Swim revived Tuca & Bertie for a second season after Netflix canceled it. I give YOLO: Crystal Fantasy an 8.8/10

Spoilers: YOLO Crystal Fantasy is an Australian documentary series
radiohedge3 September 2020
Most people watch this animated series and think, did someone slip something in my drink, and for good reason. This series seems, for most viewers, to be over the top, but this is because most people have never been to the fabled land of Australia.

As any Aussie can attest, flying Ute parties, Double Terry Cups, and bush ragers are all quite real outback phenomena, and for years the real Australians have been clamoring for a piece of entertainment that properly and realistically portraits the every day lives of these industrious, stubby drinking legends.

Cheers to Michael Cussack for finally bringing the truth of Australia to the rest of the world. #SaveOurStralians

Exceeded Expectations

Warning: Spoilers
Glad I can rate this separately from Silver Destiny. It's honestly impressive how this show built up over subtly. It starts out episodic with the first 6 episodes but you get a sense of the character dynamic with Sarah and Rachel. You notice Rachel's toxicity and Sarah's more calm manner while still wanting to indulge what Rachel wants to do because they're best friends and they need each other right?

The final 2 episodes are beautiful. Like they did not need to make the last 2 episodes THAT good. Everything you've been watching previously pays off beautifully as now you're actually faced with what would happen if the characters split up. Sarah lives a normal life, has character growth, finds love, finds tragedy, and fulfillment, and it's honestly beautiful. Because despite the tone of the previous episodes, none of this was played for laughs. It's a genuine character study. Rachel however continues partying and then eventually realizes she's been wasting her life and eventually realizes how bad of a person she was and begs to change her ways and have a second chance, even though now the two are worlds (literally) apart. And even though some of that part was played for laughs, it's still mostly serious. The reasons why those 2 episodes work so well in this series is due to the previous 6 building up the chaotic dynamic between the two. If they didn't do the tonal shift towards the end, I probably would have given this season a 6 or 7, but due to Cusack and crew pulling off a beautiful last two episodes (and honestly an extremely fitting finale if this was a 1 season show), I'm gonna give this an 8/10.

Absurd,Weird Kangoors but I liked it.
postan-9070329 January 2022
Rachel,Sara Australian humour. Australian stereotype yolo Yolo First,if you like adult swim style Dark humour TV shows, this show fits your comedy taste. But I must to tell you humour way different than classics adult swim shows however cartoon style so terrible in a good sense.frame rate lower than 12 fps sometimes frame rates increase to 24 it makes unique type of aesthetic hence some part of scene so diverse for instance character anatomy look so bad but all of sudden perfect ratios' some scenes have Rotoscoping methods used which is added rare ingredient to show. Script also most crucial thing, how charters behave or what type attitude they have huge conundrum at least for me because of unpredictability every scene every text dialogue hard for guessing therefore I liked.

So you want to watch Australian dark humour go ahead mate.

Hilarious and underappreciated
I get this show isn't for everyone, but I think it's hilarious. Everyone ripping on it for being too obscene is missing the fact that it's sort of the point. I think the animation is hilarious and I love how unconventional it is.

This is entertainment?
danchapman-1586327 October 2021
I'd say work on your comedy skills but it is obviously a moot point. I don't know if it's 10 year olds writing this or just people on mushrooms but either way, there is no degree of skill in it's comedic value at all. It's not even witty. It's simply stupid. So if you find watching a cow take a dump in a field funny, then this show is for you, because that's about how intelligent it is.

callanlives7 March 2022
I have watched almost every show ever made on adult swim both when i used to smoke weed a lot and now that i havn't touched it in 6 years. There are few shows that will make me laugh out loud sober these days, but this is one of the acceptions. Every episode in this show had me laughing out loud at multiple points.

So I get Australia humor is similar to British humor, but this show is not funny at all. Its got a few moments here and there, but it's kinda boring and not entertaining at all.

The. Best.
PaRa5iteEv320 March 2023
I don't watch a ton of animated shows because I usually find them super lame but this show was AWESOME and so damn funny!! I laugh so much when I watch this and wish there were tons more episodes. I love the artwork, the humor, the ridiculousness of it all and the characters are so badass. The only other show I loved like this was Regular Show and it had similarities with the ridiculous things that would happen in the episodes. Sarah and Rachel are so awesome and I legit love Rachel's character so much. It's also badass to see a female character be so hardcore and ruthless, haha, I have hopes to be as awesome as she is someday. The cave queen hahaha. I wish I knew other people who also liked this show because they're probably pretty awesome too.

Seriously. Don't stop making this show.

I feel like I just got a crash course in Australian sub-culture
Amthermandes8 February 2023
This is such a weird, fast-paced animated trip, and you don't even need drugs to help. But as an American, I love and appreciate this change of pace. Side note: This is the beginning of something big...mark my words, Michael Cusack will be the next big voice in adult animation, will even replace Justin Roiland. I love weird, I love wacky, as long as the humor syncs with my own style. I'm also a sucker for Australian culture and entertainment, especially as of late with the new Hulu semi-hit "Koala Man," which I also recommend. This show has it all, it seems. It lacks direction, but that's what makes it fun.

