I Appreciate The Writers On This
chanceb-245482 May 2021
At first, I thought this was going to be a political bashing of one side, but was pleasantly surprised. I appreciate how both political sides points of view were expressed, argued and then in the end, had some sort of understanding for one another. It is the way it should be. We all have our reasons for voting the way we do.

So autism is immoral now? Or is it woman and those of color in positions of authority that you have an issue with??

Trying to appease the right and ultimately failing.
I think it's a pointless effort to try and appease right wing viewers. There is no way to make it not seem like they are being talked down to by liberal writers. The complexities of some of these conversations will go right over anyone's head if they are angry. Stop trying to make it a Kumbaya moment, it won't work. This episode helped no one, but it was good drama.

It is a very emotional chapter, they treat 2 opposing points with great respect, with an ending that leaves you intrigued, simply beautiful.

Smart choice: Looks like we have 5 episodes with tons of drama ahead of us to save this season
olgairojasprado27 April 2021
From the last scene, it seems like they are going to put in these 5 remaining episodes all the drama that so far this season (which has been TOO calm) has not had yet, and It feels like it's going to hurt a lot💔😢

Not sure what other are watching
rfjouben28 April 2021
Great episode to show how people with different views can come together and also the difficulty of parenting. I am not sure what others are talking about because I watch the episode twice and they do not mention a political issue or who is left or right regarding the rally and the two moms. Even the Trump vs. Biden discussion was respectful and not very political.

Powerful and touching
westley3429 April 2021
I watched this episode because the very talented Italia Ricci is in it. I was not disappointment. It portrays two women with different political ideologies (never identifying who is on the right and who is on the left) both going through a horrible situation and their humanity comes through in a powerful way. It very tastefully portrays political schisms in the USA in today's world and hopefully sends a message that we can all be friends and love everyone. Shame on the cold hearted people that bashed this beautiful story.

Those with low reviews completely missed the point
phymas-1359329 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this was an amazingly nuanced episode tackling issues faced and our modern day political environment and was a very important conversation to have. Some have misunderstood this episode into thinking that it is liberals preaching a certain ideology when that is not even remotely the entire point of the episode. This episode was to showcase that people aren't just something that we can boil down to based on who they vote for or what ideology they hold, that people are complex beings that can't just be sorted into political categories. That was the main message of this episode, and those who missed that should take a closer look and reevaluate what they see. And I also think that it is unfair to rate something as bad just because it's not pure escapism. There are plenty of escapist shows out there to consume and there are indeed times for that where that is healthy but if that is all you think TV is good for then you are just choosing to cut yourself off from the world and that's not conducive for self-improvement and growth. I personally think that this might be one of the best episodes of the entire series, because it doesn't just talk about politics, it's a commentary on how politically devised and polarized we have become as a society and that is what's really hurting us. Not left-wing socialists, or right wing fascists but the fact that we can't even see people past a particular ideology and hear what they have to say for 2 seconds.

A small hint of fairness in ultra woke Hollywood?
Racingphan228 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Did we actually see a tv show that was allowed to admit that there are other legimate opinions besides extreme leftism? Maybe a glimpse of what most Americans actually believe? I'm astonished.

Meanwhile, Paige Spara is still the cutest human on earth.

No matter what side you are on, this was an example of what Hollywood should be producing to stop all the hatred that is dividing us and bring us together to respect and truly tolerate one another.

Thought provoking
jamitol29 April 2021
This episode brought up some very good points about political divisiveness in this country. Although you never knew which mother was on which side, the anger they had for each other was obviously driven by their ideology. Very well written.

Politics have turned me off
earl-5285427 April 2021
I have watched this show from the beginning and although I am politically independent I can see now why the Right speaks of cancel culture due to what the writers have done in this episode and will no longer be watching. "I figure we should talk" was never shown on screen but if it is shown in the next episode to dissolve this then I shall remove this review. One more show to watch.

When a show like "The Good Fight" has the writers' political views spill and take center stage I might as well watch a radical news broadcast instead of chilling out.

Nothing inflammatory about this episode
bachirm-0259420 May 2021
I actually finished watching this episode and unlike some who dismissed it for all kinds of bizarre "political" reasons , is was actually pretty good. I think the negative reactions reflect nothing more than some deep indoctrination and inability to critically think about issues even tangentially related to politics which this episode was. The writers at no point attempted to express a political opinion throughout this episode.

Politics didn't play a centerstage role in this episode, the writers sure didn't attempt to demonize to vilify one side or the other, which adds to my confusion about some of the reactions this episode has received , especially from folks on the right. How on earth is revealing some recurrent characters to be on the right an attack on the right? Oh, right, you didn't actually get through watching the entire episode, didn't you?

It is kind of unfortunate that the point of the episode flew over some people's heads, which in itself is ironic, because the writers were trying so hard to establish the humanity that is innate in all of us, and that no matter how irreconcilable and fierce our differences might feel, we're a lot more alike than we are different. In this case, two mothers anxiously waiting to hear some good news about their gravely injured children. But alas, the political gap is too wide for it be bridged this time. The country has been in a tumultuous civil war for a while now, we can't notice it because it's not conventional, but it's a civil war nonetheless. We got to start talking to each other again if we want a future for ourselves and our children, otherwise, we're just frogs being slowly boiled alive, something our adversaries can't wait to happen.

Finally, I can say that the only fault of this episode is that it was too ambitious for what it's trying to achieve, some folks aren't bright enough to pick up on the obvious message of this episode and some didn't bother to finish watching it. It could be that some who rated this episode down hated that two characters reaching across the aisle and reconciling with each other. I'm terrified to know the extent to which that's the case with some folks especially on the right which is where most of the negative "reviews" were coming from.

