Exclusive: Canada’s Cream Productions has made some changes to its development team.
Veteran exec James Farr has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Development, and will lead a team comprising former Blue Ant Studios producer Zachary Frank, who has joined as Vice President of Development, and Jane Churchill-Smith, who has been upped to Director of Development.
Farr’s expanded role at the Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan producer will see him creating and developing programs for broadcast and cable nets, with a focus on true crime, history, pop culture and paranormal.

World football-focused streamer FIFA+ has acquired 90-minute feature doc Brazil 2002: The Real Story for territories including Asia (excluding Japan), Turkey and New Zealand following a deal with distributor Abacus Media Rights. The doc has also sold to Canal+ Group for Canal+ Foot and myCanal (France); Sky Deutschland; Sky Italia; Dbs Satellite Services (Israel and West Bank); Supersport Africa (for Africa); Nos Portugal (Portugal and PALOPs); Movistar Plus+ (Spain); and Stan (Australia). The CNN Originals hub debuted on Discovery+ on Friday, as the new home for the news channel’s streaming library following the abrupt closure of CNN+.
The hub was announced earlier this month, and features over 800 episodes of content from CNN Original Series, CNN Films, and Hln Original Series. Additional content will be added after their linear run on the CNN cable networks.
Some of the original content that appeared on CNN+ has popped up elsewhere. The documentary The Last Movie Stars, about Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, debuted this summer on HBO Max. Chris Wallace’s talk show, one of the marquee offerings, will return in September on CNN on Sunday nights and on HBO Max.

Starting today, Discovery+ subscribers will have access to many of CNN’s most popular evergreen television series, including popular food shows “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” and “Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy” and documentaries like “The History of Comedy” and “Diana.” The series can be found under a new CNN Originals hub on Discovery+, the latest addition to the popular documentary-heavy streaming service.

Fox News topped other cable networks in August, beating its cable news rivals as well other cable networks.
Audiences again were down across the board versus last year. The drop was somewhat expected, given last year’s presidential elections and, in August, the political conventions.
In primetime, Fox News drew 2.47 million viewers, down 32% from the same month a year earlier, followed by MSNBC with 1.23 million, down 44%, and CNN with 819,000, down 51%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 394,000 viewers, down 38%, compared to CNN with 191,000, down 58%, and MSNBC with 163,000, down 55%.
In total day, Fox News averaged 1.42 million, down 20%, compared to MSNBC with 732,000, down 41%, and CNN with 621,000, down 39%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 238,000, down 24%, compared to CNN with 136,000, off by 47%, and MSNBC with 96,000, down 51%.
