"Everywhere" efficiently takes a unique and comedic look at love and jealousy
napierslogs29 November 2010
Jim (Patrick McKenna) is a man with extreme insecurities and jealousy dominating his life. "Everywhere" takes a comedic approach to exploring Jim's new relationship with Isabelle. He thinks he can love himself and be happy and be in a stable relationship, if only he knew where Isabelle was at all times.

Lively music helps keep the pace up as Jim follows Isabelle everywhere, and often a few steps ahead of me as I didn't always know what was going to happen next. I laughed at McKenna's portrayal of the least self-confident character ever imaginable, and I enjoyed the simple adventure the film took me on.

"Everywhere" got serious as it took a more dramatic look at the fates of the relationships explored, but it showed the true hearts involved. This small Canadian film impressed me with its unique characterizations and taking a route void of formulae and clichés.

Jim Fenton is the portrait of success, but scratch the surface, however and a different image
ponaritaxi4 November 2010
Jim Fenton is the portrait of success. Good-looking, smart and rich with an incisive sense of humour, he is set to marry Isabelle, the love of his life. Scratch the surface, however and a different image emerges. Jim is terrified of growing up and visits a private clinic for injections more often than others go to the gym. He is also terminally jealous. The memories of former failed love affairs emerge and push his jealousy to new extremes. Technology might be the solution to his insecurities if it lets him know where Isabelle is at every minute of the day. Everywhere, a romantic comedy, explores love pushed to its most bitter and destructive extreme. And yet, when everything seems hopelessly lost, we learn there is always a path to redemption.

Aberrantly fantasist. In what universe a physician doing such a thing would still keep his license??

Lesson: don't always believe the ratings

I have to admit, after seeing the ratings for this movie, I thought, "why bother?" But I'm a Patrick McKenna fan, so thought I would take a chance. And I'm glad I did. I found it to be a sweet, funny story that I would recommend to friends.
