apparences

Warning: Spoilers
Being myself bald, I understand the drama of hugo maybe too well. Because it is one of the most simple forms of intense desire to be accepted. For this noble purpose, each solution can sound reasonable.

A balding man front to his date. The wigs are the chance to save apparences . But the first date gives a precious clue. Like the final scene of film. Yes, it is not so easy to accept it.

The wig has succes in one of dates. But the morning after changes, in radical/ brutal form, everything. The wig is lost by Hugo but discovered by his new girlfriend and her reaction is far to be indulgent.

The moral, this charming ( for a part of viewers, no doubts, painful )short film can be a very good parable about apparences. Its basic virtue - the beautiful acting of Chris van Veen.
