From being involved in major IPs, including Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes, the MCU, and Star Wars to helming on the director’s chair in three films, Andy Serkis has been a very busy man in Hollywood. Having marked his directorial debut with 2017’s Breathe, the acclaimed actor has gone on to direct two more features, one of them being 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
But the Black Panther star refused to return for the Venom threequel in order to bring another one of his projects to life, which was on the sidelines for over a decade following his packed schedule.

Venom: The Last Dance's Official Logo Has Been Revealed As Merchandise Starts Finding Its Way Online
We've already seen a fake logo for Venom: The Last Dance, and plenty of fan-made efforts have continued to do the rounds ever since. Now, though, generic merchandise has surfaced on Amazon which finally reveals the real deal.
It's not overly exciting if we're being honest, but a logo is a logo and we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the coming months. Like the title itself, it doesn't give much away and we wouldn't necessarily assume the red is any sort of giveaway about who Venom is facing.
The fact this logo has surfaced now could be an indication that a trailer is somewhere on the horizon and we'd put money on it being ready to go with Bad Boys: Ride or Die in June.
Merchandise for the Venom franchise has typically been pretty rare outside of Funko Pops and the odd Hot Toys figure, so we...

Rumor: Avengers: Secret Wars Will Finally Address Spider-man: No Way Home's Venom Post-Credits Scene
In Venom: Let There Be Carnage's surprise post-credits scene, Eddie Brock found himself mysteriously transported to the McU's Earth-616. The symbiote caught sight of Spider-Man on a news report and was clearly interested in tracking the web-slinger down.
There was no sign of him in Spider-Man: No Way Home until another stinger revealed that Eddie had decided against leaving Mexico.
When Doctor Strange unleashed his spell, Venom was sent home but left a piece of the symbiote behind. The stage was then set for Peter Parker to eventually get his own alien suit, though we still don't quite know how it would travel across the border to New York City.
In the three years since Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, we've been left to assume that this was a Sony-mandated add-on which isn't likely to lead anywhere.
However, according to a new rumour shared by The Cosmic Circus' @AlexFromCC,...

Madame Web arrived in theaters earlier this year and is seemingly destined to go down as one of the worst superhero movies ever made.
With 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, it earned only $100.3 million at the worldwide box office, making it a critical and commercial flop Sony won't easily recover from. Of course, it's too late now to change its 2024 slate as Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter are fast approaching.
Box office numbers like the ones above confirm the vast majority of fans and regular moviegoers didn't bother seeing Madame Web on the big screen, but you'll soon be able to watch it at home... provided you have a Netflix subscription.

Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy presented the Batman lore in a grounded and exciting fashion with Christian Bale playing the titular role. The trilogy also presented a rich array of supervillains paired against Batman with Heath Ledger’s Joker and Tom Hardy’s Bane being a talking point for fans.
Heath Ledger as Joker in The Dark Knight
Each actor brought so much complexity to their roles and while both are drastically different characters, fans often compare them and decide who was more compelling. However, Nolan believes that the two characters do not exist in the same periphery and are not suited for a justified comparison.

Since Sony and Disney struck a deal for Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016 with Tom Holland’s debut as the web-slinger, Sony has focused on building its own cinematic universe, known as Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (Ssu). Although Spider-Man has yet to appear in this universe, other associated characters have.
Ssu began with ‘Venom’ in 2018, followed by several other movies including a sequel to ‘Venom,’ ‘Morbius,’ and most recently ‘Madame Web.’ While these movies haven’t received widespread critical acclaim, with ‘Morbius’ and ‘Madame Web’ gaining more attention as memes than at the box office, Ssu continues to expand. This year, two more movies are slated for release: ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ and ‘Kraven the Hunter.’

