(We’ve got all the biggest spoilers ahead for the April 26 episode of “Westworld” on HBO)
There’s only one more episode remaining in “Westworld” season 3, and this past week we got a deluge of revelations. But all of it was delivered in typically cryptic “Westworld” fashion, and so it’s easy to miss the details. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered if you’re confused, as we’re gonna break down all that madness so you can be ready for Sunday night’s finale.
We’re gonna take it all piecemeal instead of just directly recapping everything in chronological order, just for the sake of everyone’s sanity. We’ll start with Caleb (Aaron Paul), just because he gets the biggest revelations and kinda binds all the other stuff together.
So perhaps the largest twist this week was the news that Dolores’s plan for global revolution does not,...

(This article contains major spoilers for the April 26 episode of HBO’s “Westworld”)
It has finally begun. “Westworld” season 3 has been so full of mysteries that it would have been totally ridiculous to try to answer all our questions in the finale next week. So “Westworld” creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy got a jump start on the wrap-up this week, with an episode that just had so much stuff in it that it’s really tough to take it all in.
It was information overload, honestly. It took me a couple viewings to really get what happened here. And because it’s so overwhelming, you may have missed the line of dialogue early on in the episode that explained something the main Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) did at the end of the episode.
Aside from all the talking and big revelations, we also got a big fight scene between...

Dwayne Johnson and Issa Rae are teaming up for a half-hour series about backyard wrestling at HBO, the network announced Monday.
Titled “Tre Cnt” (a.k.a. “Tre Count”), the project is described as a series about “working-class family, neighbors, and friends in Houston’s Third Ward (The Tre) who come together — pooling their talents, resources, savvy, and dreams — to build a unique hip-hop centric backyard-wrestling empire from nothing.”
The show centers on 20-something Cassius Jones, a dock worker and struggling pro-wrestler, who uses inherited life insurance money for start-up cash and the deed to a shotgun house from his grandfather to build his American dream.

This week’s episode of “Westworld” on HBO was quite a doozie. So much so, in fact, that it can be easy to miss a potentially huge detail about what Charlotte-Dolores (Tessa Thompson) is going to try to do next. And it involves William (Ed Harris).
As we know, William ended up being shipped off to some super posh psychiatric facility by Charlotte, but judging by a couple easily missable details in this week’s episode that power move wasn’t just to get him out of the way while Charlotte tried to take Delos private. They still have plans for William.

The Coen brothers’ 2007 film No Country For Old Men is unlike the traditional westerns it pays homage to. The good guy gets shot, the bad guy gets away, and the audience is left feeling uneasy about the whole experience. Perhaps the most non-traditional moment of the entire film is its seemingly unrelated closing monologue, delivered by Tommy Lee Jones’ character Sheriff Bell to his wife just before the film abruptly cuts to black. But a new video essay from ScreenPrism suggests that Sheriff Bell’s calmly delivered speech actually encapsulates the film’s themes and gives deeper insight into its title.
Throughout the film, Sheriff Bell has been following the trail of Llewelyn Moss and hitman Anton Chigurh, played by Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem, respectively, and bears witness to the meaningless violence and destruction left in their wake. The dream Bell recounts at the film’s close suggest ...

Last month, I read a book called Hawkeye, Vol. 1 . This month, I hit one called Vol. 3. In the annoyingly typical way of Big Two comics, the latter follows directly from the former. (One is a hardcover, which in comics-reprinting circles comes typically a year or two after the paperback and combines two paperbacks together. Yes, that’s the opposite of how we old-time book-industry hands are used to seeing things happen, but it seems to work for the Wednesday Crowd.)
Anyway, at the end of Vol. 1, the two Hawkeyes split up, because comics are all about break-ups and changes and new things that can last for six issues or so. (Spider-Man No More! once again.) L.A. Woman follows the younger female Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, who drives a cool car cross country to the city of the title, where she immediately gets caught up in nefarious doings and skulduggery of her own.

Chris Brown is an artist whose public persona is nearly impossible to separate from his art. He's an obviously gifted singer, and frequently an even better dancer. His pout and his swagger, when he's performing, is all part of the act. And the act can often be the art. He's also been repeatedly arrested, charged and sentenced for assault; he publicly brawls with other artists; he's proven a hostile and defensive in television appearances and on social media. That recent Billboard interview was insufferable. He can be vile about women, boastful about commercial success and his own materialism. His success is dependent on inspired live performances, a hit single and the support of his label and guest artists on his records. This need has worked its way into his art, onto his new album "X," though not always in the most explicit, lyrical terms. "X" was an album that took a year-and-a-half to make,...

