How do you make a friendship stories . I will tell you the recipe 1. First think of heterogenous group and add all them in one school. If you can add one poor chap and may be one gay character that will be more inclusive 2. Now cut after 15 or 20 years and give them unique set of problems 3. Make them easy to gather together. Plan one instigating moment ( here is lavanyas wedding ) Voila your friendship story is ready. This story is full of props but the problem is nothing is new . You just know , you can predict and when the final moment comes you think this is not rightly told. Acting skill wise is good and there are few humorous moments but it's average.

Remake of Netflix's "Friends from College"
sthiruma0012 July 2023
Good for a Hindi series. Engaging, entertaining and watchable. Even though some story line is slightly altered at a higher lever compared to "Friends from College", this is still good. Good cast and screenplay.

All the cast are looking good and have acted well! Portrays the latest gen lifestyle.

Tamanna was looking pretty and has acted well.

I loved the original English series in Netflix, each of these are good in its own way.

Enough one ended with 2 seasons, eager to see how many seasons the Hindi one is gonna run!

If you have not watched the English series, ppl might find this new and entertaining.

Loads of loopholes
sakshiagarwal9004 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
1. How are 7 friends in same city since school?

Their higher education, job opportunities nothing moved them away from their base location?

2. How did rishabh drive with one hand in season 1 episode 7 in vidaai scene?

3. Dialog delivery seems forced from all characters

4. A few scenes seem like an after-thought and don't actually add anything to the story. Seem to confuse the viewer rather!

5. Lavanya and rishabh are childhood friends. How is it that lavanya and her mom are learning about rishabh's family at the time of wedding? If they are shown to be so overbearing, they definitely would be a big part of rishabh's day to day life as well. Or atleast important events since childhood.

6. Why did melroy change to wedding outfit at yavar's wedding and when? If he planned to sneak yavar out of the venue, he didn't need to change at all and amidst that emotional breakdown.

7. Hypocrisy in the name of equality. What lavanya's mom does at couple's wedding is termed as her wish and her enjoyment, while rishabh's parents are portrayed as orthodox for expressing their wishes.

8. Being a major control freak that lavanya is, how did she fail to mention her allergies before haldi ceremony or better, arrange for her own haldi mix.

9. The chandan allergy scene did not add any extension to the story of the couple, nor did it make any difference to bride's look or whatever. I don't understand why was it even a part of the episode except to portray the groom's side negatively.

At any given event, loads of things go wrong, but none of those were highlighted.

You will definitely get connect with the character and story
aaarjun88815 June 2023
I was just passing my time and I saw this that web series on Amazon prime today.

Started slowly but quickly I was involved with the story and character line.

Everything is good acting story direction but this story has been highlighted for South Bombay people, this web series will be entertain by a certain type and catogory of viewers.

Spoiler:- episode 6 or 7 I guess you will connect with tamanna's character where she is in a guilt a deep guilt yet trying to be normal everywhere but she knows that she has already damaged herself and cannot forgive herself sometimes out of sudden she gets broken and feel broken.. This situation is very confusing and full of dilaema I must say because we must have felt and been in these kind of feeling once in a while in our life.

Watch it you will get to know what I was talking about.

Binge watching the whole series (6 epi) and interesting it didn't look like India but I suppose, young and upper middle class, rich Indians live and act like this...I wouldn't know as I grew up in US but seriously, I doubt it btw, nothing was original here, everything was plagiarized from US/ Hollywood. Nevertheless, I like the developed & progressive version of India via this serial oh and the traditional dresses, jewelry and the sets were beautiful. So good that cannot wait for Season 2
thejaskirat15 June 2023
Acting,Background Score, Costume Design,Screenplay, Cinematography, Script & Story ...all are so good with attention given to every small detail aspect of every scene. No useless fillers . Acting of every artist is outstanding even if it's the smallest role. OTT needs more such content . The first episode took a little time to move but by the end got a hang of it . Perfect binge watch. So many scenes highlights the bond between friends from school to Adulthood. Tamannaah aced the show & empowered all her co-stars with her precise modest skill set of acting. This series shall certainly create an impact in the saturated Indian OTT space .

