Over and over again in this week’s Grey’s Anatomy, Callie insisted to Arizona that she wasn’t moving their daughter to New York but merely discussing options. Nashville, when I said I wanted Maddie out of sight and more Rayna/Deacon scenes, this isn’t exactly what I meant.
Because Maddie’s decision to run away from home in Wednesday’s episode not only puts the hour’s focus on the truculent teen, it gives us plenty of Jaymes/Claybourne family turmoil that yes, gives us Rayna and Deacon in the same space, but also leaves the newlyweds snapping at each other in their worry over their missing daughter.

Read More: Berlin Film Festival Announces Full Jury, Along With Tributes to David Bowie, Alan Rickman and More Among the many promising pictures that will play in the Panorama section at this year's Berlin International Film Festival, the world premiere of "El Rey Del Once" is certainly one to keep an eye on. The film takes place in Buenos Aires' Jewish community and comes from Argentinian writer-director Daniel Burman ("Brother and Sister," Lost Embrace"). The official synopsis reads: "Ari, who has built a successful career in New York, thinks he has left his past behind. But his distant father Usher, who runs a Jewish aid foundation in El Once, the close-knit old Jewish neighborhood of Buenos Aires, summons him back to his native city. What ensues is a comedy of errors, of missed and found people and connections, and a rumination on the extent to which we can ever really leave our past behind.

It’s the eve of Halloween and what better way to celebrate than with an unboxing and review of the 2010 or 2011 (depending on sources) classic Monster Mutt!
Ryan and I came across this hidden gem in a bargain store bin last year and decided to film the unboxing so we could share the excitement with all of you. For whatever reason, the footage was left unused and forgotten…until now. If you’re not familiar with unboxing videos, basically someone films themselves opening an item and talks about it. They might do this with one hand so the camera shakes (see any Paul Greengrass movie) or they do it using what we in the business call a “Dutch tilt”, where the camera angle is deliberately slanted to one side, awesome right? Well, we did all of that.
First the trailer and synopsis for Monster Mutt:

The pursuit of greatness has been a topic of numerous films over the years, from true-life biopics and documentaries to fictional stories that look at the destructive downsides of doing so. Among the more recent films exploring the latter idea have been Darren Aronofsky’s 2010 ballet drama Black Swan and Damien Chazelle’s 2014 drumming drama Whiplash. Both films have been critically acclaimed, with Black Swan garnering a Best Performance Oscar for lead actress Natalie Portman, and Whiplash earning supporting actor Jk Simmons a Best Supporting Performance Oscar.
Now Vimeo user Fernando Andrés has put together a video essay exploring the similarities between the two films, which go beyond just being well-regarded films that delve into the same theme in two different artistic professions. Andrés had this to say in the video description.

Brother and sister duo Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, are two of the most notable characters being introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, arguably preceded only by the titular villain himself. Beyond their long history with the team in the comics, director Joss Whedon felt it was necessary that these two be present in the story. Despite finding out that the X-Men film series was using Quicksilver soon after Avengers: Age of Ultron planned to use him, Whedon told Rolling Stone that their version of the siblings not only gives Ultron someone to talk to (since his drones aren.t good for conversation), but also add something special to the story, calling their relationship "sweet and different and strange." In Whedon.s words: We need them because their powers are different, their looks are different, and their opinion is different. They will be young,...

Horse & Carriage: The Elkabetzs’ Kafkaesque Interpretation of So-Called Sacred Institution
The third film in a trilogy examining the relationship between a husband and wife comes full circle with Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem, a viciously astute examination of Israel’s divorce procedures. Brother and sister directing duo Roni and Schlomi Elkabetz began their enterprise back in 2004 with To Take a Wife, which continued with 7 Days in 2007, though it isn’t necessary to have seen either of these features to appreciate what they’re doing here with this deliciously crafted drama that’s as infuriating as it is highly engrossing. If on paper it sounds like a tedious slog of a subject matter, put aside those assumptions because the Elkabetzs’ have made an invigorating, emotionally charged powder keg, a film that simultaneously harpoons the misogynistic practices of the rabbinical courts just as it gives powerful agency to its highly determined female protagonist.