Hollywood knows a good thing when it sees it. Taking the most well-known comic book characters from history and bringing them to life on the big screen has generated billions of dollars in revenue, created a new genre of film and delivered pure cinematic joy to millions of cinema-goers. There are however, a number of alternative graphic novels and comics that don’t feature well known characters and crucially that can offer an audience something they’ve never seen before onscreen.
Alternative comics have a freedom that the more mainstream comics don’t. The good guy doesn’t always win, or even behave honourably. Characters are multifaceted individuals, the themes and stories are complex, the imagery occasionally perverse and the language blue enough to make a sailor blush. In alternative comics Batman would use a certain character’s Bowel Disruptor to make enemies poop themselves to death.

Vin Diesel/Facebook
We get it Internet. You love Beyonce. She’s majestic, spectacular, heavenly, and many, many more hyperbolic, over-sugared words that don’t really mean anything at the end of the day, despite how many exclamation marks you add.
But she’s also got a competitor to be the new Queen B (and that is in no way an endorsement of the erroneous claims of young pretender Lorde) and it comes in the least likely form. Rather than a copycat with a fabulous wardrobe and astonishing hair, the new hottest thing in town comes in the hard and lumpy shape of an action movie star, clad in a white vest.
Perhaps Vin Diesel was making an unlikely play to be cast as the lead in the next (and inevitable) Step Up movie, or perhaps he was just really excited by the news that Universal had just told him...

Tired, cranky, and on-deadline with an empty thought balloon hovering over my head. But I have these questions that are keeping me up nights, questions that must be answered. For example:
1) Who’s got Who?
Idw’s Doctor Who ends at the Christmas special. They bid on renewal of the license, unsuccessfully. Others bid as well. Somebody got it, and, as of this writing, nobody knows who. Or Who. Whom? Anyway, conventional wisdom says it’s Titan Comics out in the U of K. Some think it might be the BBC itself. I think Panini might have taken a shot at it – they’ve been publishing Doctor Who Magazine for quite some time.
But for some amusing reason, the BBC is keeping quiet about it. And while they’re not known for being the most enthusiastic business people in the neighborhood, on the occasion of the Doctor’s 50th anniversary...

Deadbeat - Makes You Stronger (review here) proves that sometimes death is only the start of our problems. We recently chatted with author Guy Adams about his new novel, what inspired its dark moments and what lies ahead for the Deadbeat series.
Amanda Dyar: Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with us. To start off, can you tell us a little about yourself and your recent work as a writer?
Guy Adams: No problem at all, thanks for asking me!
I'm an English writer currently living in Spain because if you're going to lock yourself in your office all day, it may as well be a nice outside world you're not seeing.
I've done a real mixture of stuff over the years. I wrote a novel called The World House for Angry Robot books followed by a sequel Restoration. I've written three novels...

When looking over the cast for a little low budget horror flick, you don't usually see the names of Academy Award nominees. That rarely happens. Usually you get cats like Dustin Diamond, etc. Well, the upcoming flick Scavenger Killers inexplicably has them both and then some!
Dylan Bank directs from a screenplay by Kenneth Del Vecchio and Rachael Robbins. Now here's the neat thing... the cast! Eric Roberts, Robert Loggia, and Charles Durning all star along with Robert Bogue (The Good Guy, "Guiding Light"), Rachael Robbins (An Affirmative Act, Screaming Dead), Dustin Diamond ("Saved by the Bell"), Kim Allen ("Army Wives"), Angela Little (American Pie Bandcamp, The Life Zone), and Suzi Lorraine (Solid State, The Haunting of Pearson Place).
Take a look at the first trailer and artwork!
Synopsis
"Bonnie and Clyde" are reinvented in Scavenger Killers, where a charming judge and a hot criminal defense attorney go on a maniacal killing rampage.

So this was WWE’s final PPV before the build to Wrestlemania begins for real was it? I wonder how many people were put off parting with their hard earned Dollars and Pounds after another lacklustre offering from the première wrestling company in the world?
The show opened with Team Rhode’s Scholars against Brodus “I should have had a King Kong Bundy gimmick” Clay and Tensai. As ridiculous as it is to see Clay and the former Prince Albert dancing in the ring they were actually pretty good as a big man team. We’re not sure why WWE decided to split up Rhode’s Scholars only to reunite them a week or so later because they’ve no singles programmes for either man heading into ‘Mania. Surely leave it until after Wrestlemania 29 to give Damien Sandow his big singles push. The only saving grace for Rhode’s Scholars...