Since Sony and Disney made a deal about Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which Tom Holland debuted as the web-slinger in 2016, Sony decided to put more effort into building their own cinematic universe, officially called Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, in which Spider-Man still hasn’t appeared, but some other characters associated with him have.
Ssu kicked off with ‘Venom’ in 2018 and since then several other movies have been released, sequel to ‘Venom,’ ‘Morbius’ and most recently released ‘Madame Web.’ The movies weren’t exactly critically acclaimed, with ‘Morbius’ and ‘Madame Web’ earning more in meme points than at the box office. But, Ssu goes on, and this year alone two additional movies will be released, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ and ‘Kraven the Hunter.’
‘Kraven the Hunter’ was supposed to be released on August 30, but its release date was pushed back to December 13, 2024. The film took over Karate Kid’s original release date.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe hasn’t had a great start this year, with ‘Madame Web’ being a disappointing flop. However, there’s hope with two big releases lined up: ‘Kraven the Hunter’ and the last movie in the ‘Venom’ series.
Yes, you heard it right, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ marks the end of the ‘Venom’ franchise in the Sony Spider-Man Universe. There’s speculation that the character might crossover into the MCU in the future, but that’s just hearsay for now. Given the mystery surrounding the movie, let’s summarize what we know so far about its plot, cast, release date, and other details.
The movie’s plot is kept secret
Typically, comic adaptations are rife with leaks and insider information, but the ‘Venom’ franchise has been surprisingly tight-lipped. As a result, we have no official or unofficial hints about the movie’s plot.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is not off to a good start this year, as the cinematic universe opened 2024 with a majestic flop ‘Madame Web.’ Luckily there are ample opportunities to turn this around since there are two notable releases awaiting us this year, ‘Kraven the Hunter,’ and the final installment of the ‘Venom’ franchise.
Yes, you’ve read that correctly, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ is the final ‘Venom’ movie in the Ssu, with some speculations pointing in the direction that the character could be included in the MCU going forward, but as I’ve said those are just rumors. How Politics Affects Superhero Flicks: ‘Venom 3’ Changed Release Dates Due to Elections, Reports Say
A few weeks ago, it was announced that the latest Ssu entry, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ will be released on October 25, which is quite a shift from its previous release date, scheduled on November 8, 2024.
Shifting release dates are nothing new for movies but in most cases, the movies in question get delayed and not advanced, which was quite a surprise. Fans did not however question at the time, and now the latest report from Variety, points in the direction that the movie shifted its release date due to upcoming US elections.
During election seasons, particularly around major elections like presidential elections, media coverage can dominate public attention. Movies may choose to avoid releasing during this time to ensure they don’t compete for audience attention with election-related news and events. Marketing costs a pretty penny, sometimes further bloating the development costs, so it doesn’t make all that much sense...

Politics’ Impact on Superhero Movies: Reports Claim ‘Venom 3’ Shifted Release Dates Due to Elections
Several weeks ago, it was revealed that the newest Ssu installment, ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ would hit theaters on October 25, a notable change from its original November 8, 2024 release date.
While changes in release dates are common for movies, they typically involve delays rather than advances, making this shift quite unexpected. Fans didn’t raise questions initially, but a recent report from Variety suggests that the movie’s change in release date is due to the upcoming US elections.
During election seasons, especially around significant events like presidential elections, media coverage tends to dominate public focus. Movies may opt to delay their release during this time to avoid competing for audience attention with election-related news and events. Marketing expenses can be substantial, adding to the overall production costs, so it’s not always practical to vie with one of the country’s most prominent marketing and public relations machines.

One would be forgiven for not having thought about "Madame Web" for several weeks, but as the movie's theatrical run has wound down, it has come to our attention that its running total is in a pretty darkly hilarious place. Sony's latest Marvel Comics adaptation is currently just a few dollars (relatively speaking) shy of breaking $100 million worldwide. And given that it doesn't seem to be playing in any theaters right now, it will probably be stuck just shy of that milestone in the history books.
Director S.J. Clarkson's "Madame Web" has sold $99,312,851 worth of tickets worldwide. That includes $43.8 million domestically. Relative to what superhero movies have been making in theaters over the past 20 years, less than $700,000 is right next to nothing. Unfortunately, a combination of factors led to this film's demise. Critics were generally pretty unkind to it. (You can read /Film's "Madame Web" review right here.

