I can see this becoming a cult film. Disgusting movie.
brettwarren-571367 August 2022
This movie is like a mix between a found footage movie and a "mixtape" style movie. It has some truly shocking scenes in it. I would not recommend it for someone who doesn't know what they're getting into. If you know what you might be seeing and are ok with it I would recommend this, especially if your a fan of "disturbing films". The conversations (acting) are quite believable, and the situation they get into is a pretty neat idea. The content in this movie (to me) puts this above your average disturbing film in terms of what your visually seeing. I had to look away a few times myself. I would say it's a solid movie for what it is. I definitely have not forgotten it since my being and tbh I probably am gonna remember this movie for the rest of my life. I think it's well put together, worth a watch forsure. It's sick, and twisted, but that's what makes it so interesting.

Mondo / Shockumentary / Found Footage

Pretty scary. I first heard about this on the Overlook Hour Podcast and watched a private screener. It's uncomfortable to watch, so only approach if you want to go deep into the dark.

Just when you thought the internet was safe.
GFlipFlops14 June 2021
Charlottes net follows the story of two friends who stumble onto the dark web. The movie makes you feel like it can't get any more intense and then shatters those expectations. I found myself watching parts through my fingers trying to process the raw emotion, violence, and terror.

This movie is not for the faint of heart to say the least, but definitely something to throw on the bucket list for must see snuff films if that's your thing.

Uncomfortable and disturbing but also highly flawed
kannibalcorpsegrinder10 June 2021
After looking into how to go online, a kid and his friend find a series of dark and disturbing visuals about human nature.

This was a rather tough and disturbing genre effort. The very nature of the lips being show, ranging from gang beatdowns, live mutilations and dismemberments, executions, and accidents that reveal brutal and obscene acts from various sources reveal a highly uncomfortable experience. The fact that it's taken from documentary footage leads a realism to the material that goes beyond most genre fare as the detachment that comes about from this approach, especially when it goes beyond the human deaths into highly uncomfortable bodily functions or other antics that include animals at certain points. This creates a generally bleak and disruptive atmosphere that is quite difficult to get through. There are some problems to be had here. The main issue is the whole random nature of what constitutes a storyline here, which doesn't actually have it. There's never a sense of this one grouping the footage together to prove something or generate a plotline, as instead this just goes from a random scene of human brutality to the next one, with the only interruption coming from the extended scenes of the kids going through several conversations about the context of their lives which drains the life from the film completely. This goes on so long that it feels completely pointless to include it with how little it connects to the rest of the film with the context of the clips shown or how enjoyable it comes off. As well, there's also the whole nature of the material here being troubling or unsettling to sit through. Granted, most won't want to undertake this due to the subject matter, but most of those who are willing to do so won't have a lot of time to differentiate what's going on from most of the other clips shown here. The fact that it's mostly the same type of scenes being featured here in terms of the vicious and uncomfortable content eventually becomes monotonous and dull after a while which is due to the highly repetitive style of these scenes regardless of how disturbing and confrontational they are. Combined with the other factors present, these really lower this one significantly.

Rated Unrated/NC-17: Extreme Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, Nudity, violence-against-animals, and graphic bodily functions.

Cult Classic !!!
Malbro243 July 2021
So I was lucky enough to see this gem at a festival and I've been into found footage films but there's only been a few that have taken my liking. Oh boy this was something different, usually deaths in these types of films are pretty tame but this movie has some real and I mean real savage kills in it!!!

Charlotte's Net reminded me of rockstar games ps2 classic manhunt with its similar uncomfortable atmosphere, brutality and music. The 90's vhs feel helped with that specific overall setting especially.

The story itself was nothing special and that's what I usually expect with these kind of films but the characters where entertaining, I enjoyed the childishness between the two. Reminded myself of me and my friends back in the day.

Overall if you liked cannibal Holocaust, manhunt or faces of death this film will be right up your ally!

The reason I'm giving this a 10/10 is because this movie is definitely going to become a cult classic in the years to come, it's one of a kind!!!

Legitimately the worst movie I have ever seen
davidgreen981724 March 2022
The positive reviews on here have to be either from the creators of the film or their friends, because this is truthfully the worst film I've ever seen. The acting is abysmal, the characters are unlikeable to the point that the film is unwatchable, and there is fake film grain and effects added to make it look like a found footage film when it is clearly added post production and is filmed on a modern camera. The film contains real gore and shock footage from various shock websites, which I suppose is the selling point here. Even in that regard, the film fails. It's a cheap way to shock the viewer, and the people that are going to watch this movie to see the footage have probably already seen everything in it or similar so I truly don't know who the audience for this is. Truthfully a waste of time, and begs the question if video cameras should be as widely available as they are. Yes, this film is this bad. This film doesn't deserve the amount of time I've spent on this review, and it doesn't deserve your time or money. Truthfully, the filmmakers should be ashamed for making something that is this bad. Boring, annoying, poorly produced, poorly lit, poor sound editing, poor acting, poor me. I would rather get repeatedly kicked in the genitals than watch this again.

Found footage done great
andrewtims3 April 2022
Someone who follows me on social media messaged me about this film and I was immediately intrigued, so I bought a copy and sat down and watched it.

Not only did the director have a good story to go along with it, but the shocking reality of the real gore and acting made it perfect. He uses reality to scare you and I applaud him for that. If you feel like you can stomach it do it!

Good idea, bad implementation
Smokidoki19 September 2022
This film is a mix of found footage and real gore clips. I like the idea and I can't think of any film that has shown this before.

Even if this idea offers something new in the extreme horror genre, the implementation is unfortunately just boring. The self-made found footage scenes offer no suspense and apart from a few funny allusions in the dialogues, these scenes have no relevance. The real gore clips, which are played between the found footage sequences, are more or less the "classics" that everyone who is interested in the topic has already seen and will certainly not be shocked by it anymore. I think it would have helped the film a lot if the director James Dobbins Jones had used lesser known clips.

Ultimately, this film will disappoint anyone who has been into underground/extreme horror for a while and someone who only watches mainstream horror won't stumble across Charlotte's Net. Maybe some teens who are fans of the absolutely ridiculous "Disturbing Movie Iceberg" or "Plagued Moth" will find this absurdly boring movie enjoyable.

Because I liked the idea, still 3/10.

Absolute Shocking Gorefest.
ah-3949922 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Definitely not for the faint of heart. I will say however I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The actual gore included was also a really nice touch and made the film itself seem so much more real. The whole found footage/ SOV feel of the entire movie just made it all the more enjoyable for me. All in all a solid watch but something I would recommend only to the most serious of gorehounds.

Perfect Found Footage!
descendents-036215 May 2022
Literally perfectly crafted. We'll acted and we'll done for a first time director. Added so much horror elements as well as internet culture.

One of the most shocking films I have seen since A Serbian Film.

Bloody and gorey but just so perfectly edited.

A must watch for ANY extreme horror movie fan!