White Collar holds a very dear place in my heart. It’s the show about which I first wrote for AfterEllen. So I love it in a perfect, first love, kind of way. That will probably never change but it doesn’t mean I don’t think they should use Agent Diana Berrigan a whole lot more. Because she hasn’t been featured heavily in the three episodes so far, I’m lumping them together to get you caught up on the show.

One can argue that the late ‘80s is the heyday for evil doll movies and Don Mancini and Tom Holland’s Child’s Play is the ultimate in over-the-top killer toy fun. Five installments later the franchise is still enduring and the original is considered a “classic” among many fans.
Film: Child’s Play
Director: Tom Holland
Year: 1988
Lies They Tell: The Good Guy doll. There’s a misnomer. No normal doll kills with such ferocity, moves with such agility while wearing overalls, or has such an amazing gift for delivering one-liners.
Devilish Dolly Moment: Oh man, there are so many devil doll moments, it’s tough to choose. Child’s Play is lighter on the kills compared to the next two installments, but the murder of Doctor Ardmore by electroshock therapy gives fans a taste of Chucky’s creativity and love for a punchline. I'm a big fan of...

Walt Disney Pictures have released some colorful new images along with a character guide for their new film, Wreck-it Ralph. Check it out below.
Wreck-it Ralph is about a video game character who gets tired of being the “bad guy” and embarks on a game-hopping journey through every generation of video games to make a new meaning for his life. How does Disney come up with these awesome ideas?!
Level 1: Game Central Station
Wreck-It Ralph: Bad Guys Finish Last
Ralph is a heavy-handed wrecking’ riot with a heart. For 30 years—day in, day out—he’s been doing his job as “The Bad Guy” in the arcade game Fix-it Felix Jr. But it’s getting harder and harder to love his job when no one seems to like him for doing it. Suffering from a classic case of Bad-Guy fatigue and hungry for a little wreck-ognition, Ralph embarks...

For A Good Time, Call …
Directed by: Jamie Travis
Cast: Ari Graynor, Lauren Miller, Justin Long, Mark Webber, Nia Vardalos
Running Time: 1 hr 26 mins
Rating: R
Release Date: August 31, 2012 (Chicago)
Plot: Katie (Graynor) and Lauren (Miller) are two “frenemies” economically forced to live together in a New York apartment. When push comes to shove, they decide to work together to start a phone sex hot line.
Who’S It For? The less raunchy comedies you have seen, the better. If you feel pretty comfortable with perverted humor, this phone sex comedy isn’t going to entertain you all that much.
Overall
Girls just wanna start a phone sex business in the not-so alluring For A Good Time, Call …, a comedy that focuses on female friendships (great, more of this please!) but also reminds us that boring raunchiness certainly isn’t exclusive to boy’s club movies either. The film’s...

In case you've been wondering what Chloe Moretz looks like as an awkward teen that unleashes telekinetic doom at her high school prom, Dread Central has an image of the actress as Carrie. The remake of the classic 1970's horror adaptation (based on Stephen King's novel) started filming, and Moretz was spotted wearing a dowdy dress and sweater combo buttoned up to her chin with a big silver cross. DC shares that, " …although she's definitely in costume, it's not yet known what [Moretz's] physical look (hair, etc.) will be." "Boys Don't Cry" director Kimberly Peirce is helming the remake, set to hit theaters next March. Unleash the pig's blood!

There are some episodes that split the action and the exposition, like the last couple we've seen this season. Then there are the episodes that deliver an emotional one-two wallop that leaves us reeling. It's safe to say that Jeffery DeMunn (Dale) Owned this episode, from start to spectacularly shocking finish, and he actually brought me to tears with the strength of his convictions and words. He forces us to ask, "what would you do in this situation" and I'm sure some of us came up with not-so-appealing answers. This show has always fought to show the balance between humanity and survival's necessity, but I think this episode really drove the nail home that for this group, there is no clear line. At least, not for everyone. And as Dale struggles to keep the moral compass of the group pointed right, Daryl steps up and into the limelight again, taking...

A prison break. In space. How bad can that be? Your mileage may vary, but it's hard not to at least appreciate the premise of "Lockout," the EuropaCorp action flick entering theaters this weekend.
Guy Pearce stars in the film as Snow, a former special forces operative now working on his own. When he's set up for a crime he didn't commit and subsequently left facing a drastically long prison sentence as a result, Snow's presented with a mission as his one last chance to free his future: go into outer space, infiltrate the sacked maximum security prison Ms One, and save the president's daughter from the inmates now running the asylum. Needless to say, that order is easier said than done, but it's enough to fill out a 95-minute movie.