“Civil War,” the A24 action-thriller about a violently divided United States, isn’t offering up much in the way of escapism. Though it takes place in the dystopian future, it not-so-subtly feeds into the blue-state/red-state rift that’s sure to widen as the race for the White House heats up.
That strategy is prominent in the movie’s patriotic-tinged marketing materials, which include a blood-soaked trailer featuring a missile that blows up the Lincoln Memorial, a poster of soldiers sandbagging the Statue of Liberty’s flame and references to successionist forces of California and Texas.
Yet elsewhere in Hollywood, movie studios are trying desperately to steer clear of promotional efforts that seem even remotely political — lest they find themselves unwittingly embroiled in a cultural firestorm. It’s a fair concern. Long before the country started preparing for one of the most polarizing presidential elections in its history, several movies...

Despite some of the Ssu movies getting mixed or negative reviews (like Morbius), the Ssu keeps going and now has many live-action and animated projects in the works, focusing on Spider-Man’s side characters and villains. ‘Madame Web’ came out on February 14th and didn’t do well, with Dakota Johnson criticizing its development publicly.
Upcoming releases include ‘Kraven the Hunter’ on August 30th, 2024, and ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ which changed its release date to October 25th instead of November 3rd. ‘Venom’ is the most successful franchise in the Ssu, so it’s not surprising that there are reports of Feige wanting to bring him into the MCU.

Sony Pictures has just revealed Venom 3‘s new title! Originally slated for a November release, the upcoming Venom sequel is now set to hit theaters on October 25, 2024. This keeps the tradition alive for Venom movies — as every film of the gooey anti-hero has gotten its release in October and it no doubt aims to capitalize on those Halloween ticket sales. But the even bigger news that’s got fans all worked up is of course the film’s brand-new title. Venom 3 has officially been renamed Venom: The Last Dance. However, “Captain America: Brave New World” faced significant setbacks. It was delayed for a year and needed extensive reshoots and rewrites due to disappointing test screenings.
Reportedly, the story underwent major changes. One minor villain group, the Serpent Society, was completely removed from the film. Initial reports suggested the movie had problems with action scenes not meeting the standards set by previous “Captain America” films. However, insider Oh How I Marvel At Those Marvels provided more details. They mentioned issues with the action, chemistry between the leads, and the movie’s political messages.

Several MCU projects were put back on track after the SAG-AFTRA strike was over, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ & ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ are already finished with reshoots and are on their way to hit the screens this year, with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ already having trailer out. One project that suffered more than most was ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ which got delayed for a full year and had to undergo extensive reshoots and rewrites following unsatisfactory test screenings.
Allegedly, the story was modified to a large extent and one minor villain group that was supposed to appear in the movie – Serpent Society – was removed from the film altogether. Now initially reports were brief when describing what went wrong with the movie citing bad action scenes that weren’t up to par with previous ‘Captain America’ films that set the bar pretty high. It is already known that fans will definitely get a third Venom movie as actor Tom Hardy stated in August 2018 that he had signed on to star in three Venom films. So far, we have got two movies and both of them had a decent box office run. Although the movie is set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (Ssu), it has been hinted in 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage that the franchise might get integrated with Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A still from Venom (2018)
Recently, Sony announced the third film’s title, Venom: The Last Dance, a phrase which is often used to describe the last act. Sony also revealed that the film is all set to hit the theatres on October 25th, 2024. In a recent interview, industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed his opinion on the film’s title, suspecting that the film’s going to be a “symbiote mayhem.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, or Ssu, keeps expanding, and the movie that started it all ‘Venom’ released in 2018, is bound to get its second sequel in 2024 with Tom Hardy returning to the role of the beloved Symbiote. Last summer, which was supposed to see some of the most expected productions resume and conclude, especially related to the superheroes, was affected by the longest SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood’s history— lasting for 118 days.
Both Ssu and MCU were paused, and both cinematic universes have a plethora of projects lined up to be developed, but in any case, shortly after the strike ended, both parties reached good deals, and the news broke out that ‘Venom 3’ will resume production and the movie received a new postponed release date set to hit the cinemas on November 8, 2024. Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (Ssu) continues to grow, with the 2018 film “Venom” paving the way for its expansion. A second sequel is set to release in 2024, featuring Tom Hardy reprising his role as the iconic Symbiote. Last summer, anticipated productions, particularly superhero-related ones, were disrupted by the longest SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood’s history, spanning 118 days.
Both the Ssu and MCU faced delays, with numerous projects awaiting development. However, following the strike’s resolution, both parties reached favorable agreements. Subsequently, it was revealed that production for “Venom 3” would resume, with a new release date scheduled for November 8, 2024. Yesterday’s announcement unveiled the title of the final installment in the ‘Venom’ franchise as ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ with an earlier release date moved up to October 5, 2024.

