A reconceived SportsNation and a half-hour show from popular opinion host Stephen A. Smith are heading to ESPN+ as the growing streaming service adds more episodes of studio fare.
Both shows are slated to premiere Monday exclusively on January 11. SportsNation will hit the streaming service every weekday at 9:30Am Et and then be available on demand. Stephen A’s World will have nighttime premieres on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The new shows are arriving on ESPN+ during a period of growth and an overall emphasis on streaming by Disney. For ESPN, they hark back to the advent of key studio series like Pardon the Interruption two decades ago as the linear network sought to evolve beyond SportsCenter and live games. At its investor day last month, Disney said ESPN+ had hit 11.5 million subscribers about two-and-a-half years after it launched. It projects having between 20 million and 30 million subscribers by...

[[tmz:video id="0_3y12n1np"]] Espn host Michelle Beadle scoffed at the idea anyone owes Donald Trump an apology ... especially Jemele Hill. Michelle was on her way to work in L.A., where she co-hosts SportsNation on Espn, and she sure seems squarely on the side of Jemele, who called Trump a white supremacist on her twitter account. Trump is demanding an apology for "untruth" but Michelle is clearly unmoved. Espn is paying a really big price for its politics...

Max Kellerman has been a popular on-air sportstalk personality, boxing analyst and occasional political pundit for nearly 20 years now. Hell, the guy even dabbled in rap music for a while, sharing a legitimate record deal with his late brother Sam. You probably recognize his face — even without the chinstrap — maybe from a “Rocky” movie, perhaps from “I, Max,” “Around the Horn” or “SportsNation,” but those outside the sports-fan arena might not recognize Kellerman by name. That selective notoriety is becoming less and less common, however, now that he’s co-hosting Espn’s high-profile morning debate program “First Take” with...

Beadle was none-too-pleased with the Disney-owned cable channel’s decision to allow colleague Adam Schefter to interview the disgraced defensive end, who in 2014 was convicted of domestic abuse.

When an older man asks a pretty young lady if she watches Internet porn, that's creepy, right? Does it make a difference if that older man is Regis Philbin and the pretty young lady is Michelle Beadle, co-host of ESPN2's SportsNation? And if it happens on national TV, on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated)? All of these questions were answered Thursday when Philbin and Beadle started discussing the Web.
Philbin admitted he doesn't have "an Internet," while Beadle said that's what she does all day. "I read the Internet every day, that's all I do," said Beadle. "Just trashy news, real news, all of it." Beadle jokingly said she looks at pictures, which prompted Philbin to lean in and ask, "And I suppose you check out the porn, huh?"
