Poor start of a season
hugor25 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I like the show, despite a lot of its flaws, it's still entertaining, and i like the overall concept and atmosphere.

That said, the new direction towards a 'vision' of New Eden, or Layton becoming a prophet, just feels completely wrong considering how 'grounded' the show was, and how science would be the salvation. Data points. Samples. Melanie's sacrifice. But it seems the new direction just forgoes all that.

It might be a red herring, and i certainly hope so, but it doesn't seem like it.

Started poorly, hoping it picks up.

Not a fan of where this is going

I don't understand Layton's role in the story, why is he in charge? No support of the tail without Josie, first class never liked him, and he doesn't offer ANY "cop" or detective vibes whatsoever, if anything he comes off as being really slow.

I kinda get what they're trying to portrait him as, as this moralist nice guy that leaves noone behind and rallies people behind him with all his 'kindness' and 'goodness', but this concept is just so juiced out at this point it makes you fall asleep, and he doesn't even do a very good job at playing that role.

Episode 1 of season 3 is gripping!

So many new angles, I can't wait for the rest of the season. Who was that Layton found! The idea of "hotspots" remains a far in the future hope, they still need to survive until that long term.

Poor start. Hope this gets better again

Normally the first episode of the season is used to draw people back to the programme. This does a poor job of that.

It certainly lacks Jennifer Connelly who brought so much to this show. Sean Bean is still good but is barely seen. If Daveed Diggs 'Leyton' is now going to be a much bigger presence in this show then I think it is bad news. His acting is a bit poorer than the other leads, and the character is dull. It may just also be that Snowpiercer itself is running out of steam and that the original concept just isn't right for a protracted series.

Scenarists forgot what they wrote in first 2 seasons
erkinkula19 February 2022
The main idealogy of Layton was 'One Train' in season 2 and that is why the logical thing to do at the start of season 3 would be to try to have everyone as allies in the small train. Layton forgave and helped many people even though they did very bad things in season 1 and 2 so start of the season 3 was complete opposite which doesn't make sense at all. They were locking that three people even though they would give no harm because they have no experience in managing the train. If scenarists knew what they were writing in first 2 seasons, then they would make Layton have those three as allies. So now, the season started with non-sense acts from both sides. It didn't add any action to the series, it just made it much worse.

Main actor ruins the show

I love the general concept of the show and the storyline but the main character does very poor acting. Makes the show almost not watchable. I wish he would get replaced next season, the show loses so much quality just because of him.

Can't make heads or tails of it

What happened with this series? I had to watch the season 10 episode again and still have no idea what's going on. It is very unclear if something is now or if it's a flashback.

Bad Start
scottmannen11 February 2022
The opener was almost totally detached from what happened before. A lot of things were difficult to follow. There is definitely a more woke feeling to this episode than anything that came before, and that is not a good thing. It feels like the show is going down the wrong path now.

Please get rid of Layton
KRhea336 March 2022
I cannot watch him. Such a great concept and amazing set design, costumes, etc. But the Layton's acting and lack of emotion in anything he says is unbearable.