S4.E15 - Very Emotional [9/10]
panagiotis199324 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S4. E15) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 15 ''Waiting''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. They decided to start shooting people and they shoot the kids? There is no logic in that. I hope that both boys will be fine but im not very optimistic. I think this episode has a positive message about how people are so divided with politics and stuff but there are more important things that can unite people. The other mom is willing to give her own blood to save the child of the other mom? That's awesome. Both children were saved? I didn't expect that. What happened to Lea? Is she about to lose the baby? I hope not. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

Woke culture
alex123-229 April 2021
Just another Hollywood example that puts forth the full on hypocrisy and intolerance of the left. NRA bad. Trump bad. Of course belonging to the NRA or voting for Trump makes you evil and immediately changes someone's opinion of you. I mean, of course it does. How else would Hollywood play this?

Another pathetic attempt to push through a leftist political agenda. Once this show was about medicine, now it has turned into a wall newspaper covering the far-fetched problems of infantile idiots.

Damaged character
spikeluvr5 May 2021
I'm frankly sick to death of all the politics that pervade this past television season, almost entirely from only one perspective. But if the writers insist on writing yet another show about politics at least they did a decent job this time with the two mothers plot line. It was difficult to tell which mother was on which "side" and they were both sympathetic characters. I think the writers made an irretrievable mistake in dragging two of the series regulars into it. I won't forget the sneering, nasty way Dr Browne attacked Dr Wolke in the operating room when he admitted to voting for Trump. He looked like a scared rabbit and she looked like a full blown bigot. They made it even worse at the end when she sat down next to him and said with a sullen face, "We should talk". You can tell they won't be "talking". She'll be lecturing and expecting him to listen. She was one of my favorite characters and I'm not sure why the writers would want to damage the way viewers see her in that way.

an episode about mothers...
toadwriter1 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is called Waiting, and it's all about the mothers in the waiting room; the choices they made and the effects of those choices.

One mother didn't want her boy to be at a protest that her son wanted to be at. The other mother was essentially forcing the hand for something her boy had no interest in.

Life changes in an instant and now they have to live with those choices.

That's the drama of this episode Waiting.

If you like that emotional aspect of the show, then you'll probably like this episode. It can be intense and I felt the acting was alright. There was a little too much bickering, bonding, bickering, bonding, and Dr. Murphy's girlfriend - in my opinion - was completely out of place. She had a look on her face the whole time like she'd lost her puppy. I personally didn't like any of the moments in the waiting room. To top it off, the only time the doctors came into the waiting room was to give them disappointing news to make it seem like it was inevitable their sons would die. For 45 minutes, that was nearly all that happened. Attempts at bonding, bickering, depression.

The worst part is this episode did not feel authentic to me. It felt contrived and unbelievable. I know people grieve in different ways, but overall I wasn't drawn in to this episode. For the most part, I felt like turning it off, deleting it from the DVR, but - despite many pauses - I got through it. I remember this girl - one of the mother's - from a Keifer show. Designated Survivor. I haven't seen her since. She's an alright actress. But I wasn't feeling either of the moms' grief.

The underlying theme are the choices they made, but I guess a part of me knew the boys wouldn't die either, so I wasn't feeling it. Further, the message was all over the map. They were bashing Trump, protesting protests, putting women in the spotlight, well, I'm not sure the main goal of the episode, but honestly it was a total mess. They didn't have any of the regular aspects of the show we've come to expect.

The best part of the show was when Dr. Park had an epiphany about removing the bullet. That was a pretty good scene.

I really like when The Good Doctor focuses on medicine and coming up with solutions. I love when Dr. Murphy stands back and thinks about things, how it all ties together, then there's that euphoric moment.

Unfortunately, in the episode Waiting, the great majority of the episode focused on the reactions and temperament in the waiting room.

Forget about the protest and politics; this episode wasn't written or acted that well. It was a real downer for me. Granted, I do like aspects of the show and I feel compelled to watch each week, but this was one of the worst episodes - if not the worst - so I felt compelled to complain about it.

The Good Doctor needs to stop sprinkling in political issues and get back to medicine. I wish Dr. Brown's character were rewritten. She's always acting like a 50-year old who has all the answers and I'm pretty sick of her opinions. It's as if she wants all her fans to like her. I think some acting lessons would behoove her. I believe the show made a mistake letting Melendez go and they should be writing Glassman into the script more. I don't care about his personal stuff, but I like when he's a decision maker at the hospital. Dr. Lim is easy on the eyes, but her character is limited; she doesn't really act like a chief anymore. I love Reznick's brute honesty and especially the thought-process behind it. Her character is one of the most intriguing, but it can be overbearing, which is why I liked her relationship with Dr. Park, but the show doesn't seem to want to go there. I like their relationship much more than any other relationships in the show, but in all honesty, I wish all relationships would go away. Less personal life, more hospital drama.

Lousy script
JotaLawyer10 October 2022
I hadn't seen this chapter, but the plot, sprinkled with politics in its dialogues, made it lousy. I finished watching it because I'm a fan, but really, what a terrible choice to play politics in such an excellent program In this chapter the writer tried to show off and was bad with God and with the devil, lousy script.

The dialogues where they touched on the political issue were stupid and tendentious, it is supposed to be a dramatic series, not an opinion program.

It even seems to me that the actors were uncomfortable with the dialogues, politics, wherever they put it, will always create discord and discomfort Everything wrong in this chapter.

Warning: Spoilers
The drama per se was ok.. the story and expectation of both mothers waiting to see what happened to their kids... but come on, the way they portrayed politics there was terrible.. the right guns down people.. check.

At least they didn't put brown and lin to make their usual sexist remarks about men like they do every episodes.