Since taking a leading role in David Fincher’s The Social Network last year as the Winklevoss twins, Armie Hammer has seen his stock rising in Hollywood and then some. He’ll next be seen starring in the Oscar-buzzed J. Edgar for Clint Eastwood, followed up by the first of next year’s Snow White films, Mirror Mirror. The Big Bang Theory Experiences “The Good Guy Fluctuation”
At the comic book store, Leonard meets Alice (Courtney Ford), an attractive artist who tests his commitment to Priya. Meanwhile, Sheldon tries–and mostly fails–to scare the guys for Halloween.
Leonard is The Big Bang Theory‘s straight man and the most well-adjusted of the guys. The group probably wouldn’t have become friends without him, but as the supporting characters have been fleshed out and the scope of the series has expanded, Leonard is seldom the one with the dilemma on which an episode turns. “The Good Guy Fluctuation” not only gave him a dilemma, but also went to the core of his character exploring it.
With Priya working in India, it was only a matter of time before she and Leonard grew apart. This episode’s main question was, “At what point would Leonard cross the line from flirting to cheating?...

The Big Bang Theory did Halloween this week in "The Good Guy Fluctuation," and instead of getting bogged down in traditional holiday events, it was all about scaring the crap outta each other. And, well, Leonard's girl troubles.
Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate cheating. Ever. Okay, I do. Leonard what were you thinking? Break up with Priya! She is across the world and, more importantly, not right for you! Alice was perfect. She was cute, funny, had common interests and lives in California. What more could you want? The writers messed this one up big time. Any chance he can repair the damage and get Alice back? For the first time, I didn't want Leonard and Penny to be together. That's huge.
Sheldon oh Sheldon ... so smart, yet, so clueless. How can you not just adore this guy? Jim Parsons should submit this episode for his Emmy consideration because he rocked it tonight.

Yes, it actually begins with a "Confucious Say."
ABC was once famous for bringing great guilty pleasure soap operas to primetime TV. Back in the 80's, Dynasty reigned supreme with its wonderfully wretched excess. More recently, Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters carried the torch on Sunday nights.
But the soap bubble burst. Brothers & Sisters was canceled, and Desperate Housewives is now a dessicated corpse, reanimated briefly once a week with injections from the urine of an Argentinian hairy-legged vampire bat.
So the question is ... can Revenge bring back the heyday of the primetime soap?
It's too early to say ... but as Brent Hartinger pointed out in his review, "Revenge is definitely not 'smart.' But at least in the pilot, it's not quite campy or over-the-top enough to make it much of a guilty pleasure either." In other words, it needs to lather up or get out of the tub.

They shall beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks;
One nation shall not raise the sword against another,
neither shall they learn war any more.
Isaiah 2:4
War is a nation’s ultimate commitment of blood and treasure. As such, the stories a people tells about its wars – and don’t tell – and the ways it remembers its wars – or chooses to forget them – tells us much about the kind of people they consider themselves to be at different times in their history, as well as the kind of people they really were…and are.
For most of the 20th century, the war film was a Hollywood staple. From one era to the next, war movies documented the nation’s conflicts, reflected the national consciousness on particular combats as well as on thinking going far beyond any one, particular war. They’ve been propagandistic and revisionist,...

Salman Khan with Aamir Khan
Actor Salman Khan gets back at Aamir Khan for making a dig at him regarding his marriage
Bollywood?s perfectionist Aamir Khan made a comment on Salman Khan earlier saying that ‘the best gift he could ever give Salman was getting him married’. Salman Khan, who maintained that he was not upset about the comment, gave it back to Aamir in a sophisticated manner.
Salman supposedly joked off Aamir?s comment by saying ?Aamir has said that he’ll tie my leg to the mandap, and get me married. I said, I’ll tie his legs back home and not let him get to the mandap for a third marriage!”
Contrary to Aamir, Salman has been in many of Bollywood?s masala blockbusters. When asked to comment on that, he said ?I like it this way. I like entertaining people. I love the concept of good versus bad.

Chicago – Colin Egglesfield is in an enviable position. In his major film debut, “Something Borrowed,” he is engaged to Kate Hudson, and also shows his affection for Ginnifer Goodwin. He is torn between two lovers, but handles both with natural charm.
Egglesfield has carved out a career through hard work and perseverance. After going through the pre-med program at the University of Iowa, he turned to modeling to earn money for medical school, and ended up doing it full time. He morphed from that career to acting, where he built a resume of TV and movie roles until landing on “All My Children” in 2005, playing the son of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), Dr. Josh Madden.

