Political sewer again
ajwiiiaw11 May 2022
I really wanted to give this episode an 8 until you ruined it with the political sewer again. Why do you insist on bringing that into what was an original good show? You can have that relationship but stop with putting it front and center. The show was about a gifted doctor with a disability and how he has faced the challenges that go with it not about a gay relationship. Get back to what the show was and leave that stuff in the gutter where it belongs.

We love Lucho!
dvdr-4111513 May 2022
The boy who played Lucho gave a brilliant performance! He is so adorable!! I cried when he grabbed Dr. Claire's hand to console her! I hope Dr. Claire returns for good in season 6. She is one of my favorite characters on the show. Great episode! I cannot wait flit see the final episode. You know there is going to be some big twist to set up season 6. I hope no one dies!

Uff...

This show's format has become a generic formula, zero depth.

At least in last few seasons, despite being average at best, they had a few quality medical/story plots. Now it is some 100% predictable melodrama with medical content more of a tag alone than core, most involving anti-men or some of the numerous currently hip soc-pol fads.

Also even during surgery 90% is gossip (as if there was not enough of relationship drama already) while doing surgery more as a backdrop and 10% medical. The 10% is usually - going fine -going fine -going fine, oh no problem! Emergency! Resolution, uf problem solver. Or Shaun has an "idea" in the last quarter and saves the day. Always the same.... horrible writing.

Forget Shaun and his past seasons interesting perspectives and dealings with people and medicine due to his condition. Nah.., its a soap opera now first and foremost. Bad predictable, generic one.

This is unwatchable, I skip ahead constantly, watch the show in max 10 mins.

Another outstanding show!

Once again, the writing and acting in this show are just amazing! Having Dr. Claire return was wonderful, too. We just love this show; it makes us both laugh and cry.

S5.E17 - No Wedding Again! [9/10]
panagiotis19933 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S5. E17) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 17 ''The Lea Show''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 10/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. It's so nice to have Claire back. I hope she will be in more episodes. The nurse is in an abusive relationship, better end it soon or she will end up getting fired. This little boy has tumors everywhere, that sucks. The nurse quit? That sucks. The little boy is going to die? That sucks. Did Shaun just found a way to save the boy? Awesome. Lea chose a beautiful dress for the wedding. Wait is the wedding canceled? Again? That's so annoying. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

We've waiting all season for this?

How much can on show drag out a wedding? Just go to the JP and get it over with already. One part of the show is real. Doctors discuss very mundane and stupid things in surgery when their patient's life is on the line. A study in Canada found that cutting operating room chatter led to better outcomes. They should be modeling that behavior instead of what to wear to a wedding. Let's get back to the premise of Shaun's fantastic abilities to find solutions because of his autism and less about every couples' love life.

Wait did I miss Something?
moov_e_c_er27 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
First when Glassman makes comments to change a million dollar idea into a billion dollar idea none of it was sexist at all: that's a great business option even if he was straight investor or just used for his contacts and was dumb enough to give them without getting a percentage.

Second when the wedding is about to happen I hated the veil. The entire process to bring and then change was simply a repeat of a few episodes I think of last season. It was simply a delay tactic and it was a lazy effort.

Overall some episodes or moments are beyond amazing (like Freddie's breakdown in pharmacy room). Some episodes and moments are just background noise and filler episodes. This one felt half and half.

A once mighty edifice descending to slum tenements
bosporan10 May 2022
This has been one of my very few ten star shows, but now it is a laissez faire cluster-jumble that has lost its way and strayed from its once beautiful premise. It is a shame it has been granted a season six when it is in need of humane destruction.

If the shambolic writing and lack of direction or purpose are not addressed, the new season is in danger of destroying the show's legacy.

Warning: Spoilers
Woke for ages.. previously with Dr Glassman being called sexist just because he has more experience and contacts than the first or second year resident and the it girl.. yeah right.. dr lim always making snarky comments about men in general.. men are like this and that... sometimes borderline misandry right there.. now dr brown choosing an option that almost kills the patient and she tells the dr lim she is losing her humanity because she sidelined a nurse who almost let a patient die... hahaha dude, having compassion is one thing but she, as the chief of surgery, should not allow that to continue, no matter if the sorority card wants to be played here.. now imagine if nurse had been a man.. with any kind of personal problems? Do you think he would have the same benevolent treatment by her boss? No he would not and since it is not woke enough, writers would not even bother to make a story about it.

Flat 5th season, more like a whole filler season
Filthyism1 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This season has felt so flat and a waste of time. Nearly on the verge of "How I met your mother's" last 3 seasons.

So first half of the season we have a new boss, who is one of the most vile in a long time (blackmail and cares more about money, and ratings)than people's health and a baby dies due to it. Then when they're about to go up against her, her then boyfriend uses material on himself to damage the hospital's reputation and she just leaves?????

And then a few episodes to set up a tv reality wedding, ONLY TO NOT HAVE IT HAPPEN CUZ ITS NOT THEM? COME ON! This season feels like filler, and bad filler at that.

Medical This Is Us
frosted_tearz10 May 2022
Lea is the Jack of this show. Never leaves and her story just drags on. This season is very similar to This is Us' finale season. Shock value, jumping the shark, terrible, terrible writing. Broadcast tv deserves to die.

At the very least use subtitles
oatmeal19910 May 2022
It's hard to like a show when you can't understand the dialogue! We live in America there is No reason to go out of the way to speak spanish. The show in it's early days was so good, now it's just getting stupidly silly.

Why do you have to put Claire back?
ilonaorange5 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Every episode with Claire in it sucks! Here's another proof! Everytime she would just walk in the room and act like she saved the day while in fact she's the one jeopardizing her patient's life! And everytime it is Shaun who saved her ass! She did nothing but let other people clean up her mess, and then she was the crowned one? WTF? Dr. Lim was right, but Claire is still praised? For what? For believing she knows better just because she cares? I really can't stand this snob, why does it seem like I'm the only one?

Also, the wedding part disgusts me, too! I hate all those "running away bride/groom" plots. They show how irresponsible a person can be, and this show encourages this kind of behavior and let people think that's okay to be irresponsible and reckless? Can't you get things straight prior to the wedding? You're wasting money and everyone else's time and effort by acting like a couple of three-year-old who don't know what they want! And everyone else is indulging them? In the real world it would be the producer suing them and asking them to pay for a million dollars!

Entertaining but not logical
eunice200222 February 2024
In previous episodes you can see that they sign a contract to appear on the reality show. Are you telling me that the production company or whatever didn't make them sign a contract for the wedding to take place? I mean spending $150k on a wedding that doesn't happen in the end has no consequences? Someone would spend that amount of money filming a wedding process that in the end does not take place and everything is resolved with a "we are sorry", this episode has no coherence, the script must be revised The Luchos plot is good but it is the same thing that we already know, no one pays attention to the one who is right, then it goes wrong for obvious reasons, then he is going to die; then shawn in a personal moment has an idea and then everything works out and everyone lives happily.

I emphasize that nothing makes sense, the episode itself is not boring, you are not going to fall asleep watching it but it is not the mega plot that keeps you focused, I would put it on as a podcast while I wash the dishes one afternoon after arriving from university.