Till I Can Get My Satisfaction: Kurosawa’s Striking Psychosexual Marathon
Past traumas hopelessly infecting the present factor significantly in Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s monolithic psychosexual thriller, Penance, a five part made-for-television miniseries that premiered back in 2012 for North American audiences at the Toronto Film Festival, now receiving a limited theatrical release. Like many of Kurosawa’s best known works, he explores the ripple effects of tragic circumstances and their continually endless warping effects, perhaps sometimes seen as a metaphor for cultural tendencies at large. His latest plays like a tangential murder mystery of crossed paths, finally looping back to a finale that leads to more complicated depths, not unlike something David Lynch would do in this similar format of impressively orchestrated subplots and characterizations that makes for viewing in one sitting a head spinning ordeal.

Brother and sister, Ravi and Geeta Patel, co-directed "Meet The Patels," an intimate documentary detailing the processes of modern Indian matchmaking. It marks the siblings' first foray into directing. Ravi has previously acted in television shows such as "Scrubs," "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "Children's Hospital."[Editor's Note: Indiewire reached out to filmmakers with films playing at the 20th La Film Festival (June 11-19) to ask them about how they shot their indie, and what advice they had for other filmmakers. We'll be posting their responses throughout the run of the festival. Go Here for the master list.]What was the most difficult shoot on your movie and how did you pull it off? Rp: Well, I think the most important shoot was the one we didn't shoot at all. I don't want to give the plot away, but it involves a big talk I had with Mom and Dad. Geeta and I didn't want to film these kinds of super-intimate moments out of respect to the moments,...

Jessica Simpson presided over a wee little drag race at home this week. The singer turned fashion mogul on Tuesday shared a too-adorable photo of 2-year-old daughter Maxwell and 10-month-old son Ace "driving" side-by-side in Little Tikes cars. Maxwell's ride was pink with a blue hard top, standard shift, while Ace scored a hot-pink convertible and appeared to be getting a push, stroller-style, from behind. "Ace and Maxi looking like twins! And yes, they share pink cars :)" Simpson wrote on Instagram. Brother and sister were both wearing gray T-shirts and Ace paired his with camouflage-print shorts. Meanwhile, the kids' hot mama has been attracting lots of pictorial...

Wild Tales is coproduced by Pedro and Agustín Almodóvar’s El Deseo in Spain and Hugo Sigman’s Kramer & Sigman in Argentina and directed by Damián Szifron.
The film is made up of six separate stories. It’s billed as “a darkly comic story of tragedy, love, deception, the past, and the violence lurking beneath the surface of the everyday. Ti West's latest horror film The Sacrament is currently available on iTunes and OnDemand. It will open in cinemas on June 6. CraveOnline got an exclusive clip from the film to share with everyone. So a virtual pat on their backs for sharing it with us. Yay, them. However! The folks over at CraveOnline have also put up a Spoiler Alert warning along with this clip. They say that this 'Brother and Sister' clip is 'an important, scary plot point' in the film. So though it only be a forty second clip, it is apparently a dangerous forty second clip to watch if you do not want anything to be ruined for you when you watch it. We're getting down to the wire now - this was the penultimate round of blind auditions, so the teams are getting pretty packed. That means it was much harder for the coaches to agree to turn - after all, they never know who's going to come next.
Still, when they weren't showing off their blinding moves (seriously, how are these lot popstars?) or being baffled about Ricky's decision to compare acts he didn't want to bread makers, golf clubs or speedboats, they managed to grab some lucky auditionees for their teams - a total of eight, in fact. The standard was pretty high, but who made it? We've tried to rank them all, which, as always, was pretty tough. Read on to find out who we loved, and let us know if you agree below...

