Somewhere, at this very moment, someone's dad is probably watching one of the Jesse Stone movies on DVD, and that man is having a great afternoon. After this, he might pop in "Ford v. Ferrari" for the seventh time.
The character of Jesse Stone began his life in a series of airport novels written by the late Robert B. Parker. The first Jesse Stone novel, "Night Passage," was published in 1997 and it followed the titular former LAPD detective (and divorced recovering alcoholic) as he investigated money laundering and murder in Paradise, Massachusetts. Parker had a hit on his hands with "Night Passage," and proceeded to writer eight additional Jesse Stone novels from 1998 up until his death in 2010. Jesse Stone had become an institution at that point, and other authors began writing Stone novels in Parker's style. There have been 11 additional Jesse Stone novels written after Parker's death.

Zorro and Expats are the big shows coming to Prime Video in January. The former is what Amazon are calling a “bold reinterpretation” of the classic hero El Zorro for 2024. Starring Miguel Bernardeau as Diego de la Vega and Renata Notni as Lolita Marquez, it’s definitely an intriguing-sounding action-adventure series, with a ten-episode first season based on the iconic character originally created by Johnston McCulley all the way back in 1919.
Meanwhile, upcoming drama series Expats is based on the bestselling 2016 novel The Expatriates by Janice Y. K. Lee, and follows “the vibrant lives of a close-knit expatriate community” in Hong Kong. Nicole Kidman has been known for picking the right kind of shows to lead in the past, so let’s hope this is another banger for the actress, who is also on board as an executive producer here.

There’s a lot to watch on Prime Video in October and, as you may have guessed, there’s spooky stuff galore in amongst Prime’s usual rotation of extensive library content.
In the movie Totally Killer, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka travels back in time to the 1980s to stop a serial killer. Then there’s Make Me Scream, a Halloween special that challenges celebrities to “a gruesome game of terror.” Renfield will also be streaming on the service for anyone who’s been dying (muahahaha!) to catch the Nic Cage Dracula film.
Outside of Prime Video’s more creepy fare, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods will debut, Upload will be back for a third season, and new film Awareness should scratch your sci-fi itch. Meanwhile, for Frasier heads – those who consider themselves utterly Frasier-pilled – all eleven seasons of the Cheers spinoff show will be streaming at the touch of a button.

As befitting its status as one of the world’s biggest companies, every now and then Amazon likes to take a big swing with its Prime Video originals. With its list of new releases for April 2023, the streamer is taking one of its biggest swings yet.
Though it’s not quite as vast or expensive as fellow Prime Video series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Citadel (premiering April 28) is a massive, massive undertaking. Starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, this spy series is described as “an expansive and groundbreaking global event comprising a mothership series and several local language satellite series.” This means that the Russo Brothers-produced project will eventually feature several spinoffs in multiple countries and languages around the world. Neat-o!

Prime Video is hoping to launch its own extended franchise universe in April with the premiere of international spy series “Citadel” from the minds of the Russo Brothers. The show stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra, and Stanley Tucci, and is intended to be the first block of an interconnected story with different spinoffs in countries and regions around the world. The first version will begin streaming on April 28. In the show, the world is in the grips of Manticore, a criminal organization, and several former spies are recruited to restore order despite having their memories erased.

Hey everyone! Sorry I was not around last week I took a mini vacay but now I am back! I am sure you all had plenty to read with Comic-Con and all! Anyways, there's not too much coming out this week but here's a few for you!
Clash of the Titans
If he is to save the life of the beautiful Princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos), the valiant Perseus (Sam Worthington) -- born to a god but raised as a man -- must lead a team of intrepid warriors on a quest to battle a host of powerful, beastly enemies. This sweeping fantasy epic, a remake of the 1981 hit, also stars Liam Neeson as Zeus, Ralph Fiennes as Hades, Danny Huston as Poseidon and Gemma Arterton as Io.
Starring: Sam Worthington, Alexa Davalos
Director: Louis Leterrier
This was not as good as the first one in my opinion. Worth a watch though.