Friendship wins
sanjeevanwar15 June 2023
Anwar Says: A refreshing experience which would recall your memories of childhood friends and you would feel like calling them for a party. Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has always tried to present something new to the celluloid, but here the plot is old with infectious friendship and relatable online chemistry among seven childhood friends.

Definitely not a family watch since the screenplay has been woven in the upscale South Mumbai culture. You would find adultery, gay relation , infidelity, use of slangs and child abuse in the continuous stories of the seven friends. Every important happening in their life is correlated to their school days at frequent intervals and this experiment works. Characters impressed most are Tamanna Bhatia, Anya Singh and Hussain Dalal.

Music of Sachin-Jigar is superb particularly the opening track. Watch it for friendship, queer romance and neo- urban mentality particularly in metros.

I would give 3 out of 5 rating.

They really have to justify certain characters transgressions in s2
hirenjsaikia20 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS

I hardly watch Indian series bare family man or Rudra but trued thus one because of tammannah

Lavanya definately shows significant traits of a bipolar and ADHD character . The way she sabotages her life without regret ( she has remorse) implies she has bipolar or suppressed trauma. She also had a lot of issues .

In s2 they must try making her pregnant with arjuna child and take it from there.

Her husband must not be wasted as a weak guy rather some sort of major repercussions should be made .

Preet is a loveable character alone with Sheetal.

Arjun guy us just like Aditya Roy in yeh jawaani.

Shahid is complicated.

Rest all is ok for an Indian show.

Children acting like matured but adults immature 😆
gautamishruthi8 July 2023
It has rich production values, actors also good but why wrong propaganda always. Why girls can't able to love the right guys but fall in love with the toxic guys always. Why seeing the culture in a wrong way always. There are good things also there in our culture why can't we accept it?.alcohol, drugs, affairs are so casual and sex is everything in life. I really hate lavanya character. She didn't even accept to keep veg food for her wedding but if her boyfriend get the ice cream flavor he likes then she makes issue out of it, hypocrisy to the core. You don't even adjust for small things in life then how can you expect others do compromise in big things. Stay away from that kind of girls guys no matter how beautiful and well settled they can't be the right partners.

Awesome show
sahup-140523 July 2023
Good strory, actimg was mind-blowing

The story was so catchy you will get connected to it from the 1st episode itself. Yes but sometimes you will find it quite non-sense like constant party, sudden sex scenes & the worst is the songs, litraly they are a headache, some dialogues get voiceless due to this back-groumd

Somethings get unsotted & will make you confused, the the show does not answer your situationally rised questions there you have to use your own logic to find it

However a good show to watch with your close friends/buddies/besty/school friends.

A MUST WATCH Web-Series from my point of view.

About 7 childhood friends
sameerlodaya17 June 2023
Sameer lodaya.

The series is about 7 childhood friends who continue their bonding after schooling also

The content is about how friends from school times continue their touch in their present life..the making is very glamorous and colourful..very classy costumes and aesthetics have shown..the casting is in big actors like Tamanna and other ott leads..the makers have balanced here by showing poor ,middle class ,and rich friends in same group and how their life goes hand in hand with each other..last 2 episodes were very gripping and kept a good space for another season..the pace of series is good and doesn't bore you provide of you like such content..good songs were a cherry on top

Every character has been played very accurately by the actors where they gave good effect of love ,adjustment's ,emotions, and bondings

The negatives are that they shown too much of sexual activities where every frame is Co related with sex..they stretched too much on gay relations..fealty dialogues.. they could have kept all these elements in limits and could had shown some better twists as first 6 episodes had nothing great to offer..

Not a family watch.

Captivating Performances and Relatable Storylines Shine in 'Jee Karda': A Must-Watch Series for All
anoopspeaks16 June 2023
"Jee Karda" is an engaging series that showcases a talented ensemble cast bringing their characters to life with remarkable performances. Tamannaah Bhatia stands out as Lavanya, a young woman on a journey of self-discovery and navigating the complexities of marriage. Her portrayal is both captivating and emotionally resonant, leaving a lasting impression.