Updated again: Empire have now gone live with their own reveal of the images, which are almost the same as the ones inside the magazine just with different poses.
The good guy cover is in blue (featuring Mystique, Xavier, Beast) and then bad guy cover in red (Emma Frost, Magneto, Azrael) and then a subscribe cover in grey…
Updated: Empire have asked us to take the images down, presumably a high-res follow-up on their site will be forthcoming soon.
The new issue of Empire Magazine has just come through my door with several large and revealing images of the mutant characters from this June’s X-Men: First Class.
I’m uploading as we go, so take a gander at these…...

Anyone remember when Kate Hudson stole scenes in Almost Famous, was irresistible in About Adam and kind of funny in 200 Cigarettes? Nope, me neither. Nevertheless, here’s the second trailer for her upcoming rom-com Something Borrowed, also starring cinematic romance vets Ginnifer “He’s Just Not That Into You“ Goodwin, John “It’s Complicated” Krasinki and Colin Egglesfield, who actually played a convincing charmer-cum-deutsche bag in last year’s underseen The Good Guy and had a bit part in Must Love Dogs. Must you, really? Must you?
These are clearly all talented young performers acting in a film that appears to play out not unlike My Best Friend’s Wedding, which is not meant to be a backhanded comparison.
All of that said, it’s hard not to watch a trailer like this and wonder if maybe there might be something else these four players might be better suited getting...

Looking back, 2010 is not going to be remembered as a particularly good year for movies. In my mind, most of the 150 or so new films I saw from January to December are all muddled together in a big pile of mediocrity. When that happens though, it's so much easier to pick out the truly great ones. To that end, picking my favorite movies of 2010 was easier than previous years. What was harder, though, was weeding through an insane amount of movies that didn't end up getting released during 2010. Why recommend them if you can't see them? So, after the jump, you’ll find more than just a top ten of 2010. You’ll also find a five worst of 2010 and my top five of 2011 so far. Yes, that's right. When everyone is strictly doing top tens for last year, we've got one for 2011 as well. My Top Ten Films of 2010 In...

So far I've collected six separate 2010 compilation videos looking back at the this year's collection of films. To the best of my knowledge, these six videos include clips from 303 films and together they total 34:34. I have included the complete list of films on the second page if you are interested. Let me know if I'm missing any, but I think it's pretty safe to say if you liked a film in 2010 one of these following videos will feature it.
So, have a watch and leave your thoughts on which one is your favorite in the comments below and if you find another one online that I should add to the collection shoot me an email.

If you were trapped under a rock this year (it happens) take six minutes to watch this YouTube short. Half music video, half trailer remix, “Filmography 2010″ cuts together the year’s hits, flops and everything in between to catchy music.
Even if you’re a jaded movie buff who hates year end schmaltz, the recap should pluck your heartstrings. So many great and touching moments this year, it’s enough to make you wonder how the Golden Globes managed to totally blow their nominations.
But we digress. Check out the video after the jump.
How many films do you recognize? Below is full list of the films in the order that they appear. Enjoy!

Every December these ‘best of the year’ video montages make the last 12 months of cinema seem infinitely more pleasant to sit through than they actually were. Here’s the first of many that are sure to be made before the sand in the hourglass runs out on 2010, this one from a gal going by the name of Gen I, who sent in this effort to /film.
There’s 270 movies in this montage below ranging from all the well known blockbusters, to smaller docs, foreign fare and even some Japanese anime! I can’t begin to imagine how long or how much skill it takes to put something as high-quality as this together…
Full list of the tracks and films shown are below;

Now that we're about two weeks till the end of 2010, the film industry will be looking back to figure out the best movies of the year and will pick winners during the many awards shows. Today, we have a video that captures 2010 pretty well by showing scenes from the year's 270 films, including some that have yet to hit theaters. There will likely be plenty more of these montages in the next few weeks, but the video is definitely one of the better ones that I have seen. Check out the six-minute video below, in addition to a full list of all the films that were used. Questions: How many of the films listed did you actually see in full? Video: Films in Order of Appearance: 1. Iron Man 2 2. The Social Network 3. Saw 3D 4. Tron: Legacy 5. Never Let Me Go 6. Legion 7. The Book of Eli 8. Easy A 9. The Runaways 10. Farewell 11.
