Ask Them, The Rippers

One incident . A billion darkholes creep out of nowhere .

I bet the director , Prithvi Konanur wanted to perfect a thriller that felt too real to be true . One thing leads to the other , and everyone starts showing their darker shade.

One point to highlight is that every question was acknowledged with proper fact and deliverance. Layered meticulously to form a solution that might have its own games to end with .

Unmissable.

Fantastic.

Warning: Spoilers
The smallest of mistakes might turn our lives upside down. The disappearance of an infant in 'Pink Elli' shatters the life's of the characters in a Fahradi-esque thriller.

The so called 'mumblecore' genre is new to Kannada cinema, which is why films like 'Pinki Elli' are very refreshing. The films chugs along at a reasonable pace and manages to grab your attention throughout.

The mix of professional and non-professional actors gives a very nice texture to the plot. Important societal topics such as treatment of trans-people and live-in relationships are examined. Pinki disappearance culminates in a very suspenseful third act where it feels like the plot could go anywhere.

You also get a look at the Bangalore that isn't present in other films. No exotic locations or film set dance numbers here. Powerful Cinema.

A farhadisque crime drama
suprabhattacharya13 February 2022
A farhadisque Indian film,Pinki Elli(2020) is a riveting crime drama in Kannada. The story follows a woman in search of her missing baby and her nanny after she found them missing after returning early from her work.

Despite starting of as a straight forward investigation drama ,the film delves into various societal, cultural blemishes of our society. The film has tried to touch on several aspects of urban lives within a short period of time which feels overstuffed sometimes. The storytelling approach is what keeps you hooked all the time. The minimalist approach in the film is praiseworthy, the choice of non professional actors adds much to the believablity to the premise.

At the last 20 minutes of the film,it brings quite a surprising genre shift which works very well. There were also frequent oscillations in the film between genres throughout the runtime.

The acting has been quite convincing from the non actors also.

The film excels in delivering almost everything one expects from films belonging to this genre, yet it doesn't seen impactful enough and the editing could have been tighter too.

Best Kannada film in decades

Warning: Spoilers
I watched the film at BIFFES. I was awestruck by the entire team of the film. The screenplay is just out of this world. Direction is awesome. Acting by Sammanna is absolutely stunning. Even Akshata is okay. Not bad. However the best part for me was the editing. Not one moment felt unnecessary or not one moment should have been held longer. Just beautiful.

Most importantly, I literally learned a ton of things. Slums with god making. Child Wellbeing Committee. Police actions. So much!

Since she works, a mother leaves behind her eight month old baby to be cared for by a maid. Little does she know that the maid had been giving away the baby for a fee to someone who uses the baby to beg on the streets.

Subsequently with the baby missing, a search and investigation scoops up details on each of the characters involved, giving this story its thriller element.

It is worth to watch.

I love this movie. It shows many aspects of the social problems in India but the same things happen in Korea too so it gives me a chance to think about the women who are struggling with living and supporting their family. I like the ending the most.

A well made social drama which turns into a thriller in the midst of chaos

A social drama

The movie revolves around Bindu, a working mother, who leaves her eight month old children to be taken care by a maid. The maid lends her daughter to a relative of her, to use the infant to beg at traffic signals. The infant goes missing, what's gonna happen next?

Parenting is an important role in all our lives. This movie is all about Parenting. Be wise with your words & character when child's are nearby.

"Good parenting gives headache, but bad parenting gives heartaches" This story was inspired from a newspaper article which is about real incidents happened in Bengaluru where infant's were rented out .