Anya Singh delivers a commendable performance as a girl in search of love, injecting moments of humor into the narrative. Aashim Gulati effortlessly embodies the lively and spirited pop singer "AG the OG," following his exceptional performance in 'Taj: Divided by Blood.' Malhar Thakar and Samvedna Suwalka skillfully portray a couple facing challenges in their modest 2BHK flat, evoking empathy from the audience.

Sayan Banerjee's Melroy character is heartwarming and well-written, leaving a memorable impact. The ensemble cast receives excellent support from Suhail Nayyar, Hussain Dalal, Simone Singh, and Dolly Ahluwalia, enhancing the overall dynamics of the series.

Set in Mumbai, the series benefits from Mahendra Shetty's impressive cinematography and high production values, creating a visually appealing experience. Sachin Jigar's background music beautifully complements the show, with songs like "Jee Karda," "Blood Moon," and "Vibe" setting the tone for various moments. With meticulous attention to detail and creative choices, Arunima Sharma brings out captivating performances from the entire cast, elevating the series to another level of excellence.

"Jee Karda" will particularly resonate with the younger generation, as it explores relatable discussions and dilemmas faced by friends entering adulthood. The series effectively captures the value of friendship, self-discovery, and resilience in the face of life's challenges. With its compelling performances, engaging storytelling, and top-notch production, "Jee Karda" is a must-watch for everyone.

The Indian version of American sitcom FRIENDS
aparnagangopadhyay2 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Jee Karda Teenagers in 2000s manage to completely mess up their lives by the time they reach their 30's. Most of the cases were clearly shown to be raised in a 'broken family' or a family where the parents were not good role models!

Arjun, becomes a famous singer and then comes to know that he was an illegitimate son of a legend singer! His mother had kept it as a secret because he was an illegitimate child. Raised by being fed lies.... Rishabh belonged to an orthodox family but they did not mind the fact that he was in a live-in relationship with his childhood friend Lavanya/ Lavu for the past 4 years. After children reach adulthood - they anyways don't care about what the elderly well wishers may be suggesting them. They will learn their lessons their own way after all!

Lavanya's mother was a libidinous woman who blatantly told around about her sexcapades even with her daughter. The daughter had her as the role model - so obviously concepts of chaste and moral values were totally lacking in her. Ultimately it's the mother who brings about the downfall in the 'supposedly' ideal relationship between Rishabh and Lavu....probably making Lavu understand that a single sex-partner can never satisfy the libidinous DNA map she had!

Melroy's step father used to sexually abuse him since he was 11 years old. His friends help him expose the step father - who then commits suicide leaving Melroy survive somehow with guilt and grudges. He then becomes a gay. As a gay also he manages to attract an abusive partner who used to bully and beat him up. He then tries out a gay dating app and hires multiple gays for sensual fulfilment.

Sheetal, a topper in NIFT, marries in a family where all lived together and they hardly had any space for themselves! She loves Sameer but could not convince him to take up a flat just adjacent to their flat. She is still shown to compromise a lot but to no avail...she was not happy about the adjustments she was making. Looked happy on the outside but very sad in the inside. They had to actually use the toilet to 'make love' because there was no privacy in their house. As she becomes pregnant, she decides to leave Sameer...if he did not agree to move in to a flat of their own.

Preet, also had a weakness for Arjun since teenage and thought that Arjun will marry her one day. Arjun had zero feelings for her and nothing materialized between the two of them. She becomes a counselor but herself needed a lot of counselling! She then went in for various live-in relationships but was afraid to commit .... There is a scene where she was counselling a young teenage school boy who was lamenting about the fact that his father had left with his new girlfriend and his mother also fled with a man and that the car he used was old and small compared to his friend's car.....what ridiculous social degradation is this - unbelievable! Ghor kalyug!

Shahid belonged to a financially poor family with a very strict father and had grudges against the rich show-offs who called themselves his friends. He was trying hard to bring some light in the lives of slum dwellers and had invited his friends for the inauguration of a small school. But hardly anyone turned up - leaving him sad, angry and vindictive.