After the destruction of the Glades last season, "Arrow" Season 2 brings a somewhat fresh start to the series' hero journey. With new enemies -- like Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau) -- and new roles, photos from the premiere episode, "City of Heroes," are needed to show what's coming next.
What's going to happen in this episode? To start with, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) have to travel to Lian Yu to retrieve Oliver (Stephen Amell). They do get him back home, but the city and the Queens' world are in worse shape than expected: Rochev wants to take over Queen Consolidated, Thea (Willa Holland) won't visit her mother in prison, Roy (Colton Haynes) is trying to be the city's new vigilante, and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is working to end the freelance crime-fighting with the District Attorney's office.

Every once in a while a show comes along that – for comedy’s sake – doesn’t hold anything back. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is one of those shows.
The FX comedy focuses on a group of “friends” that own a bar in Philadelphia who are constantly sabotaging, manipulating, and scheming to get what they want, regardless of the causalities Whether they’re serving under- aged kids alcohol for the good of society or pretending to have cancer to find love, The Gang are always up to something more hilarious than the week before.
As a result of, we feel it’s pretty safe to say that It’s Always Sunny is one of the funniest shows on TV. Here’s 10 reasons why.
Note: There are some very specific and spoilery details in this article, so do proceed with caution.

The Los Angeles auditions certainly got off on the right foot with the first straight-to-Vegas dancer, Alexa Anderson. The 19-year-old hopeful made it all the way to the final judging during last season's Top 20 reveal, but ultimately lost out to Season 8 dancer Ryan. Lucky for us, Alexa decided to give it another go for Season 9 and now she is headed straight to Vegas!

There are few places less sexy than on a subway train but there’s Brandon Sullivan (Michael Fassbender, Inglourious Basterds, Prometheus) in the middle of Shame, eyeing his next prey sitting opposite of him. They make flirtatious glances at each other; he sizes her up while she’s crossing her legs and shifting in her seat. As the train comes to a stop the woman (Lucy Walters) stands up, preparing to exit the train when we see that she’s either engaged or married, but doesn’t stop Brandon. He places his hand right below hers on the hand bar and stands right behind her as if to catch a whiff of her perfume. When the train door opens, she bolts and doesn’t look back. Brandon hesitates for a second and aggressively gives chase, but when he loses her in the crowd he turns around and heads back to get back on the train.

HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 2 “The Night Lands” TV Teaser
Last week’s season 2 premiere of HBO’s Game of Thrones is one of two episodes I’ve seen from the series (the other being the pilot from season 1) and I have to admit that it’s damn successful as a reentry into Westeros, I agreed with what I’m guessing were the motives for the way the episode was cut in relation to George R.R. Martin’s A Clash of Kings novel (check out Elizabeth’s thoughts on Game of Thrones: “The North Remembers”), and just a nicely crafted episode of television in general. Tonight brings us “The Night Lands”, and the teaser illustrates just how much this game of thrones is (thus far) family squabbles and interactions. From Theon and his Lord Father, from Brother and Sister Lannister, from sweet Emilia Clarke (Dany) and her new somewhat adopted family,...

This review originally ran during the 2012 Berlin Film Festival.
Opening the Generation section of the 2012 Berlinale, which is designed to promote films for, by and/or about young people, we honestly weren't sure what to expect from "Electrick Children," the debut film from writer/director Rebecca Thomas. Colour us pleasantly surprised then to discover that the film is a genuinely enjoyable coming of age tale that compensates, and then some, for its narrative shortcomings with the winningness of the three central performances, from Rory Culkin, Liam Aiken and a luminous Julia Garner. It's really Garner's movie, and young though she is, she imbues a role that could easily have come across as prissy or doltish with a perfect combination of sweetness, naivete and stubbornness that sells even the less convincing nooks and crannies of the story.
