Pretty poor quality

I feel like this is a group of friends or a drama club who have got together to make a movie. Most everyone is very average actors. The husband was the vest of the lot. Not sure why I bothered to watch it all the way through. The acting is flat with people talking without any expression in their voices. The voice overs and when megan talks to herself was so annoying especially the throw to the dog as if it's listening. The scenery is nice. I think this maybe the first acting experience jobs, if you can call it that, for many of the actors in this movie. The brother hitting his face in one of the scenes was so bad when he heats about Heidi.

Watchable, but only just

Warning: Spoilers
This fits neatly into the 'midday movie' realm. The acting is wooden and the plot is full of ridiculous elements that wouldn't fly in the real world (like the main character, an author and wife to the sheriff, being given full, unfettered access to a crime scene), but it's watchable when you don't want to have to think too hard. It seems as though the director wanted to go for a 'realism' approach, with conversations coming across as everyday, some even bordering on the mundane, but the poor acting meant that this just made the film feel unpolished. There are no surprises here, and everything feels overly neat and formulaic, but sometimes that's not a bad thing when you just want to sit down to a movie in the middle of the day.

Looking for great acting and depth of character...?

...you're looking in the wrong place. This movie is well filmed, reasonably well directed, locations good and continuity is fantastic. But the actors and acting are worse than the worse amateur dramatics society. I have seen under 5's perform nativity plays better with more emotion and a portrayal of genuine characters. I have seen better acting by convicted killers in prison productions. The script appears to have been written in crayon by someone that flunked writing non-verbal television commercials for washing detergent. Avoid at all costs, your brain with pack its bags and leave you, slapping you in the face in shame.

What a waste of time

There were some lovely views included in this movie and a cute child and dog, but they were the only bearable elements. The acting was more wooden than the houses featured in the movie. The lead actress totally lacked believability. She had the emotional depth of a brick. There were offensive references to a person's weight. Some were plot driven; one was totally irrelevant and insulting. Absolutely ridden with plot holes. Time lines made no sense. At one point they seemed to be eating a breakfast of beer and green salad. The husband then went straight up work. Utter rubbish. I cannot believe this movie was ever made.

Not as bad as reviews suggest unless you need the hype and glitter

Honestly, this is a low cost movie very obviously done on a smaller budget, but the story itself is one that should be told, whether fact or fiction. It's not a new storyline by any means, but I sort of enjoyed this flick because it has the feel of real people involved and I truly believe that's part of what it's supposed to be like. In real life there aren't car chases or big screen flashing lights or big conspiracies taking place. This one is for the underdog, those lost in the shuffle of society and whose voices still should be heard. Not everything is Hollywood or Hollyweird. I'm okay with that. Oh, and the scenery is lovely.