As it is life for everyone - whether rich or poor - was completely messed up! And then came the whistleblower dialogue - disgruntled Shahid reveals to Rishabh that his wife had sex with Arjun on the sangeet night of his wedding....right in front of everyone!

Poverty anywhere is a threat to prosperity everywhere!

And last but not the least - Lavu confesses that she is least guilty about the fact that she had sex with Arjun and rather she enjoyed it very much. Like mother, like daughter.

I was killing some time on Amazon Prime when I came across this web series. It started off slowly, but the story and characters rapidly drew me in.

worth watching
nvelip-028546 July 2023
As in the beginning webseries looks confusing, As it's the story about seven friends it should have been limited to 4 so we can understand the story clearly we have to watch it almost 3 times as which one is which charecter, above all its worth watching creative head have little misplaced the story hard to understand only thing I like about it is school life and when we became adults life is different its not the same what we taught when we are in school...relationship, family problem anyways nice concept for worth watching so beware you will be little confusing in the beginning.... Any ways enjoy the ride.

One of the best webseries
Taimursk568079719 June 2023
The exceptional turns by the skilled ensemble cast in "Jee Karda" are a major factor in the success of the production. Lavanya, a young woman coping with the stresses of marriage and coming into her own, is played brilliantly by Tamannaah Bhatia. Her performance is moving and genuine; it will stay with you. Anya Singh's charismatic portrayal of a young woman on the prowl for love elevates the narrative to a higher level. Aashim Gulati, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work in "Taj: Divided by Blood," plays a happy and exuberant pop musician entitled "AG the OG," while Malhar Thakar and Samvedna Suwalka, who play a struggling couple in a 2BHK apartment, evoke sympathy.

Disaster
rabhiteja20 January 2024
Why are web series these days so templated?

1. Gay/lesbian character mandatory 2. Portraying marriages being stressful 3. To modernize traditions put a cigarette in Indian bride's hand 4. Every episode to have at minimum 50 profane words 5. Vegetarians to be made fun of 6. Alcohol, smoking and if possible drugs 7. Sex 8. One ideal character who in normal world is looked up at but in these series they will be made fun of as dumb.

9. Only 10% story

There has been so much expectation that Tamannah is working in OTT series but it's only a little polished over Balaji telefilms funky ones but nothing more than that.

Amezing performance
sinulaktar19 June 2023
Sayan Banerjee's Melroy is a likeable and well-developed character who stays with the reader. Suhail Nayyar, Hussain Dalal, Simone Singh, and Dolly Ahluwalia round out the ensemble cast brilliantly, adding to the show's energy and excitement. The series also benefits from strong performances from the rest of the creative team. There are no filler words. Every artist, no matter how tiny the role, does a fantastic job. More of this type of material is needed on OTT platforms. The first episode moved slowly, but I quickly got used to the format. The ideal show to watch in one sitting. There are numerous situations that show the friendships formed in school continuing into adulthood. Tamannaah nailed it and gave her co-stars confidence thanks to her nuanced, precise acting abilities. In the crowded Indian OTT market, this show is guaranteed to stand out.

Messed up people and their messed up stories
aprasannak22 July 2023
In a nutshell, Jee Karda is all about messed up people and their messed up stories.

Up until episode 5, its all fun and games, really loved everything. It had a great vibe to it. All the actors have done a great job.

However, I don't understand why the writer/director felt the need to mess up the stories in the last 3 episodes. I was really disappointed and angry with the turn of events in these last episodes.

So, if you ask me, "Stream It or Skip It?". I would say, "Skip It" unless you want to really be upset/angry with the ending. It leaves a bitter taste at the end and it will take sometime to get over the messy finish.

Lovely acting
dassmrite-3978019 June 2023
Tamanna Bhatia and Suhail Nayyar both performed excellent work. They performed an excellent job on stage in bringing their characters to life. The tale and the book's strong female characters were excellent additions. It was inspiring to witness a woman take command and act like a boss. The love triangle in this webseries was both charming and tragic. As a result,I became more invested in the characters and the tale as a whole. The tale was fantastic since it took unexpected turns. I was captivated by the entire webseries and was on the edge of my seat throughout. Strongly recommended i like it very much.