To the surprise of no one (at least no one familiar with “Morbius“), “Madame Web” was a box office bomb and the first cinematic laughingstock of 2024. Not a great start of the year for Sony, who has two other spinoffs in its “Spider-verse” hitting theaters this year: “Kraven The Hunter” on August 30 and the newly titled “Venom: The Last Dance” on October 25.

It’s a big year for Sony’s Spider-Man-adjacent comic book universe. The year started with Madame Web connecting them all – and this summer, we’ll see Aaron Taylor-Johnson make his debut as the title character of J.C. Chandor’s Kraven The Hunter. And beyond that, there’s a third film to come from the ‘Spumc’ (as it was once known) in 2024 – Tom Hardy’s third outing as Venom. Now, some fresh details have emerged about what’s in store.
The film has received the official title Venom: The Last Dance – a title that indicates a possible trilogy-capping final chapter. Or, perhaps, a Magic Mike-esque bout of male stripping. Perhaps even both. The film – both written and directed by Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote on Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage – also has a new release date, set to hit screens on 25 October. Sony has announced that Venom 3’s official title is Venom: The Last Dance, and has moved its US release date forward from November to October 2024.
The third and final film in Sony’s unholy trinity of Spider-Man adjacent releases for 2024, Venom 3 has now been given an official title – Venom: The Last Dance. Its US release date has also been moved forward a touch – from its original 8th November slot to 25th October. And that’s it. Bye!
Wait, you want more? Sigh.
As the new title implies, Venom: The Last Dance is billed as Tom Hardy’s final outing as the titular anti-hero, also known as Eddie Brock. British screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who wrote the previous two films – 2018’s Venom and 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage – will also direct as well as produce this time round, making it quite an auteur project.

While Sony’s Spider-Verse movies Madame Web and Morbius both laid eggs at the box office (to put it mildly), another live-action franchise from the studio has been minting money – the Venom films. Despite pretty awful reviews, the first movie made $856 million worldwide. The sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, only made just over $500 million (still a lot of moolah), but that was due to opening during the pandemic (it was actually the third highest-grossing movie of the year). With the third film pretty much guaranteed to make money no matter how it fares with critics, Sony is moving it up slightly on the release calendar, with it now set for October 25th, 2024. The movie also has a new title, Venom: The Last Dance.
This pre-Halloween weekend propelled Five Nights at Freddy’s to a huge opening, and Sony is no doubt hoping to score with horror audiences as well as superhero fans.

It is understood the date change for The Batman Part II stems from the Hollywood strikes, which halted and severely disrupted studio production for close to six months last year.

Spider-Man: No Way Home rocked the world of Marvel fandom more than two years ago and left the fans of the web-slinger immensely satisfied. One of the well-hidden secrets in the film was the appearance of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Mans from earlier Sony films. One scene involving Garfield’s Peter Parker has sparked new doubts about a potential plot hole in the billion-dollar-grossing film.

Peter Parker’s new status quo as of the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home leaves him in a pretty isolated situation. Cut off from everyone he has ever known, there might be one ray of hope for the character, that could bring back the memories of the people, undoing the spell: Tom Hardy’s Venom.

The theory posited on Reddit focuses on the little titbit of information that was dropped at the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage when the symbiote informed Eddie Brock of his kind function more like a hive mind, able to extract and collate information from across the multiverse. Dakota Johnson, who’s routinely taken semi-reserved pot-shots at her ill-received superhero movie Madame Web, is taking off the gloves. Speaking with Bustle, the Fifty Shades of Grey actress described her nightmarish experience while making Madame Web, saying the end product was nothing like what she and the team set out to make.