This week's DVD and Blu-ray releases seem to have an overabundance of testosterone starting with the two biggest titles Clash of the Titans starring Sam Worthington, and Repo Men starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker. Also hitting stores today we have the latest Warner animated film Batman: Under the Red Hood, kung fu biopic Ip Man starring Donnie Yen, and the Dtv comedy Operation: Endgame starring Zach Galifianakis and Rob Corddry. Clearly the most anticipated title of the week, however, is the Blu-ray extended cut of Rambo -- now with 20% more throat ripping! Will you be buying or renting anything this week? Clash of the Titans (2010) [1] (+ Blu-ray [2]) Repo Men [3] (+ Blu-ray [4]) Operation: Endgame [5] (+ Blu-ray [6]) Vincere [7] Accidents Happen [8] (+ Blu-ray [9]) Ip Man [10] (+ Blu-ray [11]) The Job [12] Jesse Stone: No Remorse [13] Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated [14] Ray Bradbury's Chrysalis [15] Eclipse Series 22 Presenting Sacha Guitry: Criterion Collection [16] The Secret of the Grain:...

The Emmy and Golden Globe winner also recently starred in 'Jesse Stone: No Remorse,' the sixth entry in CBS' series of movie adaptations of the late Robert B. Parker's novels about alcoholic Lapd homicide detective-turned-Massachusetts police chief Stone.
With 'No Remorse' released on DVD today, Selleck took time to chat with TV Squad about his affection for the Stone character, filming his new TV series in NYC, whether or not Thomas Magnum will ever reunite with pals Higgins, T.C. and Rick,...

Fast National ratings for Sunday, May 9, 2010
Although CBS easily won Sunday night's ratings competition, it wasn't the finale of "The Amazing Race" that got the biggest numbers, but the return to the popular Tom Selleck-starring "Jesse Stone" franchise. The network was left in the dust, however, when it came to the 18-49 demo.
CBS averaged 11.1 million viewers and a 6.8 rating/12 share for the night, with ABC in a distant second with 8.6 million and 5.2/9. Those were followed by NBC (5.8 million, 3.5/6) and Fox (4.7 million, 2.8/5).
ABC led the way in the adult demo race with a 2.6, followed by Fox, 2.3, NBC, 2.1, and then CBS, 1.8.
Sunday hour by hour:
7 p.m.
CBS: "60 Minutes" (10.9 million viewers, 6.9/14 households)

More often than not I sit down to write this column and I have to face down the biggest and hardest part of the entire part: finding something intelligent to say about something on television. This can be anything from a breakdown/analysis of what is happening on one of my favorite shows to my take over-all on the direction I see something taking, whatever that thing may in fact be. I toil over this portion because I, unlike many of my print oriented (and some web based) piers, don’t receive early reviewer copies of any of the shows. It can be a bit of an uphill battle but at times I get struck in the head with a bit of an idea that I’m able to run with and I walk away happy. This isn’t one of those weeks.
The truth be told I keep finding...

Tom Selleck thinks an update of "The Rockford Files" without James Garner may as well be called "The Henderson Files."
Before he became a television icon in his own right on "Magnum, P.I.," Emmy winner Selleck played too-slick rival Lance White to Garner's Rockford in two episodes of the classic 1970s private-eye series. NBC is remaking "Rockford" with Dermot Mulroney in the title role, and while Selleck wishes him well, he feels a Garner-less "Rockford" just might not be "Rockford."
"They ought to cast Jim Garner," Selleck tells Zap2it. "I'm a little prejudiced because he was really a formative influence on me, even a mentor in so many ways, even though he probably wouldn't admit to it if he was aware of it.
"Dermot Mulroney seems like a fine actor in the work I've seen him do, and this has nothing to do with him -- but when you think of 'Rockford,...