An Overdramatic, Unneccesarily Dated Friendship Drama WIth A Sprinkle of Nice Music !!!
cs_rahul_prasad20 August 2023
Amazon Prime's new show, Jee Karda - the eight-episode series is set in the city of dreams, Mumbai, where no one has time to dream, actually, and everyone is just chasing the clock. It tells the complex story of seven school friends who are in their 30s now and are facing challenges in their respective lives that they all were warned about years ago.

The series starts off with a group of seven children at a Christmas carnival at their school, where one of the pals suggests visiting the stall of a magician, who is also a face reader. The friends receive shocking predictions from the magician, who warns the group about things they should keep away from in future. The frame cuts, and now all of them are grown up and in their 30s at one of their friends, Sheetal's third wedding anniversary. Making the most of the moment, Rishab (Suhail Nayyar) proposes to his school girlfriend Lavanya (Tamannaah Bhatia).

The wedding preparations of Lavanya and Rishab kick-off and is the pole of the show around which the whole story revolves.

The other focus of the show is rock star AG the OG. Played by Aashim Gulati, Arjun is a Punjabi rockstar and enjoys a massive fan following. His only family is his friends and a single mother (Dolly Ahluwalia). While these three (Rishab, Lavanya, and AG) are the primary focus of the show, in between, the show also touches upon other characters, their fights, struggles, and hardships that they are going through in their respective lives.

Sheetal (Samvedna Suwalka), who is a NIFT gold medalist and a top-class designer, is fighting to get a space for herself and her husband in the 2BHK apartment, where she's living with her in-laws and husband Sameer (Malhar Thakar). The other is Preet (Anya Singh), a stunning counsellor who is struggling to find an ideal mate for herself. Next on the list is Melroy (Sayan Banerjee), an openly gay man who is fighting with society's homophobic thought process and a toxic relationship. And the last one is Shahid, the underprivileged kid and one of the friends who has always been ignored.

While everything seems perfect in their lives, somewhere inside everyone is going through their own complexities, guilt, and confusion and the show keeps unravelling the stories.

The show doesn't have much to offer, and neither does it give a very strong message on friendship. The show catches your interest right away, but it fails to maintain the flow. Co-written by Arunima Sharma, Abbas Dalal, and Hussain Dalal, the story runs back and forth to give the audience a grasp of the individuals' past lives and help them relate to their current scenarios. As you get involved in the show, you might not be able to understand what's happening and where is the story heading.

The performance of each character in the show is commendable. Tamannaah Bhati as Lavu is the highlight of the show, and she plays the character of the bossy girl with aplomb. Aashim Gulati, who has been in the headlines for his role as Salim in Taj: The Reign of Revenge, has again proven his acting talent as the hip-hop star. His character is entertaining and gripping, and wins every frame he's in. Other actors - Suhail Nayyar, Anya Singh, Samvedna Suwalka, Malhar Thakar, Sayan Banerjee, and Hussain Dalal - have done a decent job.

Sachin-Jigar's music brings modern and quirky charm to the show and sets the vibe of the series in the perfect way. All in all, Jee Karda is the type of show that ends on an annoying note with the question, "What's the motto behind this show?"

Final verdict - The urban life set-up, peppy music, and cast make the show look good, but the script takes away all the fun.

Superb webseries
k-35865-7443219 June 2023
It's worth watching. Initially I thought nah it just another Bollywood crime series. But with this series I was actually hooked to finish the episodes in one go. The way the explained the whole story with details was really brilliant. Everyone has done justice to their characters, the emotions they had with their character seemed real and that is the reason I was watching this series till 4 am in the morning. While the episodes keeps you little curious how the show will take its turn to keep you hooked but as the episodes continue you feel little exhausted with the plot and the screenplay. The dialogues and BGM is decent...... The findings, research and execution is above average. They have tried to show the complexity on it which ultimately keeps you less engaged.