As a side note, it feels like "Super Jail" had an Aussie baby with "Squidbillies." I swear, is Rachael even human? Or is she a demon from hell, hellbent on just trying her/its best to fit in with humanity?

This show feels like you need drugs of any and all sorts. You do, and you do not. It also makes you want to be Australian, for some weird reason. It's loaded with Australian culture, and you'd have to be a bloody wally (yes I looked that up) to turn away that charming Australian accent that ALL the characters have.

This show has the feeling of that obtuse, singled-out kiosk at a trendy art fair that pulls you in and makes you hate yourself for having the slightest interest in what it's selling. It feels like the avant-garde indie flick at Sundance that just "works." It's got so many issues and eyebrow-raising moments that you doubt it often, but then it pulls you in with it's quick wit and charm.

I dunno. I recognize it's stupid, and I'm sure it's more fun for someone who enjoys some of the more "recreational" substances, but I feel like it can be enjoyed by anyone who loves strange, random, Aussie humor.

This show is amazing!!!
wstzqk27 March 2022
I have watched the first season over and over and praying for a 2nd season 🙏🙏🙏 it's themes are so unusual and unexpected that its the perfect trippy cartoon to watch when you're tired of all the vanilla shows people are recommending. I also love smiling friends, and notice many similarities between these shows. YOLO is a must-watch adult swim show that should not be slept on.

Very dry humor, forced comedy, crude style drawing. Episode one was very hard to watch because it has you in a wtf moment for the entire show.

Extremely Underrated Adult Swim Show
shaverdrew3 February 2023
This show is such a joy to me. When the show was first released we were all waiting for Smiling Friends so some people just brushed it off. But Micheal Cusack is a genuinely funny voice actor, writer and animator who obviously has all types of hilarious ideas. The humor may not be for everyone. For me all the little songs, and quirky I guess "Australian" characters and bits just kill me every time. Just add so much character and feel to it, and when a show can make me laugh every episode a few times I consider it a success. Plus the surprise of season 2 even happening has been great. The first 3 episodes of season 2 have been fantastic with each being better than the last. And the idea of "serializing"(using that term somewhat lightly) could be a really great idea. Either way hopefully we get more of this show and more Micheal Cusack! Smiling Friend, this and Koala man show that this guy and also the talented crew of YouTube guys (mostly smiling friends) have better comedy and writing skills that what normal Hollywood gives us.

If you thought Bojack was dumb.
ThunderKing65 September 2020
Congratulations. We have another dumb show contender for the dumbing down throne.

Off the bat, Its garbage. Only people that are rating this show so high are probably druggies. Who else would watch such a show?

Just the other day I was thinking about how there are no female lead adult shows. Then this show appeared and I understood why. It's not even because it's a female lead show. Its just disgustingly bad. Then again It's even worse because its a female led. This show should be under the definition of junk.

The Animation is garbage. Looks like a preschool drew it and was paid crayons.

The premise is like all the other shows. It has depression, drunk lead characters who is friends with more drunk characters, They go through BS of drinking, sex, partying, being stupid and being stupid.

The one intelligent guy of the show is demonized because they don't partake in degrading of themselves.

Verdict: Bojack and Rick and Morty you have a challenger for your dumbing down throne.

Nope, this is not for me
KimarieSings2 October 2020
Forget for a minute that I am still unable to make it through the worst prank ever played on Rick & Morty fans, the disturbing "Bushworld Adventure" episode. I find it EXTREMELY off putting to the point it gives me severe anxiety, so it should be no surprise that I do not enjoy this series. The animation of the characters switches from normal to terrifying when they get angry, and that is all one of the main characters ever seems to do. Rachel is a decent character, but i certainly hope most young women in Australia are better than Sara. She is a foul, selfish, obscene human and I don't find it funny or amusing. The only thing I like is the secondary characters when they are (for some unknown reason) cute looking shapes or some other unexpected form. I am hoping the series ended at the end of Season 1, as it was a decent and just ending for the 2 women. Just too rude and intentionally off putting for my taste.

Poorly Written Writers
charlestraphagan23 February 2023
Whenever you see an Episode of Rick & Morty and then you see an advertisement for Royal Crackers which happens to appear on the day we were born, April 2nd, you are appalled at this YOLO Caliber poor writing spree you see on I Can Not Write Swim.

Rick & Morty are clearly cut from a separate fabric than these other two bit blue collar pieces of non-sensical garbage.

When a human being does something productive such as obtaining a non-linear education perhaps then they'll be able to write something with more of a punch such as R&M VS all of the other non-sense you've been playing on your station always and forever.
